Stayed 3 night at this hotel. Very nice hotel with a beautiful orange garden. Our friends had a room with a big patio. We had just a very nice comfortable room. This hotel is not very close to major attractions but it's like a 25 min walk through old Seville streets. May be considered like a benefit.

The hotel is a good base for exploring Sevilla - only a comfortable 15-20 minute stroll to the cathedral and Alcazar. It is very well signposted for those coming by car - make sure you follow the signs despite the narrowness of the streets (and ignore impatient drivers behind you!). The hotel takes your car away for you to secure parking. The hotel is surprisingly spacious for an inner city hotel. It is nicely laid out, with many rooms overlooking a lovely courtyard - we had one of these but sadly someone had been smoking in it and the room we were moved to was away at the back. But the rooms were good, with very modern fittings and fairly spacious (though our first was bigger than the one we ended up in). We did not dine at the hotel, but breakfast was fine - though the fruit selection was more limited than elsewhere we stayed in Spain. For dining in town I would strongly recommend the Bar and Restaurant Modesto both for tapas and full meals - it's on calle Cano y Cueto, close to one end of the Murillo Gardens.

We travelled to Sevilla for our Baby-moon and enjoyed our stay at San Gils very much. Central, but not too touristy located, 20 min walk to the Giralda through a very nice neighbourhood. The San Gil has a very nice and cool Patio and very spacious modern rooms. One tip: We didnt take our breakfast in the hotel, but visited a bar near the Macarena church, where we had tostados, churros and good coffee - good recommendation from the San Gil staff. We would do it again...

Decent enough location and helpful staff. Checked in to a modern room but found loud construction work very near, so was promptly moved to another, older and less modern room. The second room's bed was large but was really two single beds pushed together under a single headboard. Pool was freezing but the inner courtyard and a la cart menu was very agreeable. Free wifi in the lobby.

Car parking arrangements are inadequate - public park some 400 metres away, difficult to find and return from. There is no short term loading bay at hotel.

Our room was fabulous; we regret we only had one night to stay at San Gil. We were in the older section of the hotel that was modernized and beautifully appointed, so we think we had the best of both worlds. Magical! Staff was most accomodating. Location was convenient to everything on our list. Hotel a bit tucked away, but that just added to the mystique. The food was good. They had free flamenco dancing at dinner, which was a nice treat, but if you're serious about seeing this professionally executed, try another venue. We shall return!

The hotel is in the inner circle of the city but a good 25-minute-walk away from the cathedral. Too inconvenient to go and return easily. But there are buses. Nevertheless I would go for a more central hotel next time. Our romm was in the back of the hotel with its window facing the public corridor which is wha we had to draw the curtains all the time - which I hate. So ask for other rooms.

Hotel with good installations, not very well located for visiting Sevilla purposes. Staff not attentive as they should be. Spacious rooms, good bath. However, there is a very strong smell of sewage in corridors and in the room itself (my room was in the reception floor).

It was my first time in seville, and the roads around the area of the hotel are in the old area of the city, but i was just amazed how narrow the streets where, to drive through. but what a great hotel in a lovely area, the near by av. Alameda de Hercules, was a fantastic area for eating and drinking, and very friendly and a good social atmosphere, great stay and lots of other sites to visit.

Lovely area a bit off the beaten tracks, well connected with bus in case your feet are boiling. Very nice hotel, around a patio with oranges tree in the middle and pool on the roof. Patio are lovely but sometimes a bit noisy (not awfully).

We loved Hotel San Gill but were completely surprised by how far from the center of the city it was. This was a function of the map locater in Frommer's guide, which had the location completely wrong. The area where the hotel is, is not within walking distance of the city center. There are almost no restaurants nearby, and those that are, are closed on Sunday and Monday. The area is experiencing a rennaisance and will be tres chic in a few years. Although we would never have found the fantastic restaurant- Manolo y Leon if we had not staid at San Gil, don't miss it.

The parking facilities provided were difficult to find even with the bad map and bad directions the hotel staff gave us, I mean it was fairly ridiculous. When we did find it 2 streets over and 30 mins later, having to drive down a one way street as recomended by hotel staff we were not happy! The sensor on the wall to open garage was only marked with a chalked x!It took me quite a while to find it and only then by pure chance. We didn't eat that night as it was too late by then. The room was cold, no extra blankets provided and it stank of smoke. Also the bathroom could have been a bit cleaner. I've stayed in quite a few hotels in Seville and I wouldn't use this one again.

San Gil, is an oasis of calm in the macarena area of Seville. The staff are attentive and courteous and the standard of cleanliness etc is excellent. The hotel is centred around a peaceful courtyard and the rooms overlook this lovely area. We did not dine in the hotel but breakfasts standards were good. This is our secind visit and would always use this hotel when visiting Seville. Its location is good with the centre and sights etc in comfortable walking distance through the lovely streets of the macarena.

Very nice stay - would say however that dinner at the restaurant leaves a bit to be desired. Service was not great and the food was not as good as we found elsewhere in Seville. Breakfast however was excellent. Rooms were clean beds were comfortable, bit of noise in the halls but the couryard and pool were very nice to sit and relax in.

We were somewhat disappointed about the fact that there was no internet connection, nor in the rooms, nor in the lounge. Also, the rooms were not so modern anymore and could use a freshen-up.

I would highly recommend the hotel. The rooms were really clean and large and the staff were very helpful. The only drawback is that its not right in the tourist centre but we enjoyed our 15 minute walks to the centre and the advantage of the location was that it was vey quiet!

No jacuzzi in our room, looks like we go one of the five rooms without, room was also quite noisy. Alot futher from the town centre then we realised. Staff were execellent so was the breakfast and the pool more than made up for the distance from the town centre

The room was small and cramped, there was no need for the large settee (a couple of chairs would have sufficed) which together with the bed completely swamped the room and left little space for any movement. I would not have stayed in the room for a second night! The fridge door didn't close properly. The toilet was so close to the opposite wall, a tall person would have banged their knees when sitting down! There were no small spoons laid out in the breakfast room and when I asked one of the staff for one, she seemed quite surly and when returning, didn't bring one to my table but took them to the general cutlery cabinet instead, not a great inconvenience, but not good service either! A shame, because the rest of the hotel staff were very efficient and friendly. A very nice courtyard and foyer. and the roof terrace was excellent. I have stayed at better hotels in Seville for the same money. Not the best, but not one of the worst either!

We chose a junior suite which I can recommend as we had our own private roof terrace with sun loungers and a rahter fab bathroom. The location of the hotel does mean lots of walking or use of the buses. All in all a good hotel.

Nous avons passé un séjour très agréable dans ce charmant hôtel. Seul petit inconvénient: la piscine n'était pas ouverte lors de notre séjour fin mai, malgré des températures déjà estivales.

Venere quoted 222EU but it was actually 172EU, nice surprise but it could have put us off going there! We loved the hotel it was beautiful. Only problem was arriving by car. The maps don't show the one-way streets, so after passing the hotel at the wrong end of the street we had a nightmare of half hour driving around dozens of very narrow streets - mostly one way before we got to the correct end of Parrass and fortunately found a parking space outside the hotel.

Disappointed when we had to change our room due a flood next door. That was unavoidable, but there was no apology or compensation offered. The packed breakfast on the day of departure due to an early flight was unimaginative and poor value. We had asked in advance if they would cancel breakfast but we had to accept it. The one meal we had, apart from breakfasts which were excellent, was poor value.
