Hotel is in excellent location. If not for many guests slamming their doors and talking loudly when walking in the hall the room would have been excellent. The elevator is small and jerks when it operates. Breakfast has small selection but good.

The Hotel is an oasis of peace and calm. Sorrento may be lovely but the crush of tourists is exhausting. Aptly named the Eden gives you a place to escape and recharge.

This is an exceptionally well located hotel - a short walk down an alley takes you right out onto Corso Italia the main street of the town. You can walk to all main attractions from the hotel: the piazza, the railway station, the restaurants and marina piccolo. We chose to pay a small extra amount to have a room with a view and were extremely glad we did. On the Bay of Naples side of the hotel we had a great view of the bay, Naples & Mt Vesuvius. The room was smallish but most comfortable with an excellent bathroom (all modern fittings). We liked the bright modern colourful decor. The lift was adequate if a little slow but worked well. The hotel caters for a range of travellers - we noticed quite a number of older experienced tourists but there were also younger couples and some families. Some were return clients while a number were staying several days or a week (Sorrento is a superb location as a departure point for Positano, Amalfi, Ravello and Capri. It is also a wonderful place to relax and unwind). We were within easy reach of a large number of restaurants and cafes. We chose an excellent restaurant on via Correale. We liked Tasco so much we went back a second night. The set menu arrangement at the hotel did not suit us and the food the one night we dined there was average and certainly did not appeal a second time. In contrast the breakfast offering was great. Cereal, fruit, yoghurt, coffee, croissants and even scrambled egg. This was more than enough to start the day. Luigi was a wonderful host and most helpful despite his limited english - nevertheless we managed to understand each other. We would recommend the hotel most highly and have in fact told several travel agent friends about it. We would stay again if we went back to Sorrento. It was excellent value for money and a most enjoyable place to stay especially just before the height of the season. The staff understood their role in the business and were keen to ensure we had a wonderf

Conviniently located. They have a back entrance that leads to the main street going to Tasso. Its just a 5 minute walk to the Circumvisuviana Station and the bus stop is just a few meters away. The restaurant within the compound serves very good seafood and pizza. In ou 5 nights stay we had lunch once and dinner 4 times. The service in the restaurant is very good and they serve the food within a few minutes.

We have stayed here 3 times before and were aware that the hotel had changed hands. The new owners were spending a lot of time and money smartening up the hotel and it was looking lovely - especially the gardens. The welcome, as always, is lovely and we shall return again next year. Niki and Lee

The staff were very welcoming and helpful and gave us a choice of rooms and we were allowed to take the larger of the rooms with seperate bedroom for my 16 year old daughter. This also had a large balcony. The rooms are adequate if somewhat basic, but the hotel is well placed to access the main square and seafront of Sorrento which saved money on cabs and a lot of walking. It was also only 10 min walk from the main station. The shared swimming pool was great and the hotel charge 6 euros for a sunbed or free for a chair. The breakfast was continental style , but again plenty enough to set you up for the day. For the price the hotel was ok overall and the staff friendly and helpful.

This was my first time to the Sorrento area. The hotel's good points were that the staff was friendly, it was very close to the train station, the center of town, a back door to the main street eliminating a long walk, and being on the fifth floor had a great view of Mt. Vesuvius. The bad points were that the shower stall was very, very small even for my wife and the room had ants around the sink area when wet. The breakfast consists of sandwich meat, cheese, cereal, bread, coffee, etc.

My room was simply a prison cell... no view whatsoever, but i could hear everithng what was happening on the corridor. Bed was a kind of a foldable one...? ther was no information about phone numbers (even to the reception desk) or price-list for mini-fridge (but! there is a KEY to the fringe, how strange is that?) batroom wasnt in the best shape, and all the furniture remembers better times (70s?)Breakfast is served between 7-9 am, so i never experienced that; only at the departure (morning flight). Except the location there is nothing good there.

We stayed 4 nights and no doubt the best thing about the hotel is it's location, a short walk to the trains and to the boats plus a rear doorway to the main street. the rooms are basic but adequate, they offer no luxury at all, and the smallest shower cubicle i've ever seen. it was unfortunate that our stay coincided with the end of the school trip season as the student noise late at night on 2 nights was a problem. next time i would either avoid february or choose a better rated hotel. the staff were ok and helpful with questions. the breakfast was good and fairly plentiful but lacked variety, ok for a short stay. we were going to base ourselves in naples and do all the tours, but instead decided on sorrento, after visiting naples i can only say i'm glad we did and for the cost and location hotel eden was fine for a short stay.

This hotel has, above all, an EXCELLENT location. Through an almost "secret" passage you can go directly to Corso Italia, at walking distance from Piazza Tasso, the very center of the city. Rooms are huge: I would recommend it for small groups traveling together. Cristina, at the reception, was extremely warm, helpful and professional. The rest of the staff was also very kind and professional. It was an excellent experience to be in such a beautiful city as Sorrento, and in a hotel as the Eden. I hope to be back in the near future. Don't miss it if you're spending some days there!!!

My husband and I stayed there for one week. Our only complaint is that the bathroom was too small. We stayed in room 201(I think!) The location was excellent, close to the bus- and train-station and the main street. But no hotelrooms had windows on to this street, and there was hardly any noise from the traffic.. We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Eden very much and will be back.

The hotel suroundings and views are good. But insiide the rooms were very old furnished, cold, in our room, for me and my girlfriend there was a extra double bunk bed, which was absolutely horible. It took the staff more than 48h after our request for the bed to be removed. We were so unhappy that we spend half a day looking around for a different hotel, but could not find any. Furhter the fan in the bathroom was about to explode... The towels that we were given were looking like cheap sheets. And the beautiful pool we were asked to pay extra 6 euros.... this was ment to be our romantic get away with my girlfriend for the price of 417euros , but it turn out to be more of a disaster. We will never go back there again and will never recoment this place to anyone. i have better expirience in a bed&breakfast placed fo less than half of that money. And finally but not last after we complaint for the first 2 days of our stay no one try to compensate our trouble, thanks god they have removed the bunk bed... Regards Yours Vladimir Penev

The staff were outstanding, and spoke English as well as Italian. The room was quite plain and the furnishings and covers were a bit primitive considering the price. However the room was clean and the bathroom was a good size. The airconditioning worked very well. The first morning, our hot water did not work, but the maintenance man came within minutes and fixed it. The pool was very nice, but there was no place to hang wet bathing suits or towels. The restaurant next to the hotel was outstanding, both in service and quality of food. The price was reasonable also, and the children were able to play in the park after dinner while we had a glass of wine and spoke with other parents.

Having read other reviews regarding Eden, we were aprehensive to say the least. However, upon arrival we were pleasantly suprised to find the hotel staff were friendly, the room was clean & the location was excellent. I would definately recommend the Eden if all you want is somewhere to sleep that's clean & cheap. We didn't eat there but if you do stay there try the Photo Bar that's virtually next door, the food & surroundings are both great & they really know how to look after you.

Location for the hotel is oustanding. However, it is unfortunate to be charged EU 140 per a recently renovated room with a bathroom were the shower is almost unaccesible (quoted) for a tiny human being (120 pounds). I would challenge the "genious" person who built that "torture box" to try even once to have a shower inside whithout knocking his/her body on every movement. In addition, if you would like to lose weigth, please dont miss the breakfast there.

The rooms don't look like the pictures. It was pretty ugly and we had a cracked mirror. It shouldn't be a three star hotel. The walls were also scuffed and dirty. I would not stay here again, but the location to the piazza is very nice. The staff wasn't very friendly, and didn't want to split the price on our credit cards.

I was staying in a single room so I imagine that the lack of space was due to the fact that it was just that...a single (at 80 euro it was way over priced). My complaint lies more with the fact that after you have paid too much for a room you go to lie by the pool (that is much advertised) and you then get told that it will cost you an additional 5 euros. I thought it was a bit tacky and unwelcoming. However, Sorrento is beautiful and the hotel location was great.

My family and I stayed in a quad room, which turned out to be nicer than I had anticipated. We were on the 1st floor, but because we were in a building connected to the main building, we weren't at ground level and we had a really nice view of Mt. Vesuvius from our bedroom window! The staff were very nice and the hotel was very conveniently located to the center of town. A few complaints were that the beds were rock hard--it was like sleeping on a slab of concrete, no kidding--the jacuzzi bath tub and shower curtain really needed a good scrub because there was mildew all over both, and the breakfast was pretty forgettable--pretty much a lot of packaged goods, a little fresh fruit, bad coffee machine. Overall I would stay here again because of the location, the pool privelages, and the beauty of the hotel grounds.

We requested a room with a view, and did receive one. The view of the bay was very nice. However, the toilet in our room made a terrible noise when refilling which could not be silenced (it would run for hours, even after multiple flushings). When we informed the hotel staff they said they would send someone up to fix it. They never did. After 3 days, the toilet was still keeping us up at night. When finally we asked for another room, if they were not going to fix it. The staff said, "Why would you want to move with just one more night to spend here?" The staff was very unresponsive, and a bit rude in thier dealings with us. I would try the Grand hotel down the street next time (as I stayed there once before).

Good location -- right by centre of town and very convenient, pleasant staff, wonderful view of Naples and Vesuvius from 5th floor room 508, with huge terrace. However, room rather spartan and twin beds very narrow and rather hard. Breakfast was disappointing -- terrible coffee, and no croissants by 0830. School parties were a bit of a noisy nuisance, too.

Hotel Eden is an excellent choice for a reasonable place to stay while seeing Sorrento and the surrounding area. It is within an easy walk of the train/bus station, the ferry harbor, and the city center. It is on a quiet street, yet only one block from the main square. The room was immaculate and godd sized for European hotels. There was one english language channel (BBC news) on the tv. Computer access (for a fee) is available in the lobby. Breakfast buffet included frsh pastry and a cappacino machine.

Hotel Eden is one of the best hotels I stayed at during my 3-week visit to Italy. It is very closed to the town center and about 10-minute walk to the train station. The staff were very helpful and let me store my luggage while I tour Positano. I'll definitely stay at the Hotel Eden again when I visit the southern parts of Italy. Email system - their computer is old and outdate. I felt that I wasted my 3 euros for the 30 minutes alloted to me. Not knowing Italian, I had difficult time opening and reading my email.

The Hotel Eden provides a very clean and comfortable environment for travellers. It is conveniently located, being about a 10 minute walk from the train and bus station, and an even closer walk to the central Piazza Tasso. The adjoining restaurant is also one of the best values in the area for good italian cuisine. I definitely intend to stay there again on my next visit to the area. One very pleasant bonus - the view of Mount Vesuvius from the window of my room was postcard worthy! Also, the freshly baked lemon and chocolate filled croissants available at breakfast are among the best I've had anywhere.

Nothing is cheap in Sorrento but Hotel Eden is good value in the context. The hotel is located up a quiet laneway with most of its rooms facing towards the water. We had a reasonably sized room on the fourth floor, high enough to get a great view over the Bay of Naples. The room and bathroom were clean and functional. There was space for our suitcases. The TV reception included both BBC World and CNN. The staff spoke English and were very helpful. Breakfast, served in a very large room, consisted of juice, cereal, rolls & bread, yogurt, sliced meat and cheese, coffee. We would certainly return here and would recommend Hotel Eden.

The breakfast was very poor and on at least one day by 8.30 they were running out of supplies which had been vacumed up by school parties. The coffee was possibly the worst I have tasted in the world and the juice was weaker than orange squash. At the time the staff offered no apology though the manager did on departure by giving us a bottle of local fire water to say sorry!! Thanks We had asked for a four bed room and were delighted to be given a junior suite with two separate bedrooms 1 double & 1 twin, ideal for children. An excellent arrangement we were not expecting. Hotel location for convenience is fantastic, right in the centre of town but very quiet, no traffic noise at all. Short walk to Circumvesuviana train (Ercolano, Vesuvio & Pompeii) and to Ferry Terminal (Naples, Capri & Amalfi Coast) Sorrento is expensive and the hotel is by no means cheap for a 3* however overall the room and location made it a good place to stay and one I'd consider again if visiting with my family.

We arrived in Sorrento by bus from Naples and got off in Taso Square then walked the short distance to the hotel Eden. Our first impression was of the lovely driveway and entrance to the hotel. This was our first holiday booked on the internet and we were apprehensive when we handed our printed booking form to the receptionist. All was well and the lady said that she was expecting us and that she had a lovely room for us.We were on the fourth floor with an amazing view over the tree lined driveway looking at the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. The room was clean and well maintained with air con and mini bar,the bathroom also very clean with a small shower and no bath.NO TRAFFIC NOISE and we slept very well. The breakfast was excellent with plenty to eat.The rear entrance was through a corridor at the side of the building and it led us right into one of the main shopping streets off Taso Square (very handy). We shared the swiming pool which was owned by the hotel next door, lovely pool and plenty of sun loungers.Over all we were very happy with our stay at the Eden

An initial problem over the use of the swimming pool was quickly overcome but in truth was probably caused by the fact the season was almost over. The room (quad was adequate and represented value for money)This hotel is good value for money although you could find faults, if you searched, the location so near to the town center and transport links this compensates for shortfalls in luxury. The breakfast was basic but adequate and at times was swamped by school parties if you got the time wrong. However we had a lovely time, the staff were helpful and we felt that we got value for money. The hotel is advertised as a three star and that is what you get. If you are looking for luxury, fancy breakfasts etc this is not the hotel for you. However the area is pleasant , safe and relatively quiet the rooms are clean and the water is hot.

Excellent hotel.excellent location. only one complaint poor selection of breakfast food available considering high numbers of british guests which spoilt the start of the day.we would stay here again and enjoy the delights of the adjoining restaurant which was supurb, excellent menu, excellent service.

Distinctly average hotel. It'll do for convenieance to the town centre but that is about it. The breakfast can only be described as an abomination. Hideous attempt at fruit juice made from syrup concentrates mixed up with water, knackerd croissants, and truly appaling tea making facilities. It was enough to make us skip it and go to a local bakers for a fresh pastry and a cup of coffee that was at least strong enough to defend itself.

The hotel Eden was very nice to stay in, the view from our room was beautiful (look on bay of Naples and Vesusio). Nice staff, everything OK. The only strange thing was that in our bathroom the toilet was placed in an impossible position to sit properly on it! And after my stay in Sorrento I saw on Venere.com a special offer (if you stay 7 nights, which we did) + free dinner which was not offered to me when booking! So that is booring! The restaurant connected to the hotel is excellent, good meals reasonable prices, very good staff!

Overall, this is a middle of the road hotel at a moderate price. It's perfect if you don't want anything fancy and you want to be close to the city center. It's clean and very close to restaurants and shopping. Not close to the beach, but the beach in Sorrento is nothing to write home about. The staff was friendly and accomodating with providing directions and fulfilling requests, except for our request for extra towels and the bath towels were a little thin.

The main reason to recommend this hotel is its location - five minutes from Piazza Tasso square.Other than that I found it depressing and dreary, from the lacklustre breakfast (the dining room AND choice of fare) to the small room (which looked out onto a wall) I was given. As always single travellers get the short end of the stick and this was no exception. I also think the staff could have been more friendly and welcoming. They were polite but cold.. this was absolutely untypical of my experience of Italians in Sorrento so I was disappointed. Fortunately I only had to stay one night. For reasons of convenience, it was excellent. Did I actually enjoy staying there, unfortunately the answer is no.

The location of Hotel Eden is very good. Its just 3 minutes walking distance from the main piazza of Sorrento. I have stayed in the single room on the 5th floor and although my room was tiny, it was OK for me. Plus i had a very nice view of the Napels Bay. The room was very clean, breakfast was satisfying and the staff was welcoming and helpful. If i ever go to Sorrento again, I will stay at Eden. P.S. There is an excellent restaurant right in front of the Hotel, best meal i had in Italy :)

Two rooms booked one for my two parents aged 55/57 and one for myself and wife 33/33 and our daughter aged 2. On arrival we were handed our keys and had to make our own way to the rooms. The first room had only two working lights out of about five. There was a balcony with quite panoramic views which compensated. My parents had this room and although disappointed at first, were happier when they could find powerpoints to use. Their main complaint was the lighting and the small bathroom. The room allocated to my wife, daughter and I was something different altogether. In this hotel there are two rooms with a terrace affording magnificent views of the Bay, Vesuvius and Naples. The rooms were advertised at 166 Euro per night and are well worth the extra. Having travelled extensively in Italy and its islands I found the staff a little sharp and distant however the stay was enjoyable as the pool was good. The hotel advertised heavily the Villa Rubinacci Restaurant next door, the food is excellent but again the service (charged at 15%) was bad to the point of rudeness. Advice to travellers to Sorrento try the Maniello Hotels (Capo Di Monte/ Ambasciatori and pay for the sea view) as they are excellent all round.

Located in the middle of Sorrento without any disturbing noise. Friendly staff. Not to clean but anyway acceptable. The AC had low capasity and was automatically turned off at night - not to pleasant... Anyhow for a three star hotel it was ok. Nice swimmingpool!

The Hotel was recently redecorated. The rooms have very basic furnishings but are clean and functional. Some of the single rooms however are very small. We travelled to Sorrento by rental car so we really appreciated the parking available at the Hotel. There is access to a very nice pool at a neighbouring Hotel but you do have to pay an additional fee. Cost for a towel and access to the pool is 3 Euros per person. We found the rooms to be quiet (little noise from other rooms or the hallway). The location is very central. You are easy walking distance to the centre of Sorrento and an easy walk to train station. The staff was very pleasant and spoke English. Breakfast was limited in choice but the food that was served was good. We would stay at the Hotel Eden again.

A very nice hotel. I could not think of a better location in Sorrento - very close to the main square and the train station but on a quiet side street (with a private exit to the main street!). The hotel mixed up our reservation and as an apology we got a brilliant room with a huge terrace overlooking the pool and the ocean. That was perfect service. Rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast is basic and ends too early (9 am) since it's a holiday resort. The garden and pool are very nice and well taken care of. Restaurant Villa Rubbinacci is nice but service was slow and rude. I recommend this hotel and would definately stay there again!

I only had one problem with this hotel and that was that after my first night stay the air conditioning broke down. The following day I asked to be moved to a room with air conditioning and the girl at the desk wanted me to stay in my room without air con for another night so that she could rent out the room with air con for another night. When I refused to stay in my room she wasn't very happy and was quite rude. After this I felt she was very hostile towards me and very unprofessional. It was a shame really because apart from that the hotel was really good and in a great position.

Nice clean hotel. Excellent central location but still quiet - not on the main road Corse Italia. Breakfast was a bit basic, but adequate. Price is probably reasonable for the location and quality.

I found the hotel an excellent place to stay. Probably since it was late in the season, my request for a single room was upgraded to a double. This was certainly fine for me. So several of the above excellents might have been a bit different in a single room. The hotel was very close to the main square and the main street just as indicated. Another plus was the restaurant next to the hotel, Villa Rubinacci. I ate here several times. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. The service and atmosphere were also fine. I would certainly consider staying here again.

Good value for money hotel in a very convenient location. Staff helpful. The quality of the breakfasts were poor however with not sufficient variety. The site should state the pool is shared with another hotel.

Woman at reception was VERY helpful, calling bus company to determine when busses would be running on my day of departure, which was the big national sciopero (strike) day. She also arranged to get a writing table for my small room (no luggage racks even provided in any rooms). A hoard of school children were on my floor and seemed to spend most of their time screaming in the hall outside my room, but luckily that was only one night and only for a few hours, Breakfast ended very early (9:00) and even then much of the food was gone already. Location was ideal and the hotel's restaurant recommendations were excellent.
