The rooms are a little bit old style...with old (dirty) carpets.

I was lucky to get a big room w an excellent view as other rooms on the same floor are a lot smaller. It's in easy walking distance to Nanjing Rd. and the Bund. Beautiful lobby

Nice room with fantastic view. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was lovely. Just one problem my credit card wouldn't work and although I could afford the room I didn't have enough for the massive deposit so had to check out after one night. For some reason the deposit was more for two nights than one so I left and checked into the Nanjing Hotel around the corner. There was not mention of a deposit at the time of booking and I couldn't understand why full payment for the room in advance wasn't enough.

It's a shame a so nice and competent international hotel offers so few pictures of it in its site. There is nothing to be afraid of! The hotel is just perfect and the services provided are great! For the experienced traveller and for the newbie, this is the spot!

The hotel is not bad. The RiverView rooms at high floors are nice with a view on Pudong but with a closer area not very interesting. The area is close to Nanjing Road, but walking you have to pass through a dirty neighborhood, not dangerous but dirty. Taxis are very cheap, so maybe the area is not very important in Shanghai. Good price / value but you can find something better. In Shanghai the employees of the hotel don't speak English or just a little, but it seems to be the same everywhere. Bring with you the print of the hotel address in chinese or you will never get there.
