This is a beautiful hotel and the location is ideal but we were given a disappointingly small room with a view on a noisy street so could not sleep till early morning.Make sure you book a superior room with view of the Duomo.

We had trouble finding the hotel (which is in a superb mid-town location), but we made it with the help of the staff, all of whom were exceptionally helpful and friendly. We had a third-floor room with a stunning view over the town. Our 2-day stay was wonderful, and if we ever return to Siena we will stay in this hotel again.

Good hotel, very good location, very pleasant rooms and public areas except the room for the breakfast (correct but not as pleasant as the other public areas) and the breakfast itself which is expensive for its quality. Internet by Wifi not free which is unusual currently for the category of the hotel (5* L).

This hotel is absolutely lovely and the staff is fabulous. My only issue is that the brunch is way over-priced. Otherwise, I have no complaints and would stay here everytime I come to Siena.

We stayed in several extremely nice hotels on this trip, but this was the only one that was very little quality for the money. The breakfast wasn't included and the price was more than quoted online--almost double. Most importantly we asked the concierge to book train tickets and asked for first class. Upon arriving at the Florence station (Siena to Florence was regional and not first class) and boarding the train, we discovered that we had 2nd class tickets. They hadn'd said anything about 1st being unavailable when they gave us our tickets. I do not recommend this hotel.

This hotel is fine to stay in if money is no object. However, there are a number of things that are disappointing about the hotel. First the signature room that they show on all their promotional material is locked and not open to the public. The actual lobby is nowhere near as opulent as the room they use in their photo promotion. Secondly they charge you exobitantly for every little extra. Parking is 45 Euros per day. Internet access is 5 Euros for 15 minutes. Breakfast was included in our room rate and was supposed to finish at 11:00. We arrived at 10:45 and the breakfast had been closed and the staff were only willing to bring us a cappuccino and a bowl of cereal. The breakfast even when it was available did not compare well to other much less expensive hotels we stayed in. Again, if you have money to burn - try it. If not I would suggest the Palazzo Ravizza which is half the price and twice the service.

Hotel staff were particularly welcoming, naturally so. Room was comfortable, you could also sit and read a book there, though as always in Italy, on the small side. I would go there again. Public areas are ok for having a coffee and reading the newspaper, but not truly Grand Hotel. The most beautiful reception room, also as photo on website, is not open for hotel guests to relax in, I visited it though. Restaurant/Bar serves ok food, but best bet is to go to a local place around the corner.

Very expensive hotel, however the location demands that. Was disapointed that there was now a charge for parking and that the hotel did not have a handle on the parking options. The bellman was terrific and drove us to an alternative garage, however they would not accept our car...lot was full, desk should have called ahead. Sienna has been a destination for us for 3 years, however if it gets any more expensive we will make other plans.
