Very comfortable hotel, friendly and very helpful staff. We arrived very late but the clerk phoned a local restaurant and arranged to have us picked up and brought back at no extra charge. The bedrooms, more like suites, were comfortable and well equiped. Best part is the view. This hotel must have the most spectacular view in Naples Bay it's worth staying here for this alone. Excellent value hotel.

From the moment we checked in with Andreas (I think that was his name) from our checkout, we had a fabulous stay at Le Terrazze. We will definitely recommend this hotel to our friends. The only thing that might be a problem for some is the bus service is a bit unreliable but other than that - no complaints! Thanks for making our European vacation memorable! p.s. The view was to die for!

The hotel staff were very helpful. The room was good. We were far donw as the hotel s terraced so had to walk up and down . The setting is lovely with wonderful views. We were glad to stay out of Sorrento on the hillside. The only negative is the quality of the breakfast coffee!! We will certainly stay there again.

The view is wonderful, although getting there was not that easy. The place seemed a little run down. Would of loved to see it in its hayday. They do have breakfast, but the dining room has closed down. Parking was minimal, but the view was something else.

Le Terrazze was excellent value for money for what we wanted - a quiet hotel with a pool and a beautiful view. Our room, complete with balcony view, was fine and linen and towels changed each day (they even washed our dishes, unasked). If I had any complaints it would be the "bar" (I've more in my kitchen!) and the lack of a restaurant, but the courtesy car to nearby excellent restaurants - Fattoria Terranova in particular - more than compensated for this. Breakfast was standard continental fair but the bland cheese and processed ham became very boring after a day or two - where was the prosciutto, parma and salami and more fresh fruit? Also if you are going to sell these apartments as having a kitchen then do equip them properly - there was the bare minimum of utensils. The hotel is a 15-20 minute bus ride out of Sorrento but away from the noise of the town and its distance provides the view. In any case the regular cheap public transport from just outside the hotel's door is great - we were in and out of Sorrento most days and did the whole Amalfi coast by bus. The nearest village of St. Agatha is about 1km away - DO NOT contemplate walking to it as you will be taking your life in your hands the way traffic moves on these roads! All of the above said, we really enjoyed our stay and would both recommend and return to Le Terrazze.

Beautiful little place, high in the mountains (which isn't easy to find) but well worth the trip as the views from the rooms and the restaurant are spectacular. The staff is very friendly with a very laid back and helpful attitude. Not close to the city center but there is a bus that stops directly in front of the hotel and you can purchase tickets at the reception and are relatively cheap. It's a 20 minute bus drive on the winding mountain roads all the way down to the center of Sorrento. Strongly recommend this hotel if you would like to be in a quieter place off the beaten path.

I would strongly recommend Le Terrazze... My partner and I stayed in an apartment.. Were very impressed by the size of the apartment, the amazing view and the friendliness of the staff. Also very informative booklet in room about the area surrounding Sorrento. We had hire car which made it very easy but aparently there is a bus down to centre of Sorrento.

This hotel is a little gem high in the hills above Sorrento with a beautiful view of the Bay of Naples and Mt.Vesiuvio. The rooms are spacious, even by U.S. Standards. They are tastefully decorated and clean. The staff was very pleasant and accomodating. During our stay, They recommended an absolutely fantastic agriturismo farm restaurant where we had an incredible dining experience. I have stayed in Sorrento city proper a number of times and there's an advantage to being close to the city center. However, if you don't mind being a few miles from the city center, high in the lemon groves, in fresh mountain air, with a spectacular view of Sorrento and Vesuvio, this is the place for you.

Hotel is hard to find and it is on top of a mountain. Parking space is limited and dangerous when you end up parking on the side of the road. Nice swimming pool to relax after spending the day in Sorrento or Capri. Good breakfast.

The hotel is situated on a hilltop some 7-8 km from the city center of Sorrento. It is quite hard to find - even with a Garmin GPS, we were lost and took 20-30 minutes to locate it (and after stopping twice for directions). If you don't have a car, and prefer to be near the main city area with more restaurants and tourist spots, then don't choose it. There is no elevator service so if you have lots of luggages, be prepared to haul them down and up winding steps to get to your room. Once you get to your room (almost everyone has a terrace), however, you will be blown away by the spectacular vista of the Sorrento coast down below. So, if you are looking for a retreat style place to relax, this would be an excellent hotel choice.

Hotel was quite as expected, but the real sea wiev we did get only from the balcon of our room. The first week of June in Italy is not safely sunny, so the room almost inside the sharp hill was a little bit wet and cold compared finnish ones. Our room was in the second floor, and unfortunately just beside the restaurant room of the other hotel, which covered the sea wiev. The upper floor is surely better for that reason, but in generally the hole place and the wiev is so amazing, high and nice like in the sky looking down to Sorrento and Gulf of Naples.

Our room was nice and had a fantastic view. The only downside was the location - even though we had a hire car, it was a very windey drive up and down the hill. Also the room did not have things like dishwashing detergent, sponge, etc so we had to go and buy these sorts of things.

This was one of our favourite hotels in Italy. The room and view were spectacular! The room itself was clean and had plush towels and an adorable kitchenette. The location of the hotel is a 20 minute bus ride into the heart of Sorrento, 30 minutes to the port where you can get a boat to Capri and an hour from the Almalfi Coast and Pompeii. The bus stops directly infront of the hotel. The only issue is that the busses tend to run on their own schedule and may arrive 20 minutes before or after the time that is stated. The pictures of the room seem to have an upstairs however these are only the rooms for 3 or more people. The breafast is great with all types of meat and coffee as well as toast, cereal and fruit! The owners are more than helpful even offering us a cup of salt when we needed some to cook. We will no doubt return to this hotel in the future and highly recommend it to anyone wishing to travel in Italy.

There is a restaurant near the hotel providing shuttle service so that you may ask the hotel manager to book for you.

We recently stayed at Le Terrazze in March of 2009. Our stay there was quite spectacular on two fronts: the room and our host. Starting with the later, the owner accommodated our every needs. He arranged for us to have dinner at a local restaurant, where the chef picked us up and drove us home. He waited up for us to arrive, even though we were two hours late and couldn't call(1:00 AM). He printed out maps and gave recommendations on visits to the Amalfi Coast and Pompei. He even made time to share with us his life story and experiences owning Le Terrazze. The room was just like the pictures. It was clean, bright, and we had amazing views of the Mediterranean and Mount Vesuvius from our personal balcony. Additionally, the room was equipped with a handmade guide of directions, recommendations, and schedules of different day trips near Sorrento. If I could recommend one place in Sorrento this would definitely be it. I hope to return soon and revist our friendly host.

Really great views, but a car is needed because the hotel is 6 km out of Sorento on the way to St.Agatha. The rooms are clean and most of them have terraces with great view over the sea. Thay also have a little kitchen with everything you need for self-catering. You can buy something from Sorento, keep in the fridge, even cook, and have a romantic dinner on the terrace.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Terrazze. The staff was friendly and helpful; the accommodations were very nice, clean and well maintained; breakfast was great; and the view of the Sorrento Coast and surrounding area is fantastic. Since the hotel is on the hill overlooking town, you must either take a cab (~$35 Euro)or use the bus service unless you have a rental. We used the bus service and it worked great. Staff was extremely accomodating and made reservations for sightseeing as well as dining. We would highly recommend La Terrazze!!

Breakfest reasonable and above average compared to italian standard (Croissant, donuts, cereals, bredwhite and brown, some cheese and meet as well as coffe, tea and some orange dring (quite artificial in taste). The good: Breathtaking views, spacious rooms, kitchen & dining area in the room, friendly and helpful staff, quiet surroundings, free parking (a big issue in Sorrento), decent breakfast (freshly cut fruit salad was nice; no bacon & eggs, but I didn't miss them). The bad: Old furniture was a bit moldy, the hotel is on a slope, and the room is partially excavated into the mountain, so if you suffer from dust mite allergies like me, this can be a problem; maintenance level of room facilities could be improved, though staff was always helpful in repairing them; a bit far from the city center (but this is compensated by nice views and free parking); parking may be full (we had to park on the street one of 4 nights).

The breakfast and coffee are superb and all the other guests there were just so friendly. The young lady that worked n the mornings was particularly helpful to us with directions to other places and instructions on how to take the buses. My only slight disappointment was just that you had to take the bus to go anywhere but I would definitely go back and hope to do so in the very near future!

The hotel's location is awesome. The view is so picturesque that I did not want to leave. You can just sit on the balcony and stare for hours. Beautiful views from room. Rooms were small - barely enough room for luggage. Mold in bathroom all over - ceilings, floors, walls. Our neighbours room smelled of raw sewage and they had to keep their door open to try to air it out. We could smell it from the hall. Our room did not have this but we could faintly smell it from the balcony. Area is a bit far from Sorrento but was good for us as we used this as a home base to go to Amalfi Coast and Sorrento so it was okay for us. Staff was not overly frienldly or helpful but they did their job.

The hotel was situated on the top of a mountain with an outstanding view of Sorrento. The services provided the hotel guests was nothing short of exceptional. The place was immaculate and clean and provided a nice breakfast included with the price of the room/apartment. A pool situated on the lower terrace was quite popular with the guests during the heat of the day. A bus both to Sorrento and Positano going in differest directions was convenient and easy to get to other locations. Restaurants that were very good were located as close to next door and around the corner or in sorrento or Positano. Excursions to the Island of Capri could be arranged with pick-up right at the hotel. Our experience here was good and memorable and recommended as a stay while in this area. The hotel is family-owned with the members there taking great pride in their jobs. Outstanding visit and a must stop and visit. I would highly recommend this place for everyone.

While the staff (particularly the hostess) need to work on the people-skills, the property as a whole is very nice...if located quite a ways out of town (transport is absolutely necessary, and the property does not have enough parking spots). The views are quite good, with the property located high above Sorrento, and we received a free upgrade from a standard room to a superior suite (including kitchen area, loft, and small refrigerator). Warning for those who are driving: parts of downtown Sorrento are closed to traffic (physically impossible to drive car on certain streets, not just signs saying "Don't Enter!"), so you can easily become trapped down there with no easy way to get back to Le Terrazze. Breakfast was fresh and well-presented, but pretty much the standard Euro-fare (3 bland cereals, fruit, yogurt, meat/cheese tray, croissants). Hauling luggage to and from room is a chore due to no lift and no offer of help from staff. Would probably return to this property, but it's not a "you must stay there" kind of place.

What a fantastic location and views. The pictures really do not do it justice - the reality is just jaw dropping with amazing view across the Bay of Naples. We visited as a family for 6 days with 2 children (10 & 12)they loved the pool! Location is just great peaceful but close enough to Sorrento and all the main attrations (Pompei/Vesuvius etc) but far enough to be just right and quiet. Bus service was excellent. Our host could not be more helpful & kind, and all the staff were so nice. Rooms cleaned every day and the breakfast was huge and varied - stay here its just great. The Brink Family from the UK

The employees are not so friendly, the rooms are very noisy, the water tap should be revised, moreover the description says there is a free parking, but when the hotel is full it is not enough and you must park along the street!!! As for the rest, the pics are responding to reality and the view breathtaking. Anyway I advised not to go to this hotel if you are not by car!

Price was great and the view was spectacular. We had a quad room since we had two children with us, ages 7 and 9. The kids loved the view and we found the staff very nice. They had a few issues with the room: the heat did not work the first night, and the toilet seat was disconnected from the toilet allowing it to slide off completely.... which suprised my wife! You clearly would want a car at this hotel. It is high up over the city of Sorrento, which was a short 5 minute drive down the moutain. Location was great if you also want to drive to cities on the other side of the mountain like Positano (30 minutes away). I thought the price was perfect and it was wonderful for the kids. We stayed 4 nights.

My girlfriend and I were taking a budget trip through Italy and decided we could award ourselves with a hotel a little bit more expensive in Sorrento than in our other stops, since we were in such a romantic spot. The decision to go for this hotel proved to be a bad mistake. We were coming from Amalfi, on the last bus that was supposed to stop by the hotel. However aparently there was some kind of protest that day, and the street had been closed to bus traffic. I called the hotel several times to ask for some kind of direction or help, but they were quite indifferent to our situation. We were left in the center of Sorrento and the only way to get to the hotel was by taxi, which cost us about 40 Euro. Once there (because of all the havoc we arrived in the hotel after 9PM) we wanted to get something to eat, but there weren't any options nearby (a convenience store, or pizza delivery would've solved our problem), except for a restaurant that would pick us up there. The restaurant was decent and the family who ran it was pretty nice, but unfortunately couldn't save our night. They brought us back and we went to sleep. Since the hotel is in the middle of nowhere and we wanted to see Sorrento and Capri, we checked out and left in the first bus available, before even having breakfast. This hotel may be interesting if you're driving, or if you're staying there for a long time and want to enjoy the amenities it offers, such as a pool, large rooms with kitchens, etc. If you're going there just to visit the Amalfi Coast like we were, avoid it at all costs. Another thing, although everywhere it says that this hotel is in Sorrento, it's actually pretty far from it, in a neighboring city.

We loved this place. Our room was huge. The staff was helpful. Breakfast & the breakfast terrace were lovely. Views were amazing, especially at night. Our only disappointment was we did not get a room with a terrace & view as shown in the pictures. Our terrace only fit a couple of chairs, was off to the side behind trees and we didn't have really any view from there. They recommended a place called Terra Nuova (or something like that). Someone came to pick us up & take us there & it was delightful. The best meal we had in Italy. Directions on the site probably need to be clearer.

The property was difficult to find as the directions were not very clear. The property is not very close to other facilities eg. restaurants. It is in a nice location - great view of Sorrento but the air is very polluted. It is not a good location for a person with breathing difficulties. This was our first visit to Italy . The night supervisor kept telling my relatives to " call back " when they called us " long distance" because he was on a mobile phone and he could not transfer their calls to us until he returned to the office.

The bus frecuency to get there is not the apropriate and sometimes it doesn´t stop if full; and the taxi is very expensive. The hotel is great and the view is fantastic, but I recomend to get by car.

Price, value, views all excellent. A little bit longer ride out of town, but views and service made up for it. We stayed two days more than original three because we liked it so much. A car made it easier to stay here. Restaurant next door was great and we ate their twice because of it. The agrotourism location for a dinner recommended by the clerk was way overpriced, but charming. They offered free taxi which should have been the alerting factor. The owner works here full time and is very helpful and responsive.

We enjoyed our stay at Le Terrazze. However, we did have several issues while we were there. The one thing that stood out the most was how unfriendly the hotel staff was the whole time. It wasn't that they were overly rude, but they whenever we asked a question or had a request it truly seemed that we were bothering them. We loved the view and the room was spacious. Overall, we liked the hotel, I am not sure we would return.

This hotel is far up on the mountain overlooking Sorrento. We did not realize how far the property was from the train station, cab ride was 40 euro! Take the Sita bus that is 5 euro! Once we got there the view was spectacular, you can see the ocean, Naples, and Sorrento. It is quiet and peaceful. The rooms include a kitchenette which is very handy. We stayed in Sorrento for 6 nights and we loved every minute of it.

excellant hotel, the owner Antonio is extra helpful and I suggest you benefit from his experience of the area. His suggestions were always helpful and in hindsite his suggestion was always the best option. The local bus stops right in front of the hotel which is super convenient. The car service offered by the Don Pedro restaurant is great, they pick you up at the hotel and bring you back after supper and the food and service is excellant.Their prices are really reasonable for they quality they give. The fresh fish dish was the best we had in Italy!

Nice hillside location with great views. Both the pool and restaurant are actually in the hotel next door (though that caused no problems). Family room was large, but the sleeping areas were small and "stacked" one on the other, with little ventilation reaching those areas. Overall, we were happy with the hotel, though felt the cost (E200) high for what we got.

We got a bit lost locating the hotel but once there we were very pleased with the postion of the hotel and the view is to die for. The apartment was neat and clean. The staff were always helpful. The children loved the pool area and the breakfast was typical continental fare. The hotel next door has nice dinners if you dont want to go far at night.

We were not satisfied with the room in every detail. Under the bed was dust and the photos were made of the nice rooms. Even if You take the more expensive rooms it can be a smaller one and less attractive without two levels as shown. But exept of that it is a very nice place with a grandious view and is very quite.

One of the best views in Sorrento, especially for the price. The only trick is getting there. They did offer very helpful instructions on how to get there by bus, which stops right at the hotel. It is a bit of a hassle, though, but certainly worth it.

-if driving to hotel in the dark - get clear and concise directions before attempting to find this hotel-directions given on Venere are not detailed enough with kilometre markings for a new person to area -driving in Sorrento is not recommended -public tourist transportation is adequate

This hotel is nice if you have a car. If you don`t have a car, you will need 20 minutes by bus to go down to Sorrento center. Avoid taxi, which will cost you 40 EUR one way! Very nice breakfest and view!

The hotel was great and had great views. I would pay the extra next time to stay in an ocean view room. The staff were not very friendly at times and we felt it was hard to ask questions. The details on how to get there by car are a little hard to follow. Worth it for the views and overall a nioce place.

The apartment was very spacious but not equipped for a real 'self catering' experience (limited cutlery available). The view from the room was fantastic and there seemed to be a good bus service from outside the hotel (we had a car so didn't use it). The pool area was very good with plenty of sun loungers. I would recommend staying outside of town as the views are fanstastic and the town can be a bit noisy.

Pleasant, modest and nice hotel. It is a little far from Sorrento (15-20 minutes by the car upwards). Good service, not bad breakfasts. The personnel pleasant, ready to help. Gorgeous view with top on Sorrento. Rooms are purely cleaned also spacious.

Great place to stay if your on a budget. Friendly staff. About 10 minutes out of town. You need to decide if you want to be "downtown" or up above it all with a great view. They have a few parking places but, If you get in late, expect to squeeze in on the side of the road.

We had a cheaper room at La Terrazze but the view was still amazing. The hotel was great. We went to the farmhouse for dinner and that was the best dining experience in our whole trip of Italy!

Location is fantastic, the views across the bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius breathtaking. In our family room we had our own table and chairs on the balcony enabling a relaxing way of starting/finishing the day. The room was very clean, the kitchen well equipped, although some of the furniture is dated.Once stocked with food/drink,self catering is an easy option. The staff spoke English and were very helpful. We had a car and found difficulty in getting the right road from Sorrento, however once you know the way it is a 10 minute drive from town. The buses are very cheap-but be warned that a full bus will not stop for you. Day trips out are sometimes easier by public transport as parking can be expensive/difficult in towns.I would not hire a car again in Italy as congestion and driving standards do not make it a pleasure. Having no restaurant is a minor problem, but the staff will point you in the right direction, we were transported on our first night for a meal on the Farm.A pleasant experience to taste very local wine and food. We booked through Venere which included breakfast, some other sites this is extra. I reccomend this hotel for the views and service, you will not be disappointed, however if you wanted a night on the town it is a little remote.

The only grumble we had concerns breakfast: the coffee/water/milk in the machine was never really hot, and the croissants could have been fresher. The biggest problem is finding the hotel (it's further from Sorrento than it appeared). But the accommodation is very good, and the view is stunning.

When we arrived at the property it was around 1:30 in the afternoon but the room was not ready. This was probably because it was off season and they had only half the property open. We had informed Mr. Antonio about our coming early. We had to wait until 3:30 to get the room. This was the only minor problem during our stay. Everything else was perfect. The view was wonderful. The rooms were very clean and spacious. On the day we left, the taxi we had booked for a 5:30 AM departure did not show up. However, the owner Mr. Antonio personally dropped us at the train station. That was really very nice of him! Excellent customer service! We highly recommend this hotel!

Travelled from Rome to Sorrento by car just before xmas. Traffic was dreadful, better to take the train to Naples and hire a car from there. The views from the hotel were spectacular. Breakfast consisted of muesli, toast and cakes. The owner was extremely helpful, gave great advice. The apartment was not 2 rooms but an open planned room on two levels. In the evenings it could be quite cold, altho' there was a little electric heater. There is an restaurant - which offers a free shuttle service to and from the hotel - the food was excellent, but make sure to see a menu with prices before you order.

Excellent hotel and friendly staff. Splendid view over the Sorrento bay. Very quiet location. It's 15 minutes drive from Sorrento. A car would be a good idea but there is a bus stop just in front of the hotel. You need one day to find out the public transport system. Bus stop locations in Sorrento can vary depending on what time it is and bus lines are not numbered. You can better ask the driver if he brings you to via Nostra Verde. Take the bus and not the overpriced taxies (40 euros). The hotel has no restaurant but just down the road at 50 meters is another hotel where you can have a meal. Check if it's open before because it wasn't open every day. Although the weather was terrible during our stay, we had a splendid holiday and we recommand you this hotel !

This place is great. The people are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was more than adequate. View was spectacular. I would highly recommend Le Terrazze. Only glitch is the bus from Sorrento; it takes a few times to get the stop right.
