The hotel is very nice. Its location is excellent, near the railway and bus station and just a few blocks from the commercial district. Good breakfast. Good prices for lunch or dinner. The towels where too thin. I will go back if I return to Sorrento.

Sorrento was a nice change from the hustle and bustle of Rome and Naples. We had a very good experience with the visitor's/tourist information office in Sorrento. Gave us all the info we needed for the area and info on how to access Pompei and Capri. Grand Hotel Cesare Augusto has a great location easy walking to the city center, good breakfast first time we had eggs our whole trip. Very clean, quiet, spacious triple room and spacious bathroom (3 adults traveling). Easy walking distance from the train station, I would suggest heading out of the station towards the Piazza Angelina Lauro turn left then continue until the Piazza Tasso left again and up the road on the left sidewalks the whole way, should take 15 minutes or less. Only bad thing I can say is there was no internet connection or terminals as advertised.

Los desayunos buenos aunque la calidad de los jamones y quesos regulares. Había muy buenos restaurantes en los alrrededores del hotel, Los baños aunque limpios tienen un sitema que produce mucho ruido; al bajar un sanitario, abrir el lavamanos o el bidet en cualquier cuarto se siente un ruido en todas las cañerías de el hotel, Los cuartos por tener pisos de baldosa son muy ruidosos y cualquier movimiento que haga el huesped de los cuartos de los alrededores se siente. El suministro de jabon en los baños es ridículo; las pastilla que suministran a duras penas alcanza para una enjabonada con dificultad por su tamaño. Los cuartos que dan a la avenida principal a la entrada del hotel deberín tener doble vidirio para aislarlos del ruido de la calle que es insoportable las 24 horas

l'hotel merita un plauso nel rapporto qualità/prezzo sia per la posizione che per i servizi offerti. Nota di curiosità: è frequentato da gruppi turistici soprattutto americani. La colazione è buona. Nota di demerito: il parcheggio è poco capiente

reception staff argued as to who was going to check us in! appeared unhappy and reluctant to give us a room and demanded confirmation paperwork - however room was okay - door and window double glazed so very quiet - a/c worked effectively. Breakfast staff more professional and pleasant. Rooms cleaned every day. Pool staff showed great humour - rooftop pool has magnificent views over Sorrento. Hotel situated only a few minutes walk from the main plaza - great location.

I can really recommend this hotel. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The location is good, close to the center and train/busses.

It isn't the Ritz but the staff was very helpful and the location was great. A short block to the main square, another short block to train station and bus station and a short walk to Marina. Fabulous stay.

Grand Hotel Cesare Augusto is very handy to Sorrento railway station (Circumvesuvio). I was pleasently surprised to find it was only about 150 metres from the train station to hotel check in. No trouble at all to walk even with heavy bags in tow after a direct flight to Rome from Singapore and thence train to Sorrento. From the outside, the hotel built in the early 1960s is unpretentious however, inside the public areas are spacious, clean and quiet with a hint of art deco. Our room (a very clean, spacious and well appointed 3 bed room) was on the first floor overlooking Via degli Aranci. Although this is a noisy street, double glazing on the porch doors meant the room was tolerably quiet. My wife and I appreciated the pleasant garden on the ground level at the back of the hotel - a very nice area to sit and relax on a summer's evening after a days touring. We also enjoyed the rooftop terrace bar and pool area and swam most days in the late afternoon. The rooftop terrace also provides a striking panoramic view of the Bay of Naples and Sorrento township (see photos). Breakfasts (included in our tariff) served in the ground floor dining room/restaurant were excellent and catered for a wide range of tastes. We particularly enjoyed the apple fruit basket which since we were touring most days, gave us something to take with us. In contrast, we felt dinner was pricey and consequently didn't dine in. We occasionally used the bar/cafe on the roof terrace, light meals and drinks served there were good quality and reasonably priced. Sorrento is a diner's paradise and an excellent feature of this hotel is that there are many great bars, cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance (less than ten minutes). In the evenings we mostly dined at a nice little cafe just across the street at the back of the hotel. Service in relation to hotel functions was very good, with room maintenance requests dealt with in minutes. Less available was touring

The accomodation is good but the breakfast needs improving. There was no fresh orange juice available (only a a overly strong cordial), although we managed to get a waiter to go squeeze some. The coffee was often luke warm. There were croissants available but they were made of a funny tasting sweet bread.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the beautiful Grand Hotel Cesare Augusto. The desk staff and breakfast staff were very friendly and professional. Location was ideal for a short walk to Piazza Tasso. We would recommend this hotel as well as stay there again.

Close to the Railway (Circumvesuviana) Station and the most interesting places, the hotel offered a good price/quality relationship. Rich breakfast buffet.

We were delighted with our room, which we felt had to be the best in the hotel. The location was ideal for us, within easy reach of trains & buses, & the town centre.

I would definitely recommend this hotel and would select it again for a stay.
