Great hotel in the beautiful Grand Marina. Not easy to find and a bit outside the city center, but a perfekt location by the sea. Great view from the room and roof terrace on the gulf of Naples and Vesuvio.

Hotel Del Mare was a decent hotel. Its next to the beach, but away from the center of Sorrento. Its easy to get there though if you just take a path up the cliff, about a 10-15 minute walk. The bus to town and which also takes you to the bus metro terminal comes hourly, so the location of the hotel is not ideal but most of the other hotels are not in town either and will require some sort of walk. It didn't look quite like how the pictures portrayed it, but it was clean and quite. I travelled with three friends and we asked for a room for three and got a double with a fold out bed from the wall. The shower is quite small with enough room to just turn around in. A continential breakfast is included which was nice. Overall it was an average and affordable stay, but not too much to complain about.

We highly recommend the Hotel del Mare. It's clean, quiet, comfortable and only a few paces from the small beach and harbour-side restaurants of Marina Grande. Steps and a footpath lead up from the harbour to the town centre in only 10 mins or so, or there is a twice-hourly bus for 2 Euros. The hotel's roof terrace has great views and is a sun trap in the mornings (but shaded in the afternoon, at least in early September). Overall, we had a fantastic stay at the Hotel del Mare.

Wonderful location in the older part of Sorrento, away from all the hustle & bustle but a close enough walk to access all you need. Very high quality accommodation, a bargain at these prices with an excellent breakfast. A must for us if in Sorrento again.

We were very happy with our experience at Hotel Del Mare .. unfortunately Venere did not cancel a previous cancellation that we had made several months prior which caused some minor confusion as we had two reservations that overlapped. However everything else was good.

This was our first time in Sorrento --we found the hotel stuff to be wonderful, both in their frindliness & their information provided to us--they went above & beyond. I would highly recommend this hotel & indeed if we ever return to the area it would be our first choice,

Hotel Del Mare was a lovely place to stay whilst in Sorrento. It defintiely feels like more than a 3-star!

The Hotel Del Mare was very nice. The hotel is away from the hustle of Sorrento and you can walk to the downtown area. You must be able to walk up a steep hill for about 1/2 mile. Well worth it. The tile floors in the hotel are very nice. The breakfast was great. The staff very nice and helpful. If you are a big person you might have a problem with the shower...its small. No problem for me though. The restaurant at the bottom of the hill was very nice. Also the small store there packed us a great panini to take with us to Pompeii. We also took the ferry to Amalfi, open air bus to Ravello and the bus back. A great stay.

Absolutely fantastic hotel. Located in nicest part of Sorrento in the Marina Grande. This is the real Sorrento. The staff is exceptional as well as management. I have stayed here before and will continue to remain a client of Hotel del Mare. This is a great location to visit the Amalfi Coast, Capri and Naples.

the biggest problem with our room was that when we opened the windows we were looking straight into an apartment that seemed to be residential accross from our room which left it that we couldn't open the window.

Parcheggio € 10 a giorno.

Close to the Marina Grande, which is much nicer than central Sorrento for dinner. Do not rely on your GPS navigator to find the hotel! Use it to find via degli Aranci, then follow the hotel instructions (drive via degli Aranci to T-junction, turn right 180 degrees, after 50 m turn right again 180 degrees).

This was a great hotel. It was located just down the path to the water. There you could experience the local life and pick up a panini at the store. We were only a 10 min walk from the heart of Sorrento. Close enough to visit, yet far enough not to be bothered by the traffic noise. The entire hotel is wireless ... are real bonus with older kids. It was fully renovated only 2 years ago. It was the hotel my kids loved the most. I would definitely recommend.

I reserved a room with balcony, but it didn't occur to me that room without the balcony is more expensive (we wanted to change from the noisy street side to the quiet side and and wanted to have the sea view). This should be mentioned at the website - so wouldn't have too high expectetations.

Hotel room was first class. Beautiful painted tiles on walls and floors. a few restaurants within a couple of minutes walking distance. tattoria emilia was a little disappointing. you can find better food at restaurants in town. best of all was the walk through the fishing village to the town center-- the back alleys were simply charming. first of all, it is a living fishing village, i.e. people live and go to work, etc. at every corner, you come across religious shrines. the walk is very pleasant and not tedious at all. i would stay at Hotel Del Mare just to do the walk to the town center!

1. The photo of the lounge chairs on the deck is what convinced us on line to book this particular hotel - the chairs were put away for our stay and not available when requested. 2. The hotel was so delightful - we had booked for one night, stayed for 3 - only problem was that the last 2 nights were at a higher rate than expected, but the hotel and employees and good breakfast were too good to move. 3. Your Venere services could have done a better job at giving us directions (we were driving a car) to find the hotel; had to stop and ask and make several wrong turns.

SUPER VALUE HOTEL IN QUIET LOCATION. THOUGH SMALL, OUR ROOM HAD A GREAT BED, SEA VIEW AND A FEW NICE TOUCHES. V. HELPFUL, FRIENDLY STAFF WHO SPOKE GOOD ENGLISH. EXCELLENT BUFFET BREAKFAST IN THE INTERESTING RENOVATED CELLAR. THE HOTEL'S LOCATION,MARINA GRANDE (THE SMALL HARBOUR!), PROVED A LITTLE DIFFICULT TO FIND AT NIGHT IN THE MARCH DRIZZLE; FROM THE STATION WALK DOWNHILL AND TURN LEFT (EAST). AFTER 400M OR SO BY THE ESSO GARAGE GO DOWN SOME STEPS TO THE RIGHT TO MEET THE ROAD THAT GOES UNDER THE BRIDGE. GO THROUGH THE TUNNEL AND THE YELLOW HOTEL CAN BE SEEN IN FRONT OF YOU. THERE ARE SOME STEPS INTO TOWN WHICH ARE A MORE INTERESTING AND SHORTER ROUTE BUT ARE A BIT HARDER TO LOCATE ON ARRIVAL. TRAVEL LIGHT AND USE THE EXCELLENT PUBLIC TRANSPORT NETWORK TO GET AROUND; THE CURRERI COACH (7 EUROS) FROM RIGHT OUTSIDE THE NAPLES AIRPORT ARRIVALS WAS DEAD EASY AND STOPS ON THE MAIN ROAD BELOW THE STATION IN SORRENTO - A 15 MIN WALK FROM THE HOTEL. THE LOCAL BUSES TO MARINA GRANDE ARE EVERY HOUR OR SO - BUY TICKETS FROM SITA BUS AGENTS OR TOBACCONISTS AND VALIDATE THEM IN THE MACHINE ON THE BUS. SEE POMPEII ETC FROM SORRENTO. AMALFI IS A 90 MIN BUS JOURNEY WHICH SOME MAY FIND SCARY AND/OR SICK INDUCING! BOATS ARE THE BEST WAY (THOUGH MORE EXPENSIVE) TO GET AROUND BUT MANY DO NOT RUN OUT OF SEASON OR IF THE SEA IS ROUGH. AVOID DRIVING UNLESS YOU ARE A RICH, IMPERTURBABLE MASOCHIST. NAPLES AND SORRENTO ARE BUSY CITIES, OFTEN GRIDLOCKED. ROADS ARE V. NARROW, DRIVERS SUICIDAL AND PARKING EXTORTIONATE WHEN IT CAN BE FOUND. THE AMALFI COAST IS MUCH PRETTIER AND MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE URBAN SPRAWL BETWEEN NAPLES AND SORRENTO. IF YOU ARE ON A TIGHT BUDGET, EATING OUT IS GENERALLY MORE EXPENSIVE THAN IN THE UK: STAY AT HOTEL DEL MARE!

The hotel is in an interesting part of Sorrento, near Marina Grande. It is a short walk to the water where there are some nice (if expensive) restaurants. The room was comfortable and clean with a view overlooking the water and Mt Vesuvius but I expected better. Breakfast was very good for a 3-star hotel.

Very friendly and helpful staff, our only bugbear was the location which was very difficult to find and meant you have to walk some distance back into the main centre of Sorrento. That's OK on the first day but after a few days heavy sightseeing, it became more of an issue. Flip side is that it is probably quieter than a more central hotel, so on balance probably a good choice for us!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 days in Sorrento and at the Hotel del Mare. Although the rooms are small, the amenities and location more than made up for that. Breakfast was great, and the breakfast room was wonderful. Although the weather was not great, we did sit on the terrace, and enjoyed the view. Would definitely stay there again.

This property was nice, as was the staff, and the breakfast was one of the best we had in Italy. We were somewhat disappointed though due to the pictures we saw on the website. One of the reasons we chose this hotel was because it sounded like it was somewhat secluded and located right in/near the fishing village/marina. When we arrived, the staff told us that though we booked a "balcony" room, they thought we meant a "sea view room", which is what we meant. The website lists "balcony room" and is more expensive than the other rooms, so we assumed this one was the sea view room. It's not. Even so, they were very helpful and moved us into the seaview room. It was a little disappointing because the hotel was located above a myriad of apartment buildings, so when you look out the window, you had a great view of Mt. Vesuvius across the bay, but not of the little fishing village. Overall, I would stay here again for the staff and breakfast, but might consider another hotel if we were looking for better ambience. Hope this helps!!

The Del Mare is a very clean, very friendly place to stay. The location was perfect. Itis only a 10 minute walk to the town center, and around the corner from the hotel is the quaintest village I have ever seen. There are about 6 restaurants on the beach that served the freshest fish. (we tried four of the restaurants and all were very good) The breakfast was very good, the staff was friendly and went out of thier way when we needed assistance, and the roofdeck is a perfect place to sit and relax after a day of site seeing. I highly recommend the Del Mare for anyone looking for a quiet place to stay near on the outskirts of Sorrento. You are away from the busyness, but close enough to go whenever you want.

The double was a twin bed pushed together & the room & bathroom were very small. The stay was good apart from the noise level. We were awoken in the night afew times,by the sound of someone using the toilet in the other rooms.Walls were too thin for the stay to be peaceful.Beautiful location.

We had a great stay at the Del Mare. Friendly staff, clean room, great location. Air conditioner was a bit noisy, but not too bad. Breakfasts were very good. We stayed in a room with a balcony and although you can't see the sea it is still a nice to have. We had a 9 month old baby with us and the staff were very accomodating. In fact the Italians in gereral were amazing. All the restaurants in the Marina Grande were very welcoming, although Cataldo's did charge cover charge for her which we thought a bit of a cheek! We would definitely go back to Sorrento and stay at the Del Mare again!

Unfortunately, the location of the hotel and the directions provided were absolutely shocking. Once we reached Sorrento it took us two hours to find the hotel and driving the streets elevated our stress levels to the extreme that we were traumatised by the time we finally found it. The concierge recommended a fantastic restaurant on the beach which took our mind off what we endured to actually get there. The breakfast was substantial and value for money. The hotel was in a great location but not recommended for those with disabilities as a reasonable climb uphill is required to get to the main centre of Sorrento. The bathroom and room were a reasonable size but did not meet our expectations for the rates we were paying.

Pleasant location near the beach, not exactly in Sorrento, which we expected and enjoyed. A nice uphill walk to town, but the local fishing village near the hotel was quite charming. We enjoyed the local culture, with church bells Sunday morning and colorful fishing boats around the corner. A few local restaurants were within walking distance on the local beach. We did get bumped the first night to a hotel in Sorrento, probably overbooked, but were upgraded to a pleasant ocean view room for the inconvenience. It happens.

Hotel and staff were nice and helpful. Breakfast was good. location was near marina. But Autobody shops were all around the hotel. I was charged for the stay in USD, causing a 2.5% rate conversion charge and a higher dollar amt. He should have asked if I wanted USD or Euro. Especially since it cost me more becasue he didn't ask. I latter saw on the receipt after signing that I was suppsoed to agree to the USD charge. This was the only place in Italy that did that to me.

This is THE location for Sorrento - a pleasant (uphill!) walk to the main part of town, but set in a quiet marina next to some terrific seafood restaurants. The primary drawback is the room size - these have to be the smallest hotel rooms I have ever seen. Still, the price/value ratio is not too bad, and the location can't be beat. Just be really organized if you stay here!

We found the hotel to be very nice and well worth the money we spent. The staff was pleasant, helpful, and very accommodating and most spoke English. Our stay here was wonderful-we would definitely stay here again We had a room with a balcony (street view) and we felt this was much more to our satisfaction than the window view of the sea overlooking other rooftops. The breaksfast was excellent with more than enough choices and again the staff was very nice. We were however dissapointed in the surrounding properites, but the hotel itself was very clean, nice, comfortable, and a very short walk to the beach of the Marina Grande and local seaside restaurants.

We really enjoyed this hotel. We walked to it from the train station with our luggage, which we wouldn't have done again. It is much easier to take the Circumvesuvania bus from the train station to the hotel. It stops at the Marina Grande, which is right past the hotel. The bus leaves hourly at around 25 past the hour from the marina. We bought a Campania Arte card from the Naples airport American Express office that allowed us to ride the bus for three days with the use of the ticket. There is a market near the hotel that has food and deli meats/cheese. The breakfast at the hotel was the best we had in Italy. There was fruit, cereal, ham, cheese, pastries and hot drinks. The entire hotel was clean and newly renovated with majolica tiles everywhere. The hotel staff was excellent and the restaurant that Carmen's nephew runs is excellent. You can get free transport to/from the restaurant by asking the front desk. We loved the pizza, it was the best we had in all of Italy. You can walk to town from the hotel, though we preferred to ride the bus most days.

The furniture was modern, comfortable and nice. The breakfast buffet was fantastic. The draw-backs of our room (No. 107)were two things: It was at the back side of the building, 2nd floor - so it was rather dark and claustrophobic. And it was next to the lift, which you could hear all night long.

What a fantastic hotel. Very pleasant and helpful staff and we were very pleased with this hotel over all. It seemed to be more than a 3 star. The bus into Sorrento centre is only minutes from the hotel but when you get to be familiar with the location, it is a nice walk to and from the hotel. Ask the staff for directions. We had a very nice stay at this hotel and would not hesitate to recommend it or return ourselves. The only downside is that the corridors are not carpeted and so suitcase noise can be heard and also guests walking along the corridors. Apart from that we had no complaints with this accommodation. Nice breakfast served in the breakfast room which is situated in the basement and is so unusual as one wall is part of the cliff face. This hotel exceeded our expectations and Tony's hot chocolate is to die for.

We absolutely loved our stay here! It was in the quieter area of town which made it feel more authentic. If you walk to the bottom of the hill a fabulous family owned restaurant awaits your tastebuds. Fabulous location! We loved being steps away from a traditional fishing village, and the route up old stone steps into town is charming. The hotel was a real surprise. Surprisingly good! It is easy to realise that the owners really think of the details and care about offering an international standard service. The location is quite good, very close to the Marina and a short walk from the harbor, from where you can reach Capri, Amalfi and Positano. The breakfast is very good, the room is very carefully furnished. The price/quality ratio was amazing. There was a bit of noise in the morning as the kitchen was rigt beside our room. The room itself was really nice. It was clean. The Del Mare Hotel was an excellent choice. Located in a quiet area near the bay. The breakfasts were excellent. My only complaint was that we came in from Naples by ferry and did not know how to get to the hotel. We took a taxi which charged us extra because it was Sunday. The cost was 25 euros which is excess for a 2 mile trip. My suggestion is to hop on the bus to the main square and wait for a bus to the Grand Bay. (One every hour), or walk it is downhill from there. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We spent four nights in this hotel and paid the extra money for a view of the Bay of Naples looking over at Mt. Vesuvius. It was a great spot as you got to experience some authentic Italy in the fishing village and then within a ten minute walk up the steps you were in the more touristy Sorrento town. As with some of our other hotel experiences, we spent quite some time driving around looking for the hotel, which is a bit scary with all of the scooters on the road! To locate this hotel, as you travel along Corso Italia through Sorrento town, there is a left turn just before the small Esso garage - very easy to miss! Continue down this road to the fishing village.

The hotel is clean and modern. If you want a room with a view of Vesuvius as shown in the website be prepared to pay more than the quoted price. Situated right next to the small beach at the Marina Grande, the hotel is hard to find, and you'll need to take the bus up the hill to the town of Sorrento. Great breakfast, the only hotel with a cooked breakfast in our trip around Italy.

This hotel is a little gem. We have travelled extensively around europe and not found a cleaner room. We upgraded to one of the top floor rooms (which I recommend for the fantastic view over Sorrento harbour and Naples Bay). The hotel is in a wonderful position on the old beach and harbour where the fisherman keep their boats. It is a five minute walk from the main centre and at night there is none of the noise associated with Sorrento town. The breakfast is extensive and service fantastic. We cannot praise this hotel enough for the effort made by the staff, cleanliness, room quality and value for money (important!). We cannot praise this hotel enough and you'll not be dissapointed or too much out of pocket.

Wonderful hotel with great, helpful staff. Breakfast was the best we had in Italy--not just pastries, juice and coffee, but meats, cheeses, eggs, cereal, yogurt, and more. Parking was on the narrow street, and we left our car key with the desk in case it needed to be moved. Local bus stops right at hotel and takes you to center of town, very convenient, but you must get ticket at tobacconist around the corner. We would definitely stay again.

Hotel Del Mare was a very nice place to stay. Can't beat the price. It is located in a very beautiful marina area away from the busy part of Sorrento, however a 15 minute walk up a beautiful path leads directly into the city. The rooms are a little small, although we had 2 adults and 2 kids. The accommodations are probably just the right size for 2 people. They have a lovely breakfast area with a buffet type breakfast. Service was outstanding. I will definately consider staying there again on our next trip.

Hotel del Mare was an excellent choice for our three –day stay and a great homebase to dpots on the Amalfi Coast. The center of Sorrento is a fairly short bus ride from the Grande Marina.. We agree with the positive comments stated on the customer-reviews at this website. The Grand Marina area at which the hotel is located is colorful, convenient and just a short walk from the hotel. The breakfast offered each morning was quite excellent and overall this is an excellent hotel for its price range. The roof-top patio is an added plus and a lovely place especially late in the afternoon. We recommend this hotel highly and would return there on any future vacation to Sorrento.

Del Mare was a nice, hotel, with good facilities, accurately described on line. Room was clean and well set out. Liked the idea of a fridge instead of a minibar so you could easily chill your own drinks or keep fruit fresh. Compared to restauaunts in the area beer prices were suprisingly reasonable. Sundeck was very nice and catching sun until reasonabley late meant you could enjoy a day out then a little relaxation in the sun. Location is very good with the marina area which is pictureque and much quieter than the main area of Sorrento. Sorrento was easy walking distance about 15 minutes to the fisrt shops with access to the harbour for boats to Capri, the train station for Pompei and other areas. The staff were very approachable and helpful and the brochure they provided with timetables and local information was invaluable. Breakfast was very good with a selection incuding some hot as well as the typical continental. You needed to be early to catch the full hot options in the serving trays but staff here again were very helpful and woulds get something cooked for you if the servers were empty and even ensure your boiled egg was done to your liking! Our only negative comments were cleaning started at about 7.45-8.00 and with tiled floors throughought the noise echoed so impossible to have a quiet lie in. The bathroom although immaculate and with lovely coloured towels, a nice change from white!, could have a a shower with just a margin more space. Sea view was nice and worth paying the extra to be off the road side of the building but patio doors even without a balcony would have changed great to perfect. Local restaurants priced similarly to everywhere else in the region, would recommend the Dolphini for anyone wanting a warm reception and good advice on menu choices.

This was a great location on the Marina Grande with about a 10-minute walk up stairs to get to town. We didn't mind the walk, but it would be difficult for some people. There is a bus that goes to the town, however, if walking is a problem. The breakfast served in this hotel was the best we had anywhere. The only down side was a ridiculously small shower, but even so we would stay here again.

Very clean, nicely decorated hotel. Seems far from the main town at first but it actually is only a 10-15 minute pleasant walk (albeit uphill if going into town) or you can catch the hourly bus. Rooms are VERY small. Staff were very helpful and all spoke good English. Rooms had great secure blockout shutters however, the rooms and hallways were tiled so VERY noisy when guests were entering/leaving hotel. We weren't aware that there was a restaurant downstairs so didn't end up trying the breakfast - make sure you ask for details!

I was not disapointed with this hotel. It was a pleasant walk to the shopping area of Sorrento and walking up the steps was a lovely way to work off the wonderful breakfast (as other reviewers said it was the best breakfast we found in 3 weeks in Italy). Hotel was clean, staff curtious and location excellent (for those that don't want to walk to the town center this is a bus right outside the hotel). Would difinitely recommend this hotel and found Sorrento to be a great base for touring the Amalfi coast.

Dal Mare hotel is situated in a pretty fishing port on the outskirts of Sorrento - 10 min walk up the steps into town. The hotel is situated behind the harbour opposite a boat yard thet is abit noisy. The hotel is very clean & modern, and the staff very knowledgeable. However, it has no pool, but a sun terrace that gets the sun until about 4pm. But you can always sunbathe on the sun platforms in the bay. Would recommend excellent fish restaurant in the port called Trattoria da Emalia. Overall would recommend Del Mare.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The only problem we had was getting two twin size beds instead of one double. The breakfast was excellent. The location is not the best, but it is close enough to the city center. Upon check out, we were charged in US dolars and that turned out to be at a higher rate that the credit card.

Hotel del Mare was a very pleasant surprise. I expected an ok, quiet hotel a bit off the main tourist track. I got a small but very nice hotel, located in a fishing marina with lots of locals, with great service and a clean and harmonious feeling to it - and a sun terrace with a lovely view of Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples to boot. The walk into town takes 5-10 minutes up some stairs that aren't tough, and the path is in itself very quiet and relaxing with lots of vegatation along the sides. The hotel breakfast was surprisingly good for a small hotel like this - and I was able to eat healthily (bonus!). I can very much recommend this hotel. Compared to what I saw in many other parts of Sorrento, the location was perfect, away from the noisy main streets and just by the sea. And I must commend the hotel management and staff for having created such a little gem. Well done!

This is a lovely hotel with a great breakfast provided and very near to the centre of Sorrento (about 5-10 min walk) which is very handy as the taxi's are a rip off. If you do not wish to venture up to the centre there are a number of lovely restaurants down by the seafront in which to eat. I would definately stay here again.

The Del Mare is in the perfect setting, an easy walk to busy downtown Sorrento. The hotel itself was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. This hotel is a great value for your vacation. Easy access to restaurants as well.

Unico punto critico; la finestra della camera si affacciava su una strada larga due metri e di fronte vi erano altre abitazioni con finestre.

Hotel Del Mare was one of the most delightful hotels I have ever stayed in. I use Venere frequently and generally happy with my selection of hotels but Del Mare went above and beyond in their service! The location in the Marina Grande was phenomenal. It gave me a slice of Italian fishing life and there is a restuarant down at the end of the marina called Delphino's that is not to be missed! Pasquale at the hotel was a wealth of information and helped my mother and I with everything we needed. I speak Italian but I noticed the staff was just as accomodating with me in Italian and they were with english speakers. I would reccomend this hotel to anyone and with the highest praise!

Although the hotel was a little farther out of the center city, the location is beautiful and the staff wonderful. the marina is worth the walk into the city and the hotel is not difficult to find if you take the bus and speak a little italian.

We had booked a room with a balcony, but upon our arrival (around 5 pm) we were told that the room we had booked had a problem with electricity and since everything in the rooms works with electricity, it was not possible to use this room. And since it was Easter weekend, they also had a problem with getting someone to repair it quickly... So we were given the last room available, which was a very small twin room with a small window giving to the wall of next building (which was about 2 metres distance from our window). We were very disappointed, but the receptionist on duty was very nice indeed, and very apologetic, and offered us the parking facility for free (instead of paying 10€ for one night). Of course we also only paid the price of a room without a balcony instead of the price of the room we had booked. Service all in all was excellent, breakfast was very good, and I would stay in this hotel again, but in a bigger room with a balcony! The area was very also charming, the old, small fishing port with good restaurants and a short walk from town center.

We were delighted with our stay at this charming, clean hotel tucked quietly away a block from the bay. The breakfast was the best we had in our entire stay in Italy. The rooms are too small for three adults, which is what we had. But we made do, and were overall pleased with our accomodations. The shower, while very modern with lots of gadgets, was tiny and could be a problem for a large person. We frequently used the path and stairs that led to the center of town, pausing along the way to enjoy the interesting things we saw each time. One can actually walk from the train station to the hotel once you know the route. We did this both going to and returning on the train to Pompeii. We upgraded our room so that we could enjoy an uninterrupted view of the bay and Mount Vesuvius, and were glad the we did. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

The Internet rate was great -less than the half of the original price and inclusive breakfast!!! The location is not as we suggested in the centre of Sorrento, but in a very nice habour area with a great atmosphere and we could walk to the centre.

The hotel has been completely refurbished this winter and looks really nice. Last work is carried out, so we had drilling one morning, but otherwise quiet (expect renovation to be finished by April 2006). Staf is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, with buffet in the weekend. Minor issue: luxurious newly installed power shower is actually too large for the small shower cabin, so you have to move carefully... All in all we can strongly recommend the hotel to anyone.

We loved our stay at Hotel Del Mare on July 2005. Location was terrific. A small fishing village right behind and around the corner. A frequent and closby bus stop, but we preferred walking to town by the stone stairs. WONDERFUL!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Del Mare. The Staff were very helpful and Friendly. The Hotel itself was immaculate, the breakfast served was delicious and the location was perfect. The food in the Marina Grande itself was not great but in a 10 minute walk or a very short bus ride from just around the corner from the hotel costing €1, you are in the centre of Sorrento which is full of fantastic places to Eat. The best we found was Taverna 800. You must try it!

The staff were very pleasant to deal with and a beach and some restaurants are just around the corner. They served the best breakfast that I had all week, which was good. Also, it's nice to chill outside the hotel with a drink and a book before going to bed. They also have a fantastic sun lounging area on the roof. Although the room was double glazed, so not much noise comes in from outside, you can still hear other guests moving aroung inside the hotel, but, generally, this didn't disturb me too much. Also, it was the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in. It's a bit of a walk up hill into town, but it only takes 15 minutes. There is a bus every 30 minutes, anyway. I would stay there again if I go back to Sorrento.
