The hotel is very quiet and clean and staff are so helpful. Only thing I don't like is its location. Sorrounding is not so nice (but safe) and bit far from Ortigia.

When you see building from outside you would think that it must be mistake, but the hotel itself is nice surprise. Ortigia is cca 2km from hotel.

Entrance shared with others in buildingand somewhat drab and off-putting, but hotel itself impeccable. Handy for Archaeological Museum and excellent Archaelogical Park but less so for Ortygia. Buses for Catania, and beach leave from short distance away. Hard to get info. re local buses.

Very nice hotel, tidy and very clean on the first floor of an old stable. The first impression at the entrance of the building is daunting but the interior of the hotel is a wonderful surprise! All the staff were very friendly and very helpful.

The staff was absolutely wonderful in helping us resolve a very difficult situation. The entrance, as mentioned by other travelers, is simply the front door to a four-story building next to a bar. But the hotel itself is perfectly normal and worth overcoming the initial hesitance that the entrance gives. The location is as convenient as you can get to the archeological site and museum.

Wide and very cleaned room, good price, great kindness of employees, comfortable position for both Archeological and Ortigia areas. That's a pity for the featureless surroundings and the external look. Overall rate: ABSOLUTELY RECOMMANDABLE!!!

Hotel Teocrito is relatively well located, 5 minutes from the archeological park and 15-20 minutes from Ortygia (historical center). If you arrive during rush hours, parking may be an issue because the hotel does not have a private parking lot and finding a parking place in nearby streets may be difficult. Finding a parking place nearby in non-rush hours does not present a problem. Hotel is located on the first floor. You enter the building through a door that seems to give to an apartment complex and then climb the stairs or take the old elevator to the hotel. The excellent service and room quality makes one quickly forget the bad impressions given by the potential parking place issue and strange entrance to the hotel. Actually, the furniture makes the room look like it belongs to a hotel of a higher class. Bed is comfortable, bathroom is functional and pretty spacious, room is surprisingly silent as compared to other hotels in Sicily. Personnel is very knowledgeable and helpful. Breakfast is good but there aren’t enough tables to accommodate all the guests if too many want breakfast at the same time. On our second day we had to wait our turn to eat. Despite the minuses, we had a very good experience at Hotel Teocrito and would return without hesitation.

Very nice and helpful people at the reception desk. The hotel is on a first floor with a small entrance and a small lift. In most countries it would rather be classified as BB. The rooms are good.

My partner and I have just returned from a short break at Hotel Teocrito. Although the entrance, being on the first floor was unusual, it did not detrimentally affect the ambience of the accommodation. The hotel itself was very conveniently situated, being close to supermarkets, the Archeological park and the museum. Syracuse railway station and the island of Ortygia were 20 to 30 mins walk away. Ortygia was very charming with many eating establishments. The hotel staff were always polite, helpful and friendly and the rooms were pleasant, clean and tidy.

When we were looking for it, we said "I hope it's not that building" as we waited half a day to cross a busy street. However, once inside, it came as a bit of a surprise - kind of like at oasis in the middle of an apartment block! The reception was very friendly, the room as expected; tv, safe, good strong shower, comfortable bed, and most importantly the windows were quite well soundproofed. Breakfast was adequate, coffee good, what more could you ask for?!

Hotel situated on the first floor of a condominium, very near to the archaeological site and not far from the historical town. The best of the hotel is the friendly and efficient staff. Good breakfast, comfortable room. A perfect choice to stay in Syracusa I really recommend it.

Teocrito was a very welcoming hotel with friendly, helpful staff and bright, clean accommodation. We were provided with maps and important sights and places to eat were marked out by the desk staff. Special dietary needs were catered for. The archeolgical museum is just across the road, and the archeological park a short walk away. An ideal hotel for a city break in Siracusa.

Our stay at Teocrito was excellent. The room was quiet, spotlessly clean, well-decorated and had all that we needed. The staff were particularly helpful. Breakfast selection catered for varied tastes, including freshly brewed coffee or tea.

An exceptiona quality price ratio. In spite of the external dull aspect of the building, the hotel inside is one of the best we had in our trip in sicily. Such as never judge from the first appearance :-)

Quando arrivi sei preoccupato perchè ti trovi davanti ad un condominio..ma la porta che al primo piano si apre preclude ad un soggiorno piacevole ed un hotel al di sopra di ogni voto!!Consigliato forever..

The Teocrito Hotel is one of the nicest places we stayed in Italy. The decor of the room, the breakfast and the location were all excellent and it is only a 20 minute walk to the old city.

This is a hidden gem in Siracusa. It is a 15 min. walk from the historic center, but the price and quality of the hotel make up for a short walk. The hotel has been recently redone and is very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and the staff went out of their way to assist. There is free wi-fi in the lobby which is very convenient. We will stay there whenever we have the chance.

A well run hotel with a freindly, helpful staff. Spotless relatively spacious room. Great location near the museum and archeology area, but a 15 minute hike to the island. Excellent value.

Teocrito certainly exceeded out expectations. The friend and helpful staff did above and beyond what we could have hoped to make our stay enjoyable. The rooms where immaculate and well appointed, could have easily passed as 4 star facilities. A little walk to the old city but still accessible.
