Great location, walk to everywhere in town. Excellent room with a great view. Private parking, at a price. Breakfast somewhat thin and WiFi works only near the recption office.

I think the hotel is overestimated due to the photographs shown on the webpage. Siena is a very nice and cute town and the hotel is not well located in the center.

It is a beautiful hotel. My room is cozy and comfortable. It is not in the center of town but within walkable distance. Siena is a small town anyway. Their breakfast is hearty and delicious.

This was such a wonderful hotel. I have been to Italy more than enough times to know that you usually do not get your bags brought up to your room. I was pleasantly surprised that they had a lift do to just that. The breakfast room, food and service were excellent. The view out of the windows were inspiring. We had room 11 which had it's own big patio area which was a wonderful surprise. The hotel is on the side of the university, but certainly not any farther than other hotels just outside the opposite city walls. This will be my hotel next time I come to Siena, for sure!!!

Siena is an amazing city but this hotel made our stay even more special. It is a beautiful place with antastic views over the Tuscan countryside. It is in the city centre just 10mins walk from the Duomo. The breakfast is excellent. The staff were so helpful, they made phone calls for us to help out with bus tickets and printed off info for day trips. I would love to go back again!

This hotel is an absolute gem -helpful friendly staff and a beautiful interior. The breakfast room is lovely with a superb view accross the city. The breakfast was self service with a very large selection to choose from. Overall we felt that it was very good value for money. Only one thing to mention - there is no lift - so you do have to carry your cases upstairs but for us that was a minor detail. Can't quite understand why this hotel is not classified.

An atmospheric hotel in quiet surroundings, just minutes from the Duomo. Large breakfast room with nice views.

Outstanding location, terrible service, fair quality rooms, but this is Europe, everything is smaller.

We had the only standard room on the 4th (top) floor (according to the size of rooms on a plan behind our room door). However it was big enough by European standards and the fantastic view from the window was worth the 55 steps you need to climb - no lifts here :-) We stayed two nights and this hotel was certainly the best we stayed in during a tour of Italy and France. Siena is a 'must see' destination and this was a 'must stay' hotel!

We only had a short time in Siena (one night) but Il Chiostro del Carmine met all our needs. It is extremely convenient to all the major sites in Siena and there are some excellent and inexpensive restaurants just around the corner. The only negative regarding the property were the 54 steps we had to negotiate with luggage, to get to our room on the 2nd floor but this was a minor inconvenience. The breakfast served in the cellar adds wonderfully to the atmosphere of the former monastry. I recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Siena.

Great location on this hotel. Right in the city walls and only 2/3 mins walk to the Duomo. The bathroom was fabulous - bright red tiles but great shower and facilities. The bedroom was quite sparse and for an executive room there were no tea/coffee facilities - almost like a dorm room. The bed though was huge and we had a chair in the corner and a small flat screen on the wall. Breakfast was either in the small breakfast room or outside in the cloisters (if the weather is nice).

Steps were a problem - exhausting! Beautiful place though. Buzzing noise in room all night - not air-con as turned off. Nice comfortable bed for tall husband - as requested

Siena was beautiful , a lovely town to walk around for the couple of days that we stayed. The hotel was comfortable , the staff helpful . One problem that older people may have is that there is no lift to the second and third floors , but i am surethat in this case rooms on the ground floor would be made available.

We had a small room with a fabulous view of the Tuscan hillside. Breakfast was good too. But we were annoyed at having to pay cash when they were having problems with their systems for credit cards. About a 10 minute walk from the main square, not too much else around the hotel.

Our room seemed to be an annex of a bigger room (there was a door leading to an other room). Moreover a stair was in the middle of the room which reduced the space (which was scarce): we could not even open our luggage. We expected a better quality for the price we paid (and we precised that for the same amount we had better services in other places advised by venere). We asked for an other room but the only solution which was offered was to move to an other hotel without parking and too far from the initial one. Then we would have to walked with our luggage. The cardkey of our door did not work and hopefully we asked for a regular one so as to enter the room. We do not recommend this hotel.
