Hotel Gardenia - Colombare - Sirmione, Sirmione

Sirmione is a cosy town, lake garda's landscapes are breathtaking..however, do choose another hotel! I have paid more to stay at this hotel in May than I paid in a 'Holiday Inn' 10km from Milan in the same period!Of course the location counts - very near lake garda, & sirmione town centre; and it did have a swimming pool, though it was only made available on the 2nd day we arrived(they were still cleaning it in the morning..), despite the weather being fantastic..plus, after finally opening it, there weren't enough loungers (only 2 with a full house, apparently..)You work at a hotel: you see 3 people sitting by the pool and there are only 2 loungers, what do you do? get more?no...only the next day, bit too late. In conclusion: If you can afford it, choose somewhere else! Note: I am usually not that picky but these people, expecially the man who was at reception, were not nice. There was 1 young lady at reception who was very nice though her english was next to none!I speak a bit Italian so we understood each other...Breakfast: nothing special, but from my previous experiences in Italy: not that bad either!so extra points for breakfast.Rooms: if you have trouble sleeping: don't stay here. You could hear a 'mouse' crossing the corridor (they don't have mice, don't worry!)If you do stay at hotel gardenia, I recommend you eat at 'La Foresta', very near the hotel:go on foot, exit turn left, then left again after the petrol station, cross the road to the other side and go through a narrow road on your right, you're there! Pasta and Pizza to die for! Ciao!

As we arrived the hotel, we must hand our passports over to the concierge, without any information, when we would get them back. Only with the Room key, we felt impelled to search our Rooms alone.We had parked our car inside of the hotel car park, where it was crashed by another car, but we didn’t receive any support from the reception clerk of the hotel to resolve the problem. He declined it directly. I suggest every Guest, to have an eye on his car. The Breakfast was really penurious, too. Second-warming bread rolls, instant-cakes and weaken orange juice was served every day. In this hotel it wasn’t able to enjoy the Italian hospitality, which we have get to know during many other Journeys through Italy.

Un ottimo hotel con belle camere accessoriate, accogliente, situato in una posizione comodissima e con un ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. un hotel sicuramente da consigliare ad un amico

Easy to find, very clean and comfortable hotel. Outdoor heated Swimming Pool is a wonderful bonus. Staff can appear a little reserved at first, but warm up over time. Air con appears to on a timer so that it's available during certain times of day/night.

The hotel is basic, but the summimpool is very good. You can rent bikes in the shoop in front and visit the old town or go to the lake. Perfect area for holidays with childrens. The breakfast its very, very basic!

Nice, friendly hotel

Very nice and clean hotel. Pool area is brilliant. Just one thing to be aware of and this is that it is a least 20/25 minute walk to the area od Simione that contains the restruarants and bars etc.

Quite decent hotel, very clean, the food not so great, and the employees could be a little bit more friendly.
