The hotel Chiusarelli is located in the historic centre of Siena, approximately 300 metres from the Duomo and Piazza del Campo. The main city's attractions are easy to reach on foot, such its narrow streets, numerous towers and elegant buildings, which characterize the heart of the Medieval city.

The property is a neo-classic style villa with frescos, which was built in 1870 and completely refurbished according to the original style. The hotel offers many services including a bar, a restaurant (Gli Orti di San Domenico Restaurant) featuring the traditional Tuscan cuisine, a small complimentary outdoor car park (for 6 cars) and a garage (for approx. 6 cars, subject to charges), ADSL Internet point and Wireless Internet access in the entire building .

The hotel is also an ideal starting point for discovering the beautiful surroundings of Siena, with vineyards, olive groves, medieval hamlets and castles. The hotel is easily reachable by car and by public transportation; and 200 metres from the property guests will find the bus stop leading to Florence, Rome and San Gimignano. Just ask the friendly staff to help you with guided tours to Montalcino, the Chianti wine route and the city centre of Siena.

PLEASE NOTE: parking spaces cannot be booked in advance, but the staff will be glad to give indications concerning parking lots in the property surroundings.

Big but nice hotel near the city centre (nearest to go by car) with own (but little) parking area. Friendly staff, good (nearly "continental") breakfast and good restaurant. Allthough climatisation did not work sufficiently we would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit Siena.

This is such a beautiful hotel in a perfect location! Room #15 is spacious, quiet with a nice view of the football stadium and the charming outdoor patio below. The staff was very professional and quite helpful. The breakfast was a great bonus and presented a good variety of food (the pastries were delicious!). We miss the hotel and Siena already and hope to return someday soon!

Beautiful old building, great classical decor, marble floors, reception and lounge wonderful. Room clean and comfortable. Breakfast good selection of food and drinks, had a excellent evening meal in the very elegant dining room. Short walk to Siena centre (though we always got lost returning to the hotel)bus station two minute walk. Reception staff maybe a little distant but still helpful. Great hotel at a bargain price, lack of elevator could be a problem for some folks. Siena is wonderful, peaceful and friendly.

The hotel was too expensive compared to the service provided. Bathroom was old (expecially the shower which is too small) and not that clean. The double bed was made by two single beds put toghether and wasn't that confortable. Breakfast was poor (expecially the juices). Anyway nice location and nice building, really near to the bus station and to the city center.

Near every thing in Sienne, only thing, no lift, went you are on the 3 floor, and you go for breakfest 1 floor down you have to climb 72 steps. not too easy. The food was good and the coffee exceptional. Near waliking distance for all the great things to see in Sienne.

The biggest problem with this hotel is that they don't have enough parking places and they have no contracts with garages in neigborhood. That lives you in the situation to search for parking by yourself (which is on wednesdays - market day - at noon very frustrating).

The rrom we stayed in the hotel was on the street side which was very noisy all over the night. So anyone who wants to stay at this hotel must tell the hotel staff that you want the quiet side. Otherwise it's quite close to the ancient wall of Sienna city.

A nice hotel, being renovated on the top floors, so we stayed at ground level. Room size was fine, old-style cozy hotel in many ways, but not service oriented. Arrived late and - according to the website - it said "Free parking". That is not true. (on the confirmation email it says Parking 15 EUR!?)- There is a very limited parking (5-6 cars) which was full the whole two days we were there. Do not expect to park there. Instead we parked at the public parking which cost EUR 32 for Thursday night to Saturday morning - be prepared! Breakfast was plentiful but of mediocre quality. There was a bar person who could make cappuccinos, but it seemed that we bothered him asking for such a service. Other guests have to ask twice. Having a "cappuccino service" should be offered to every guest, or it shouldn't be at all. Internet worked fine and the 3 hours you get for 5 EUR is counted as actual on line time.

Attention is not written in the wb page but they have not elevator, in the city center, atention to the ZTL (area not allow trafic) and also parking that he hotel offer is around 26 euro/night but it is another parking in the stadium that during thenight is free and during the day is less expensive. Parking of the hotelonly for 4 cars and under construction. Rooms close to this parking are noisy due to the works and the street that is closer.

I've been coming to Siena once a year for ten years now, and I have to say: This hotel was a very pleasant experience. It is perfectly located in the old town within walking distance to all major attractions. It is a bit noisy - there is a major street in front of the hotel - but hey: it's an Italian city we are talking about! The good thing about the street is you can very easily reach the hotel by car (if you are travelling that way), which can be a bit tricky in Siena. There is a small parking lot (for about 5 cars) for free at the hotel, however, if it is occupied, you have to use the parking lot of the nearby stadium or fortress (which costs around 1,50 Euros per hour from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. - a reasonable price for a European city center). It's "first come - first serve" with the parking spaces at the hotel. Some people on this website have complained about the front desk staff being grumpy and unhelpful - that's something we did not experience at all. On the contrary: the staff was really nice. No complaints. One more thing: the room. It was totally o.k.: clean, not too small, we even had a balcony. One thing is important: This is an Italian 3-star hotel, which means: Don't expect anything fancy. It's an old building, which means it is a bit run down - which I always find very charming (if it's clean, which it was). If you are looking for the generic, no surprises, standard hotel room, take the Best Western (which is less conveniently located). If you want something a bit more "Italian" - and perfectly located - the Chiusarelli is a good choice. Definitely a recommendation.

This was a good location, right next to St. Catherine's Cathedral and the soccer stadium. The bathrooms left a lot to be desired, and the staff was a bit rude, but the value was good for what we got. It's a trek to the main square and does not have very good parking. Overall we would not stay here again, but it was a good value-you get what you pay for with this place-also there was a lot of stairs here and no help with the bags...

We booked the hotel because it was stated on the website that it had parking available. When we got the we were told that the parking was not avaiable, but right next door to the entrance was an empty parking area. ???? We also booked a suite. By South African standards the room we got was a very ordinary room. Far from a suite. Big enough for a king size bed and small desk and chair. Nothing else. I would hate to think what their standard rooms are like. Aside from of the two complaints, the hotel is well situated. Has a bright and airy entrance and the staff were very curtious.

As expected, our room at the back of the hotel (football stadium side) was quiet. The room was booked in October 2007 when the web site indicated on-site parking would be available as of September 2007 but there was no sign of any parking nor of any coming when we said in late-December 2007. We were able to find parking within a 10 minute walk but if we had known there was no parking, we would have used one small bag for our one-night stay and left the other luggage in the car. Reception could have been friendlier and more informative upon arrival but was fine the rest of the stay (including person at desk when we arrived).

A very nice hotel, centrally located, easy walking distance to all the major sights. Our room overlooked AC Siena's soccer stadium; if you are there on a game day, you could watch from your room! Very quiet at night. Breakfast was excellent; the best of any hotel during our stay in Italy.

Hotel Chiusarelli is situated inside the citywalls of Siena, just about 5 minutes walk to "Il Campo".The Hotel is in my opinion a beautiful hotel. If you enjoy old Italian architecture, high ceilings, solid furniture,(and of course a wonderful bathroom;marble all over)you will be delighted to stay there. The hotel has a wonderful and peaceful terrace at the backside overlooking the sport stadium. Some reviews tell you about grumpy employees;I don´t agree. The breakfastroom is very nice, the breakfast itself is over average in Italy;fresh warm croissants, boiled eggs and so on.Concerning Siena;don´t have lunch or dinner at the Campo, you will be finding excellent restaurants/trattorias in the narrow streets close ti Il Campo. Hope to be visiting Siena soon;a magic town. And hope to return to Hotel Chiusarelli.I highly recommend it.

The hotel is in a good location, but it is an older hotel that needs some refurbishing. On the plus side it is relatively cheap. The websites say there is a parking lot, but when we stayed (June 2007) it was a construction site. There is free parking about a 8-10 minute walk away from the hotel in a large open air car park, and you can drive up to the hotel to drop off/pick up bags. The hotel does have its advantages - it is close to key attractions (Il Campo about 5 minutes walk) and the bus station (from which you can get one of the many services to Florence). The hotel did offer various tours but we did not try any of them. The breakfasts were average, and it was the only place we stayed in the course of a 3 week holiday in Italy that charged you for a coffee/cappuccino at breakfast (other than one from the urn).

Some of the help was very unaccomodating. This is not a high service hotel. It is a nice clean place to stay in Siena- no frills just a place to sleep. Overall cleanliness was good and room was updated. The help was the down point of the stay- when my ATM card stopped working the man at the front desk was totally unwilling to be of help. He refused to let me find the contact nnumber of my bank on the internet. He was unsympathetic and even more uncharitable.

This hotel was in a good location. Not quite in the heart of Siena but close walking distance to the major sights. The room was clean but could do with a bit of an update. Bathroom was very clean. Breakfast was quite average. We found that the hotel could be a little noisy at night (the doors tended to slam when people came back to the rooms at night) but apart from that was comfortable. For price and location this hotel was very reasonable. I'd probably look for somewhere different, a little more atmosphere.

This is a perfect hotel location if you don't have a car. Top of the hill, near the central bus station to surrounding towns, short taxi ride to train station and short walking distance to all of Siena's highlights. Our room was large, clean, quiet, had a balcony with views over the stadium beyond a tree lined avenue. Staff were helpful and attentive and breakfast was great. Our only complaint of the hotel is the lack of brochures on what to do and see in Siena or even a map. ie they have a large street market every Wednesday.

Comme il n'y a pas d'acenseur, la réception nous a proposé la chambre 2 au rez de chaussée. Tout était impeccable et nous avons payé 20 euros de moins que ce qui était prévu. This hotel was a great find. Staff were quite accommodating, the hotel was located very near shopping, a nice outdoor cafe overlooking a small piazza, and was an easy walk from the downtown shops, Duomo (which is magnificent!), and the Piazza del Campo (also breathtaking!). The room was very clean, very spacious for European standards, and ours overlooked the outdoor terrace which in turn overlooked the AC Sienna soccer stadium. No games were played while we were there, so the room was very quiet and comfortable. The area in which they serve breakfast was also pleasantly bright (lots of windows) and airy. Great value in an otherwise very expensive region! Would definitely re-book at this location when in Siena. (The only negative, was that they did not provide irons or ironing boards which they claimed was due to fire codes, so bringing a dual-voltage portable steamer would be a good idea!)

The rating on quietness of the room is due to the bells chiming from Santa Dominico right outside the room (I was at the front of the hotel). &am and again at 7.30am is rather early for someone who is on holiday. However, everything else made up for this and I will certainly stay at Chiusarelli again.

The streets of Siena are convoluted to say the least so finding the hotel was some what difficult, but once found it was worth the stay. The employees were most helpful and spoke very good English. The rooms were clean and the meal at the hotel restaurant excellent. If you stay on a Saturday, as we did, it can be a bit noisy what with an evening football game in progress in the stadium just behind the hotel but for us it just added to the fun and excitement of exploring Siena.

We were given the last available room which was on the groung floor, less than 2 metres from the road. There was heavy rain and we asked the front desk to order us a taxi as we thought this was likely to be difficult. The staff decided to to order in advance and we were unable to get a taxi at all when they eventually tried to start calling one. Otherwise the hotel was quite adequate and reasonable value/location

The hotel is very nice, and it`s located very near the center. The interiours is beautiful and the service exellent. We will recomend the hotel if you are not stone rich.

A welcoming hotel, which is well positioned. A shame we had to suffer the building work going on at the football stadium from early till late... such are the demands of Serie A!

Very noisy as building work going on behind hotel in stadium. Photographs on website misleading and bedroom and bathroom not as shown. Location fine and 3 star quality.

This hotel is in a great location beside the bus station and just a short walk from Piazza del Campo and all the shops. The restaurant is excellent value and the food is very nice - better than anywhere else we tried in Siena! However, I thought the rooms could have been cleaner - especially the bathroom which was smelly. Overall - a good hotel but probably not worth the price.

We were very excited to be staying at this hotel on our wedding night. But, to our dismay, we were greeted with a grumpy front deskman who was not at all interested in helping us in any capacity, much less engaging in any type of conversation at all. We found the room to be actually much smaller than we had thought-it barely fit a double bed. This was a big difference from the prior friendly e-mails we had communicated before we arrived. Overall it was an okay stay--the breakfast room is large and sunny, and we were told to ask for a room with a balcony.

Great hotel, easy location to find in Siena and having a car park right there was wonderful! We would definitely stay there again. Breakfast was good also.

This was a very nice hotel in Siena. It was easy to find as it is very near the San Domenico basilica so we just followed the signs. Unfortunately, when we arrived we found out that there was a football game the next day and no parking is allowed anywhere in the city. The hotel was very vague about where we could find parking. Finally someone directed us to the S. Caterina parking lot. The restuarant in the hotel was fantastic and had a wonderful wine expert on staff. We enjoyed our stay.

Only down side was that the room didn't have a minibar. Since it's often difficult to find places that are open at night in Italy, the minibar can be invaluable.

Single room #31 faced front road. Hotel was good, except for the noise level in that room. Would stay there again, but only on back side of hotel.

The hotel was nice and very convenient. The rooms, though, were only adequate - not very inviting or warm. Facilities were just fine and the restaurant was great.

This was our first visit to Sienna, and we were hoping for a hotel close to everything. Well, we certainly got it and then some. We could walk everywhere and within two minutes where right in town. All convenient stores in the area. Fantastic, large Cosmetic/Drug Store across the street, selling everything anyone might need. The best kept secret is a Restaurant just around the corner from the above mentioned store. The open for dinner at 8 p.m. The food is wonderful and reasonable, but the view and ambience cannot be beat. Unfortunately we didn't discover thisplace until our last night. The hotel is extremely clean. The rooms are plain but a good size and more than adequate. Ask for a room facing the back as it is more quiet. We had the best breakfasts in Italy in this hotel. The staff spoke English very well and were quite helpul. If you like to ride bikes through the Tuscany Country side, you may rent them through the Hotel. This is something else we did not discover until the last morning. Sienna is a wonderful town and should not be missed on any Italien itinerary.

A comfortable and welcoming Hotel within five minutes walk of the bus station at Piazza Gramschi and only ten minutes walk from the campo and the heart of the city. Drawback is that there is no lift so mobility impaired travellers would be limited to ground floor rooms which could possibly be slightly noisy at the front of the hotel facing the road; not a major problem however. Hotel has a restaurant/bar which we have been told are moderately priced and rather good, though not tried by ourselves. No problem in recommending.

My husband and I stayed at a the Porta Roca Hotel a four star in 5 Terra Monterosso, Italy. The price 275 Euro per night. It was horrible. The Chiusarelli was a five star when measured against the Porta Roca. The Chiusarelli had spacious rooms, nice size bathroom, a great breakfast, wonderful service, and fabulous recommendations for dinner. The price was wonderful 120 Euro per night inclusive. We would rec. this hotel to anyone, and you will not be disappointed.

Located at a 5 minute walk from the historical area. The best breakfast we had during our 3 week stay in Italy. The staff was helpful and they even moved cars in their private parking so we didn't have to park in public parking ( you may have to insist a bit but they'll do it with a smile. The room was spacious and very clean. They even have a nice patio where they serve breakfast with a view on the Football field. Fortunately enough there were no game when we passed by!

Our room was facing the rear garden area with a small private balcony. The room was sparsely but tastefully decorated, very clean and modernized. The location was excellent, staff was polite and helpful. One of the best deals throughout our trip. Very highly recommended!

The rooms were clean but very plain. Breakfast was more than satisfactory with a variety of cereals, breakfast meats and pastries. The terrace is lovely but the views are not great. The lack of an elevator was very inconvenient in the summer heat. They need to sound proof the windows and install better air conditioning. We just never cooled off.

The ground floor room which we had was evry noisy with noise coming from people on the loggia at the back of the hotel and people going through reception. However, we were so impressed with the hotel's location that we went back later in the week. We were given an upstairs room which was much quieter. We very much enjoyed our stay - thank you.
