Very clean facility. We chose it as it was newer compared to staying in the old town of Siena.Staff was very helpful even though we are English speaking. Only drawback is the hotel is situated next to a large traffic circle which made local walking challenging to find a safe crossing.

We traveled by car and we were looking after a hotel with its own parking. That why we chose Hotel San Marco . Good choise, because it was easy to find, in spite of the late hour and in the absence of a GPS. Everything was perfect. The rooms, the breakfast and the staff very kind and helpful. In a trattoria across the street we had the best pizza we ever ate.

New hotel; clean, spacious, quiet rooms. Very spacious public areas, also. Very modern decor which provides some variation from other places in Italy. Simple to find and access by car - right off the Autostrada. Directions were great. The trade-off for that easy access is uninteresting surroundings around the hotel. However, a bus to the heart of Siena is a two-minute walk and we walked to the heart of Siena in about 10 minutes. The room and its bathroom have plenty of amenities. The TV has English speaking options. We paid about the same price for all of our hotels throughout the Italy. Fellow Americans will find this hotel to be more of what you expect in a hotel in this price range. Others throughout Italy had different qualities - uniqueness, quaintness, character, views...all good things - but it was very nice to have a night in a hotel like the San Marco. We booked in US Dollars on Venere but the confirmations are in Euros. Just something to be aware of because changes between the Euro and dollar can change the price you actually pay versus what you booked.

Very clean rooms, with nice bathrooms. A bit far from Sienna center, without bus after 8.30 PM, but possible by foot.

Boutique type hotel, but need a degree in orienteering to find the hotel as it's location is surrounded by roundabouts and slip-roads.

The breakfast in this hotel was nothing short of spectacular, assuming that you are not looking for a hot English style breakfast. The selection was great and the staff really seemed to go all out to ensure that everything was perfect. The hotel is on the edge of the city but the bus service is very regular and reliable, although the last bus back to the hotel is before 20:30. If you decide to walk back from the city centre, you should note that this takes about 50 minutes through some areas that are not particularly well lit.

Although the hotel is a bit far away from the center (you need a car or public transportation), it is a really good starting point to visit Siena and Chianti region. Nice breakfast and really nice barmaid who was particularly helpfull and friendly! I'll go back there for a futur visit of Siena and around.

The only problem with this hotel (it's not their fault) is the confusing road junction in front of it. Perhaps some signage at the edge of the car-park would help. Otherwise a perfect stay.

Very helpful staff, also very friendly. Attractive and clean new building. Very good access to downtown via shuttle bus and good access to highway (a bit confusing due to the traffic circle and construction).

The staff was extremely friendly. The hotel was hard to find, although it is right on the corner, but no visible signs. We passed it three times. The staff knows that: when we commented they agreed, that it is hard to find. But overall, the renovation they did is excellent, very much in contemporary style. The breakfast was good. And, again, the satff was very helpful and easy-going. We enjoyed our stahy there.

A good value, modern, friendly hotel with a practical, if unappealing, situation on the main roads just outside the city walls. It is a twenty minute walk uphill into the centre of Siena. There is a regular bus during the day.

San Marco hotel is one of my best memory in Siena. In terms of facilities, it's really clean and modern, newly developed so you may enjoy higher quality of facilities comparing to price. And also breakfast was really nice. But most impressive thing is clerk in the reception. we asked her to introduce 'local favor nice' restaurant, and she introduced literally # 1 restaurant in Italy. she was so kind and nice, also she informed most important things to see, informed us more convenient transportation, time, even we didn't have that much information about Siena, but because of her kindess and instruction, we didn't have any difficulties. Really nice hotel, but most of all, you can feel welcoming, hospitality and real 'local'. Two thumbes up RECOMMENDATION!!
