Lovely family-run hotel. Very helpful staff. Clean and well maintained. Not really soundproof though. It was a bit disturbing to hear other guests walking and thumping in their rooms and the hallway at night. Hairdryer in bathroom useless. Bring your own. Excellent waterpressure in the shower. Nice breakfast with tea, coffee, juice, yoghurt, cereal, canned fruits, croissants, bread rolls, toast, marmelade, cheese, salami, boiled eggs, pastries. Beautiful pool and surrounding area. Good location with only 10 minutes brisk walk to Piazza Tasso. Road right outside hotel is quite narrow and not really walking-friendly with busy traffic. All in all, I would certainly recommend this hotel to my friends!

I chose this hotel, because I wanted a hotel in walking distance to the public transports in Sorrento. We were on a sightseeing trip, not on holiday. We had lovely rooms with view onto Vesuvio and the sea. The owner family was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was not too exciting, but I enjoyed a swim in clean water at the pool area to relax after our sightseeing trips.

Wonderful, wonderful. The front desk was amazingly helpful and suportive. BUT, the hotel is closer (by far) to the S. Agnello station than Sorrento proper, as the desk immediately informed us. Save yourself some steps.

The staff were very helpful, the hotel was better and nicer than i thought it would be. bit of a walk to the centre of town. the only thing is, they should invest in shower doors instead of curtins! all in all, it was a very nice place to stay and i would recommend it!

We stayed in a garden view room, which was clean and extremely spacious. The buffet breakfast exceeded expectations, fresh rolls, pastries, cakes, fruit and also cold meats and cheese. It is a good 10-15 minutes walk into Sorrento city centre along a busy road.

We stayed in a garden view double room which was very nice. My mother in law had a single at the front which was a bit noisy from traffic. The gardens and pool area are both very pleasant and we appreciated fresh oranges from the trees at breakfast time. The buffet breakfast was good, fresh rolls, cold meats and cheese and a large variety of cakes etc. The walk into Sorrento city centre is fine for able-bodied people. We had to use taxis whenever mother in law went out and these were expensive on Sundays and evenings but a taxi would have been necessary for her even if we had been more central. Family run hotel, very professional and friendly.

The hotel owners were very warm, interested and helpful always. Turning left outside the hotel took us to San Angelo which had some excellent restaurants and a Tuesday market. Sorrento a bit further going right, but buses were easy. A lovely centre for exploring further afield.

This was ouar first time at Hotel Girasole. We were upgraded to a room with a sea view which was a dilight. Would not have liked to have had a room on the front of the hotel which faced a very busy, noisy road.

We stayed for 7 nights at Hotel Girasole. It was a very pleasant hotel, the staff were very friendly and it was good value for money. Be prepared for a 15-20 minute walk into the centre of sorrento, although this was fine for us. The hotel also has a very nice pool and grounds with lemon/lime trees, but unfortunately the weather was too cold for us take advantage of these.

Disadvantages with the hotel are i) hotel is placed by the main road into Sorrento. This is a narrow road which is relatively noisy. I had a single room that faced this road so it was impossible for me to have the window open at night. ii)For about 100m, near the hotel, the walk into Sorrento centre is made hazardous by a lack of a pedestrian pathway on the oneside of the road and a very narrow path on the opposite side of the road. Otherwise a well run 3 star hotel

Comfortable hotel, spacious room, good choice at breakfast, very friendly, helpful staff. Long walk into centre of town, very busy road, bus does stop nearby. A few young families, mostly more mature couples staying. Good range of reasonable restaurants and bars closer to centre. would recommend "Il Leone Rosso" in Via Marziale, near the station.Ask for garden or sea view room.

Noise from traffic is the only problem as the hotel is on the main road into Sorrento. Cannot fault the hospitality nor the quality of breakfast food available(remember it is continental breakfast) Pool is secluded amongst the lemon/orange/grapefruit trees and has refreshments available all day if you wish to spend the day lounging about.

Poorly located at least 15 minutes from either railway station on a busy main road, where the pavement frequently is too narrow. A pity, because the staff work hard to give a quality service within the limitations of the location and the breakfast was excellent value. Suits budget travellers, but if you can afford to pay more for a less inconvenient location, you probably won't regret it.

The people were very friendly at the hotel. Our room was very small for a family of 4 with 2 being teenagers.(quad). The location was poor. It was at the edge of the town and the sidewalk to the town at certain areas was very narrow and you would have to walk on a very busy main street. We were far from beach area and the main facilities in town.

The hotel is on a main road with a narrow footpath. I would advise spending a little more so that you can have a garden room or sea view and avoid the traffic. The hotel itself is run by a helpful and friendly family with a wide knowledge of the area. The continental buffet breakfasts are generous with a wide range to suit most tastes. All areas were well kept and clean. The rooms were of a good size. Check out nearby S. Agnello (10 mins walk in opposite direction to Sorrento) for more reasonably priced qulaity eating places. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

This lovely hotel is runned by the Davide's family in a totally friendly way. We felt like be at home during our stay there. The view from the balcony is just great. The place is very quiet and the citric plantation is unique ! The swiming pool is well maintained and has an spectacular view of the Vesubio vulcan. In fact....highly recommended.

Very friendly and welcoming staff on reception. However, hotel is on busy main road and rooms are not very well soundproofed. Quite a long walk into town along a very busy road. Also a fair walk from nearest station (Sant'Agnello). Still, the hotel was overall good value.

Nice little hotel, very friendly and welcoming staff but quite noisy due to the thin walls. The main road that the hotel is on is a bit of a nightmare, with a very narrow path. Sorrento town is lovely and the food is great at most places, if a little expensive.

The staff were wonderful. They would make conversation in english and could not be more helpful. Last day they held our bags so we could take one last tour. They even offered us a shower to use later that day. Small balcony with a great view of naples. Nice pool and garden is relaxing and very well kept. Good breakfast with American coffee as an option.

My wife and I felt this was one of the most pleasant stays we had during our trip to Italy. The staff were outstanding and the room was spotless and nicely decorated. The 15 minute walk downtown is along a busy and sometimes narrow street but you can easily catch the bus if you wish. On our last morning we were leaving before breakfast was served but we found a huge packed breakfast waiting for us at the front desk. This is definitely good value for money!

The only comment is regarding breakfasts respectively poor variety of foods. We stay there in March 2007 for three days and every day was same choice of prosciuto, cheese (ementaler type), salami and sweet varieties. I can hardly imagine be there for one week and have the same food. :-) Other services were perfect. The reception team is really cordial, ready to help and advice. We recommend GIRASOLE to everybody. The Girasole was a last minute change for us and we were very pleased. It is a nice place, a little out of the main part of town, but certainly easily accessible to everything. Our room had a beautiful view of the garden, Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. The owners/staff were all very friendly and helpful. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay and would recommend this to anyone wishing a relaxing stay in Sorrento.

Busy, family run hotel. Welcoming hosts, great breakfast and clean rooms. Bathrooms a little old but in good working order. A little further out of the centre than we had originally thought, but an easy 15 minute walk on the flat. The owners can recommend an excellent pizzaeria/restaurant that is certainly not a tourist trap and full of 'locals'

Hotel is very new and facilities keep very good conditions and clean. Public places like holl and gardens has enough space for comfortable stay. Especially hotel people are very kind and friendly at everytime and we felt family-like atmosphere. The only thing which was not unsatisfied is the location of hotel, it if far from center from Sorrento downtown. We would like to say thank you for hotel people's welcoming !

Satisfactory hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. We had a room right next to the lift which was extremely noisy but this was probably an exception. Lovely swimming pool. Walk to Sorrento town centre is about 15 minutes along a very busy narrow and polluted road.

The hotel's location is its only weakness: it is about a 15-minute walk from the hotel to the center of Sorrento, along a narrow street with very heavy traffic. (Public buses are easily available, however walking helps reduce the effect of the excellent food.) Overall the hotel was very nice, and its breakfast was better than most in terms of variety, quantity and quality. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and most rooms have beautiful views of the Bay of Naples.

We stayed in July/August and had a fab time. Was a lovely hotel, nice friendly family run hotel, clean with generally good facilities. Only thing that was really disappointing was the bar was shut every night when we would get back about half 11 which I do not think is very late when you are on your holidays. It would have been lovely to take one drink upstairs last thing at night and sit out on the balcony which had absolutely stunning views. If you can pay the extra get a sea view room.Having been all along the Amalfi coast I would definitely say the views must be one of the best in the area. Overall I would recommend Hotel Girasole to anyone. PS the walk to town is not that bad at all plus there's a cheap bus if you are lazy.

We spent 6 nights at Girasole. The hotel is family run and very friendly. The rooms are spacious and clean. We had a room overlooking the lovely gardens. The pool is a very short walk from the hotel so no rooms actually overlook it which means they are quieter. The pool area is really nice and quiet and surrounded by orange and lemon trees. There is a bar where snacks are served by the pool and everything is home made and typically italian. We booked quite late and had a fairly small budget and thought we got good value for money. The hotel is a 15 minute walk to the centre but was no problem. Would definitely recommend Hotel Girasole!!

We were very pleased with Hotel Girasole. It is a family run hotel and they took particular care to ensure our stay was pleasant and comfortable. We stayed in rooms at the back of the hotel, which were very quiet. The garden is pleasant. We recommend this hotel.
