The hotel is in a great location with wonderful views but it is a bit tired and when we were shown our rooms having been told we had been upgraded we had ants on the balcony and in the room and their was hair on the floor. The furniture was very grubby in fact the whole hotel could have done with a makeover. The hotel did spray the balcony and the room and we were given a much smaller room which was hot and noisy. We complained again and eventually were given a better room but there were ants there too so this had to be sprayed. One of our party who has Parkinson's was turned away from the restaurant because he was wearing three quarter length chinos and these were deemed to be shorts. He had to go all the way back to his room to change and after a tiring journey this was really unacceptable. The restaurant manager was very haughty and lacking in understanding. We didn't eat there again as the food was not good value for money. We would not stay at this hotel again.

Wonderful stay in a beautiful hotel with friendly staff - only downside was that the times of shuttle especially in winter made it difficult to use to eat out in Sorrento in the evenings. The hotel restaurant was also very nice but menu has no light choices in the evening.

Excellent value. Location a little out of town, but on bus route for arrival and departure with luggage. An OK walk to town if you are fit, but would be hard for others.

Yes it was the first time we had stayed at Hotel Grand Aminta and it was excellent. We could not fault it in any way. The staff were just wonderful and so helpful with any questions we had about the area or sight seeing. We ate there on some nights and it was very good. We would recommend this hotel to everyone of our friends travelling to Italy.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise! We'd never been to Sorrento and didn't realize we would be way up above the town! The staff was wonderful throughout! The stay was relaxing and easy to get around and see the sites.

This hotel provided terrific views of Sorrento and area. Breakfast and service and staff were all excellent. The staff were very helpfull giving us driving directions to Amalfi - wonderful drive and views of the coastline and surrounging area. Grand Aminta provided shuttle bus service to and from Sorrento. It was provided throughout the day and into the early evening, and the pick up point directly in front of the property was very convenient. Wireless internet in our room was convenient.

We love this hotel! What a stunning view. Make sure you ask for at least the 3rd floor. There is an hourly shuttle that you're going to be dependent on to go to town unless you have a car or like to climb steep hills. Our gps had trouble finding the place but you may not.

Great hotel. Location-wise it had the views to die for of the Amalfi Coast looking down to Sorrento. The hotel staff were always happy to greet us and remembered our room number before asking for the key. A regular shuttle service took you into Sorrento but otherwise it was a 20 min walk downhill - not so good coming up, unless you were fit! Will definitely return.

The hotel is beautiful with excellent surroundings and views. The staff were always at hand and willing to advise or serve your needs. The rooms were nice, beds a bit hard but ok. There was four of us that went and we had a great time, catching the shuttle bus everyday into Sorrento and enjoying the local cooking in the many restaurants scattered about Sorrento.

Beautiful views across the Bay of Naples, from the Hotel Gardens/Pool. Excellent breakfast and snacks/drinks service. My only complaint was that the shuttle service, which was hourly during the day, became limited in the evenings. This meant either missing the last hours of sunshine on the terrace (my favourite time as I don't like sitting in the midday sun) to get the 1930 bus for dinner in Sorrento, or waiting until 2100, to get the last bus and having a late dinner. 2000 or 2015 would have been perfect. Similarly the bus back was either 2030(too early) or 2315 (a bit late). 2230 would have been better, to allow a nightcap on the terrace. Maybe I'm being overly critical, but a better evening service would have made it a 5 star experience.

Everything about the hotel was excellent. Food in the resteraunt was good and varied, the set menu changed every night whilst we were there (9 days) I can recoomend the set menu and the chef specials. As an added bonus there was entertainment. The service was good and very friendly the staff could not be more helpful. The views are magnificent due to the location which is some way from Sorrento, but thereis a regular bus to the centre. Public transport is very good and there is really no need to hire a car.

Lovely stay. Accommodating and friendly front desk staff, attentive, competent, gracious dining room staff, cooked-to-order breakfast (unusual to find in Italy) plus cold buffet. The rooms are a trifle small for the price, but the view of Sorrento and the Bay was great. It was nice to have a free internet booth since we do not take a computer with us when we travel, and the shuttle into town was extremely useful. The hotel is a little hard to find using their map, but being somewhat familiar with Sorrento we followed our instincts and found it. The port from which you take ferries to Naples, etc., was even trickier to find, but we knew it was down there so we persisted! Once you knew how to get there, it was easy! We recommend this hotel highly, unless you want to be closer to town. However, the shuttle has you in town in less than 5 minutes.

An excellent hotel, clean, comfortable and with great service, extremely helpful staff and a great location providing fantastic views of Sorrento and the Bay of Naples. The food in the restaurant is fair to very good (meat dishes not nearly as strong as fish and pasta), and the breakfasts are very good. Entertainment in the restaurant 3 nights per week was fun. Free shuttle service to and from Sorrento indispensable, especially late at night. Spent 6 nights there in October (wonderful weather!) and wouldn't hesitate to return.

The service at this hotel is exceptional. The front desk staff are very friendly and competent. The views from our room (deck) were spectacular, as were views from the swimming pool/bar areas. The rooms are a little spartan but very clean. The hotel is about a half hour walk to the main downtown via a steep paved path. A free shuttle bus is very convenient to access the city and meet with other guests. Parking spaces are very limited as the hotel is on a steep hill. The breakfast was very good and the dining room was very elegant with excellent service. You can order individualized cooked breakfast from a waiter. Internet service is free to guests.

This hotel rates among the best I have been at throughout Italy. The hotel staff were exceptional. They made one call and shuttles were sent to pick us up and take us to Capri and Pompei and Mt Vesuvius. Thr food and dining at the hotel was first rate. Rooms were clean and spacious. The views of the Bay of Naples were wonderful. The only drawback of the Aminta is that it is three kilometers from the center of Sorrento. The hotel does run a shuttle so you are tied to its schedule. Taxi's are available but they will ding you for 15 Euro's. You'll love it here.

The hotels public areas are the best out of any hotel we have stayed in throughout Italy. The hotel surroundings are outstanding. Sitting on the patio area having lunch and drinks with a commanding view of the bay of naples and Mt. Vesuvius was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms could have been a little nicer but the price, hotel services, and surroundings more than made up for the rooms. If the rooms were as nice as the rest of the property this would be a five star hotel.

We were 3 single ladies who required 3 separate beds and this was provided in a room which was quite large and well appointed. There seemed to be many rules governing the use of the bar fridge and power outlets and on occasions the room was noisy with noise from downstairs entertainment.

This was a nice hotel, clean and very efficiently run. we were quite nhappy with our stay. the meals lacked a certain Italian clarity but perhaps this is because we spent a week in Sicily prior to arrival and the meals there were superb and quintessentially ITALIAN. overall this is a fine hotel and we would return again to it.

Fantastic location. Perched high above the town of Sorrento with beautiful views especially from the bar. Rooms were spacious and well appointed, with a great bathroom and tasteful furniture. Free internet access is also a plus. Only thing that was questionable is the restaurant, wouldn’t recommend it at the price. Besides that a great stay.

Totalmente recomendable. Nos encantaría volver allí.

We went to Sorrento on a whim and were very pleased with the city and hotel. The staff were very accomodating, the rooms were clean and spacious and the public areas had a beautiful view. The hotel was outside the city but a bus stop was right in front of the hotel or there was a shuttle service provided by the hotel to get back and forth from the city.
