Bourtzi hotel is beautifully located in the heart of Skiathos town, within short distance of many wonderful beaches, including the famous Megali Ammos sandy bay. Next to the main pedestrian avenue, where the market is situated, the hotel is only steps away from the characteristic harbour and the old town centre, with its many restaurants, bars, Internet cafes, traditional tavernas, as well as plenty of tourist services.
The Bourtzi hotel comprises three buildings which have been recently renovated, providing a comfortable accommodation and a welcoming atmosphere that will make the stay in Skiathos a very pleasant vacation.

We stayed at the Deluxe Room at Hotel Bourtzi and it was exactly as seen in the pictures. The staff was friendly and very helpful, especially as regards tourist information.

The hotel is really clean and well kept and couldn't be better located.It's so central and yet there's no noise from the streets.The windows are double glazed so you don't hear any pool noise in the morning either.I'd avoid getting a room (there are 2 of them) beside the reception desk though as it can be noisy there with the phone ringing a lot etc.Breakfast was adequate but nothing special.The bar did some good cocktails and was a handy last-stop on the way home at night.The rooms were really nice though, clean and modern.The main gripe most people would have is the pool area.Only a third of it gets the sun so there's mad competition for those 6 sunbeds with the usual types who put their towel down and then dispear for most of the day.The staff don't seem to discourage this at all and there were a few tense and narky moments when people moved beds around to catch the sun and the staff told them off for blocking access etc while not dealing with the main problem...empty beds with towels on them.Staff weren't typically chatty friendly Greeks but in fairness when we had to leave suddenly they rang airports etc for us to arrange flights.It was a pity we had to cut our stay short but when we go back I'd certainly stay at the Bourtzi again although I've promised myself I'll just move those towels myself.

GREAT! The bourtzi is right in the heart of Skiathos Town on the main road leading to the port. Highly recommend for the traveler on a budget. Great pool and freindly staff!

How to reach Hotel Bourtzi
By airplane
Skiathos island has its own airport which caters to International charter flights as well as local flights. From May through October there are regular charter flights from most major cities in Europe. Alternatively, fly to Athens and then take a local Olympic flight to Skiathos. Flight time from Athens is approximately fifty minutes.
Upon arrival on Skiathos island, getting to the hotel is very easy and inexpensive. The property lies only 1.7 km away from the airport and there are always plenty of taxis at the airport entrance.
By boat
The nearest major town on the mainland is Volos, halfway between Athens and Thessaloniki, which is about three hours away by ferry or one and a half hours by hydrofoil. Athens is approximately four hours away by hydrofoil & bus, or six hours if you have your own car and take the ferry. Hydrofoils and ferries go to Aghios Konstantinos, on the mainland, half way between Athens and Volos. There are also good connections from Thessaloniki in the summer months.
Upon arrival on Skiathos island getting to the hotel is very easy and inexpensive. The hotel is only 350 metres away and the main taxi station is in front of the harbour.
