We travelled over for the Macedonia v Scotland football match. Before travelling we were told by the hotel that we could no longer get the 2 single rooms we had booked but instead we could have 1 double for the same price! (many hotels in Skopje were doing this to get as much money out of the visiting football fans as possible). I contacted Venere and they got in touch with the hotel to get the price reduced to what 1 double room should have been. On arrival the hotel manager tried to get us to pay the higher price saying that Venere had not been in touch about our booking. We stood our ground and eventually got in for the reduced price. The hotel is in a great location overlooking Macedonia Square and the River Varder. It is on the top floor of the building however (the lift goes to the 5th floor then you need to walk up 1 flight of stairs) so it's not ideal for those with mobility problems. There is a taxi rank close to the entrance and the taxis are a cheap and easy way to get around the city. Despite our initial problem when checking in, we thought the hotel was very good - rooms were clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The terrace is a great place to sit with a drink and watch the world go by down below. I would be happy to stay here again although Skopje itself doesn't have that much to offer. If I did visit Skopje again then because of its location, cleanliness and price, I would stay at the Hotel Square again.

Excellent location in the center of Skopje with a great city view from the public area. Room is renovated and clean. Price is very attractive. I can recommend the hotel to various type of tourists with confidence.

that place is definitely not a hotel.It is placed on the 6th floor of a centrally located building.The rooms are newly renovated,but very small and the bathroom is a nightmare(small,bad smell,just a curtain for the shower,so that small place is also always wet.price too high for what they have to offer.
