Nice, clean hotel especially good for staying overnight for next day's flights from Malpensa. Only 5 minutes to airport via hotel shuttle with the most courteous driver ever. All hotel staff very helpful and cheerful. Cozy bar area with limited food menu. (3 types of pasta) Nothing better than a pasta dish and a glass of local wine. Location is in a country atmosphere even though it is adjacent to the airport. I plan to use this hotel anytime I fly out of Malpensa.

Perfect for the night before an early flight out of Malpensa. Clean room, new bed, clean large bathroom, very efficient shuttle to the airport. Free WIFI. Very nice "true Italian" restaurant next door. Family owned and operated for the last 47 years.

had to call hotel to get shuttle bus, so one needs to have money and know how to dial the hotel. fortunately I had a 50 cent piece. also, restaurant is very expensive and the food was mediocre, but they have a captive audience, and there's no other choice. great hotel, though, because of early shuttle.

Excellent stay, close to the Malpensa Airport. Shuttle was prompt although knowing how to call for it was difficult. If you ask at the head of the taxi line how to get the shuttle or even if you ask them to drive you they will call the hotel/shuttle for you because it is too close for the taxi to want to drive you. They would lose their place in the customer queue. This worked for us both times we arrived. We ate at the restaurant and the gnocchi and gorgonzola was to die for. The gnocchi was light and tons of cheese on the sauce. There is a lovely outdoor area to sit as well. Early morning shuttle to the airport was no problem to arrange. All in all a great place to stay.

We stayed at First Hotel Malpensa on the last night of our trip before our departure out of Italy from Malpensa Airport. We had a friendly and welcoming stay at a well-run hotel. The area were the hotel is situated is somewhat deserted (most likely due to being next to a busy airport). Right next to the hotel is a delightful old-style restaurant "La Quercia" with great food and great service where we had dinner.

This is a great solution for those flying in, or out, of Milan. Due to train strikes, we needed an additional night prior to our reservation. The hotel saved us by fulfilling our last minute request. The location provided an easy day trip to Lake Como and a very enjoyable experience. The staff is great, the shuttle driver prompt, and the hotel is immaculate.

Wonderful property/w a superb desk staff, but your dining area is one of the most uninviting and depressing I have ever seen, and the prices are outrageous. It's like two separate worlds. The stay was wonderful, but when I walked in for breakfast (fortunately the Trip Advisor reviews cautioned about the dinner), it was a total turn-off. It is bleak and tastelss, and tge breakfast was unimaginative. Five stars for the hotel; -3 for the dining area, prices and food. If I would have had to pay 5 Euro for that Orange Juice, I would have been incensed.....and the dinner menu shows 13 Euro for everything,,,,like no one cares. With Trip Advisor open to the world, you might want to either fix it or shut it down....especially with the wonderful restaurant next store. That is a delight....Why don't you send your patrons there and work out a deal with them? And you bar prices? You want 9 Euro for a split of Proseco? Get serious! Kudos to the desk staff, particularly Sandra...

The room and bath were excellent. Hotel needs a less expensive restaurant that is available more hours. It is not the place for an expensive dinner - people are staying between flights and they want a good but casual meal. The drinks also were extremely expensive. There are no other choices in the neighborhood. Next time I will try the new Sheraton because I would not need a shuttle and there may be more dining choices.

The hotel is conveniently situated near the airport. There is a very nice Italian restaurant next to the hotel. Our welciome at the hotel was not very profesional - the front desk attendant was very rude upon our arraival and not very helpfull. Fortunately a different person was on duty the next day which was a ray of sunlight compared to the one on duty upon our arrival.

Stayed there only over night. Good value for money if you have an early flight to catch (or a late landing) at Malpensa airport. Hotel staff very kind. Hotel provides free shuttle service to/from airport. Ideal if you go to Malpensa by car and are going to stay out for a couple of days. In that case, make arrangements with receptions upon booking to make sure that you can leave your car in the hotel parking for free during your trip. 1 night stay price is competitive with price of leaving your car at the airport parking.

Overall a very nice stay and a good location. The shuttle to and from the airport for day excursions into Milano via the Malpensa train makes this a great place to stay. Some of the staff is a little curt. Do not get the premium room over teh standard unless you actually need to king, there is no other substantial difference.

The First Hotel is about 5 min driving distance to the Malpensa airport, so as an overnight stay is very convenient - although a bit pricey. They offer a free shuttle to and from the airport. Call them upon your arrival and local cab drivers will lead you to their pick up point. Scheduling it back to the airport was also very easy to do. Be sure to have pocket money to tip your driver who then becomes your baggage handler at the hotel. The front desk clerk was a snooty woman who is obviously not in the right career. There is also a restaurant right next door. Eat there as opposed to teh hotel's restaurant. Even the shuttle drivers recommend it. A bit pricey but convenient.

First Hotel is an excellent place to stay if you are coming in late from the Milano airport or leaving early to catch a flight. The shuttle driver is very pleasant and helpful with the bags. The rooms have coffee and tea makers in them with cookies and chocolates--what a nice touch--we didn't find this anywhere else in Italy. Staff are very welcoming and professional. Air conditioning is normal for Italy--a bit sluggish and not much help if it is very muggy outside. The bathrooms are enormous and very clean, with LOTS of towels. THe only caveat is that the second time we stayed there, the shower was running scalding hot and freezing cold in a 5 second cycle, so much so that I gave up and took a sponge bath in the enormous sink; the first room we had did not have any problem with the water. The other thing is the restaurant in the basement--it is fine for breakfast, which comes with the price of the room--the breakfast ladies are helpful and set out a great fare. We made the mistake if eating dinner on our last night, and it was the most expensive meal of our whole trip for ministrone and lasagne (and not very good lasagne at that). The fellow who seated us and took our order was not happy with his job, and this was reflected to all the diners. Other than this one chap, everyone else was full of smiles and help. We would definitely go again, but would not eat dinner there.

This hotel and all of its services were ridiculously overpriced. The rooms were clean but small, food was expensive (EU4 for a can of cola?!), and there's practically nothing in the town as an alternative. Better to stay a bit farther from the airport, save a _ton_ of money, and come in on the Malpensa express for your flight than to stay in this overpriced place.

If you want to stay near the airport you just can't do any better. We got in around noon and wanted to see Milan, their shuttle whisked us to the Airport where we caught a bus that dropped us at the Terminal Centrale and took the subway all over Milan. The staff spoke excellent English, the breakfast started way earlier than most places and was very good. Everything was very new, clean, and business-like. The price was very good, especially for the location. I'd consider this a good location for exploring Milan because of their great shuttle connection to the airport and from there to the center of town.

First Hotel is a good hotel, right next to Milan Malpensa airport. It is an excellent place to stay if you have an early flight. The area is a little desolate, and there is very little in the way of restaurant choice, even if you drive 7-8 km into Somma Lombardo; the staff would recommend only the hotel restaurant. My only complaint about the property is that it is not possible to open the windows, so the only air is through the air conditioning system.

Quite close to airport with periodic shuttle. Room was spacious, at least by standards of other hotels I stayed at in Italy. The only downside is that you really are forced to eat at their overpriced restaurant for dinner unless you have a car. Breakfast was fine though. All said, a good place if you have an early morning flight out of Milan airport.

The restaurant in the hotel is pretty pricey for what you get. We just ate there as its so handy. I believe there is a restaurant very close (in the village) if you want a different option. I'm sure the hotel people can give you the address or directions.

This hotel is ideal for flying in and out of Malpensa and you need a hotel for a night. Actually, if it weren't for the airport location, I would stay here. The hotel was very nice, clean, spacious rooms and baths. Great facility with room service and a good restaurant nearby. The staff was very accommodating. They shuttle you to and from the airport which is very helpful.

Proximity to airport is best feature. Hotel is nice enough but not charming or warm. Breakfast was very good. Local restaurant provided fine dinner at much cheaper prices.

Excellent place to spend the night before flying out the next day. Friendly, helpful staff. Airport shuttle on-time and quick. Breakfast plentiful and good. Located on outskirts of small village with friendly pub/restaurant within easy walking distance.

The closeness to the airport and free shuttle service is what attacted me. It was easy to find because they have their own signs guiding you there then you can't miss it because it is a redish color square modern box mixed in a residential neighborhood. The staff was very professional and accomodating and allowed me to check in early which I greatly appreciated. I read prior reviews about the restaurant not being very good and expensive for what you got, so I did not go there and could not rate it currently except to say the breakfast was typical. I went to the restaurant "La Quercia" next store for both an early lunch and dinner. The food was homemade and very good. The only downside to this hotel is there is not anything to do. It would be nice if they had a pool or an exercise facility, anything really. I had checked in early and was not departing until the next morning and had no transporation so I was glad I had a good book and they had 2 English speaking TV stations. I did try walking to the village but there was nothing there except a charming church worth visiting. All in all, convenient to the airport and perfect for an incoming or outgoing night stay. Happy travels!

we were flying out of milan the following day, so we wanted a hotel near malpensa airport. the first hotel is a nice moderately priced hotel. we had taken the bus from milan train station to malpensa and with a quick call, we were picked up by their shuttle to be taken to the hotel. i had requested a non-smoking room which we received. we had a light supper and a pleasant evening before our flight the next day. the first hotel was everything we wanted for the night.

Excellent location near the airport. Great staff and shuttle service. The only problem was the restaurant. Dinner prices were absurd for what we received, but there was nothing else available. We actually stayed here for the first night of our holidays in November and the last night in December. On the second night we ate before we checked in. They list meal prices in the elevator but those prices were just for the appetizers. Breakfast was one of the best we had during our trip. I would recommend this hotel due to its location and amenities but would strongly suggest that you don't plan on eating in their dining room (except for the included breakfast).

The hotel is located in a small village, near the Malpensa airport, and offers free shuttle, which is very convenient. The double room is spacious and so is the bathroom. The food in the hotel restaurant is not of the best quality and for that quality rather expensive, and unfortunately there is no restaurant nearby (actually there is one next door, but was closed in dinner time!). Very friendly and competent staff, speaking good English. If you need only a good overnight rest and don't care for good food, this is an excellent choice.

This hotel is an excellent choice for the night before flights from Malpensa. Shuttle service to drop off our car and to fly out the next morning was excellent. Reception personnel were most helpful and professional. Hotel restaurant is the only place to eat unless one drives some distance, but it was adequate for dinner and breakfast.

Excellent Hotel when an overnight close to the airport is required. The rooms are excellent, but the food service is minimal standard. There is very little other services in the immediate area, but there is a good restaurant right next door. Would stay again.

It is located very close to the airport and it is a convinient place if you need to take an early flight. You can take the train to downtown Milan from the airport if you have time for more sightseeing. They offer a free shuttle to get you from and back to the airport. You need to pay it if you want to use it beyond that. The hotel has a very modern, clean style. And I did not have to wake up super early to take my flight.

We didnt spend much time here as we arrived late (after 9pm) and left early (about 6:30am. Can't beat the location relative to the airport. They promoted free airport shuttle service, but our experience was that there was not sufficient capacity to provide that serve to all that were interested. Suggest others reserve space in shuttle ahead of time.

We selected this hotel based on other readers' comments and found it to be perfect for a one-night stay (or longer if you have a car) prior to leaving Malpensa for US. Free airport shuttle enabled us to return rental car a day early; staff was pleasant; service excellent. If we fly out of MXP on our next trip to Italy, we definitely will book at Hotel First.

Great location if you're flying out of Malpensa. Clean room, wireless internet and a good bar. The hotel restaurant left something to be desired. However, breakfast was really good.

Restaurant is poor, badly organized, understaffed and low quality food. There are other restaurants close by (one is next door) which should be indicated in your listing.

We found the First Hotel to be a very convenient and comfortable place to stay in order to catch an early morning flight out of Malpensa. The pick up and delivery service to the airport is wonderful. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Great place to stay if you need to be near the airport.

The public spaces are sterile and uncomfortable. The restaurant in the basement is particularly oppressive. You feel like you are really in a basement and the too-bright overhead lighting is terrible.

Location and convenience to the Airport were as expected, and just right for an early morning flight out of Milan. We arrived late in the evening and left early in the morning. Hotel staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Restaurant food was very good, service was just a little slow because there was a rush of late arrivals. Restaurant decor was a little austere, and location in lower level means no windows.

Although this hotel is so close to the airport you'd never know. The rooms are so quiet, you never hear a plane at any time. The staff was extremely friendly, courteous and helpful. We'll be staying at First again on our next trip to Italy.

Difficulty getting a taxi from the airport to the hotel--didn't understand the phone system. Decorations in hotel rather startling--to bright lighting? Enjoyed stay, and found the hotel very helpful. The shuttle back was great!

We arrived just before midnight, very exhausted from our drive from Tuscany. After returning our rental car at the Airport, we called for a ride to the hotel. Within one minute of walking outside, the van was there to pick us up! The hotel is in a perfect location to the Malpensa Airport, just a 5 minute ride. Check in was quick and efficient, the hotel and room was very nice and clean with a great shower! The breakfast in the morning was wonderful, a great way to end our last day in Italy and send us on to our next destination. Would definetly stay there again. Regards, Kathleen Archer Boston, MA
