Really beautiful place. Only breakfast is a little bit expansive (13€/person). If you take only a coffee or cappuccino and croissant you better go down out of the hotel as most people do. Why do not offer it inside? Everything else is just perfect. Thank you.

The hotel has 4 stars: it is surely too much! Three stars would be correct. Our room was very small and very dark. The forniture was old (not antique, just old) and brocken. The service bad. The price much to high for that place! We also had problems with the parking: after paying 20 E a day (in other towns the price is 12 - 14 E) we were not allowed to keep OUR car key! And had to leave the parking at 3 p.m., though we came in the previous day at 7 p.m. and paid for 24 hours. The worst and more expensive hotel in our andalusian roundtrip!

Personnel clearly irritated by the presence of customers. Thin paper walls let people know about various habits of neighbors. Light arrangement in the room made reading in bed impossible. Watery coffee for a very expensive - but overall quite poor - breakfast. Very difficult if not impossible to reach with a car. This hotel takes its only advantage from the incredible location: right aside Sevilla cathedral. Next time in Sevilla, we would choose a different one.

The first room we were put in was a nicce room but beside the terrace bar on the 4th floor. It was unbearably noisy, but the hotel readily changed our room to a smaller but quiet one the next day. Position excellent, and overall enjoyable.

This is not a 4 star hotel. It's very hard to find if you travel by car(even with GPS) because it's in the heart of the city and many streets are narrow, just for walking or even closed. Once you get there the location is wonderful, right near the Giralda. You can have a mesmerizing view of the tour right from the hotel terrace on the upper floor. The rooms one the other hand were awful. The beds were bolted to the wall so they wouldn't crumble. The bathroom was very poorly equipped and the staff were simply disappointing for so many reasons. Also the parking lot was full so imagine how i had to go through the maze of the city all over again. If i were you i'd find another hotel in the area and i'd have a drink one night on this one's terrace

We were very disappointed in the Hotel Dona Maria. Although the location is central and the rooftop is lovely, the hotel facilities and services are far below what I would expect at this price. Our room was cramped and full of mosquitoes. The bed was not very comfortable. We found the front desk staff to be surly. There was construction right outside our window, and while the hotel cannot be blamed for that, it certainly didn't make the stay any better. Two days into our four-day stay, we found that a new luxury hotel had opened up two blocks away and was charging 30 euros LESS per night for the same size room! At that point we were unable to cancel our stay at Dona Maria without incurring a penalty, so we stayed the full four nights.

We stayed at Hotel Doña Maria from 10 - 13 September and had a lovely time. The hotel is lovely with lots of character and history and we had a spacious, clean room. The location is within short walking distance to the most famous attractions, with the cathedral across the square. The pool offered a refreshing break in the midday heat and there was a great view from the terrace. The rate from Venere was much cheaper than direct through the Hotel and we got great value for money.

It is probably the best situated hotel in Seville if you're doing the tourist thing. The rooftop patio has a swimming pool and bar (stays open till 2 a.m.)and good view overlooking square and cathedral... *** Beware though the bill upon check out adds about an extra 7% tax to the price that's quoted here *** I was quoted about 80 per room for 3 nights = €240. I got 1 breakfast, which was €13. But much better to go out to some of the surrounding cafe's restaurants, etc. and get something there.

The hotel is in a fantastic location right in the centre of the city. The rooms are of a good size, perhaps a little tired but spotlessly clean. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Seville is wonderful relaxed and friendly city with plenty to see and do. The rooftop pool at the hotel provided a welcome refreshment at the end of a day's sightseeing.

I enjoyed my stay (1 week) in Seville in the Dona Maria Hotel. As per any forum you might be on, it will state that this hotel has one of the best locations in the city. It's roof top pool and bar are wonderful. The only 2 things that let this hotel down are that breakfast is not included in the overall price, rooms being quite expensive (given that it is not really a 4 star hotel). The other negative is that the rooms shown on the website are not possibly what you will get when you arrive! BE WARNED!!

First time at the Dona Maria and in Sevilla. Hotel is in a GREAT location, in the heart of the old city! English spoken at the desk. Rooms are noisy - have thin walls - bring your earplugs! Rooms have safes and minibars. Breakfast was not included. Way overpriced for the room, but otherwise an ok stay.

We stay at Hotel Dona Maria in March 2008 in a triple room and the location of the structure in front of the cathedral is wonderful. The room was very clean and spacious but the isolation of the room could be improved. When we reserved the room we didn't notice that the price doesn't include breakfast and at check-out we were very surprised about it. We suggest the hotel to people who have few days to visit the city and the price does worth the stay. A last suggestion: visit the Hammam very closed to the hotel; we end our stay with relax and massages... Wonderful :)

The hotel is perfectly situated for visiting the Santa Cruz area and the centre of Seville. Being so close to the Cathedral I did hear the bells ringing on the hour during the night though. The room was not very big but clean and comfortable. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the public areas of the hotel were welcoming and comfortable. The breakfast buffet offered plenty of choice. I went to the hotel by Taxi and would definitely advise anyone arriving by car to study their route first due to all the very narrow one way streets. I will probably stay there again next time I go to Seville.

plus points: location, location, location. Quiet side street. Garage parking, free broadband wireless access in the rooms. Cafes for breakfast 5 mins away. Room comfortable enough. Rooftop pool could be appealing after a long day but we stayed in November so could not appreciate it. Minus points: impossible to find on your own if arriving by car. If you have time and a spirit of adventure, fine. Otherwise, follow the advice of another guest who stayed here and drive to a taxi rank and pay a few Euros to follow a taxi to the hotel. Minor complaint- parking was more expensive than advertised. The apology about the website not being updated with current prices was lame when the printed prices hanging behind reception also showed a lower price. Five Euros and not worth calling the manager and having an argument about, but we left on a bad note.

The hotel is in a great location, with excellant views from the rooftop pool/bar area. Room was nice, although the walls were thin and the bathroom door would not close. Great location.... but boy! if you are driving there you better pull over and pay a taxi a few euro to lead you there... and make sure you are in a small car too as the back one-way streets are narrow. FUN! Our room was nice with lovely finisihing touches. EG quality linen and drapes. However some of it is trying to fool you, such as droopey wobbley brass light fittings. As other reviews have said, the staff can be a little cold but we found them helpful and proffesional. We were in Room 308 which had a balcony view of the Cathedral, I would reccommend maybe 208 or 209 as dirrectly above us was the pool and deck and we were disturbed by foot steps and tables/chairs scraping hence 5/10 for quietness. Oh and you better like Church Bells going off if you want the view. its loud but beautiful.

Beautifully traditional in it's style, and couldn't fault location in the shadow of the cathedral. Fould the room a little dark and not as big as hoped, but the bathroom made up for it. Overall, excellent venue for our 3-day visit to Seville

Staff a bit cool, but certainly competent and no rudeness encountered. The room was comfortable, well-appointed and clean. The hotel is very tastefully decorated with antiques and art pieces in the public areas. Roof-top bar with view of the cathedral across the square is a unique feature. Location could not have been more perfect---two-minute walk across square to cathedral, three-minute walk across square to Alcazar and Gothic Barrio right next door. A tired tourist's perfect location!

Location, location, location - it really couldn't be better! you are right in the heart of the old quarter here (Santa cruz) and you really could throw a stone to the cathedral! The hotel as a wonderful rooftop garden, complete with (small) swimming pool and bar; although it seemed to close rather early, and the door was locked so no late night viewing of the surroundings :-( Seville is a fairly compact city, and easy for walking round (with a good map! - lots of narrow, twisting streets). But to see all the main sites (Cathedral, Real Alcazar) you won't find a better located hotel. Other sites (Bull ring, university area, etc). are just a few minutes walk away. We paid 150 Euro per night (3 nights) and overall, I don't think that's a bad price considering the location and hotel quality in general. Our room was decorated to a very high standard, with quality fittings and fixtures. But the air con unit did seem rather lack lustre... Only real dissapointment with room was that, due to the hotel layout, it had no external windows - only a window opening onto a internal service column, so no view whatsoever and could feel a little claustrophobic with the lack of a window. Although I guess this kept the noise level down.... Breakfast was not included in our rate, and the supplement (15 Euro per person) seemed rather steep; but there are plenty of places nearby to use as an alternative. There is no restaurant at the hotel, but as you are right in the middle of everything, finding somewhere to eat will not be a problem; round the corner is the street 'Mateos Gago' which has plenty of tapas bars to sample.

The location of the property could not have been better. The staff was extremely helpful. Our only objection was that the price of breakfast was very expensive so we went elsewhere. We would definitely come back to this hotel and would recommend it to all.

This is a spectacular hotel--in every way. The rooms were great, the hotel staff is great and the rooftop pool is INCREDIBLE! This is the only place to stay in Sevilla--in the heart of the city and across the street from the Giralda. We had an issue in Sevilla--our passports/credit cards/cash were stolen. Be careful in Sevilla, but it is a wonderful city. When we had our problem, the hotel staff was very accomodating and helpful. Again, I would definitely visit Sevilla--and the only place to stay is the Dona Maria!

The hotel was in a fabulous location, rooms were comfortable and pool area and view just great! Breakfast is varied and good, although a little pricey at €12 a head. The only downside to the property was the lacklustre service. Front desk staff not forthcoming and slow. Often no bar staff at the poolside bar and even a call to reception to ask for service does not seem to speed their appearance. This would not stop me returning to this hotel though on future trips to Seville as its got the perfect location in such a beautiful city.

The hotel's greatest asset is its location. Right in the heart of the old city by the cathedral. It is an old building in an old part of town, so do not expect modern bedrooms, but appreciate the grandeur of the building and the antique furnishings. Overall good value and an excellent central base for discovering old Seville. Two minor observations. 1.Reception staff could have been better informed and more helpful. 2. Hotel breakfast was not good value. We had it once and then eat out for the rest of our stay

The hotel was certainly in the heart of Seville, it could have been difficult to find if arriving by car rather than taxi, and although parking is offered, it's not guaranteed, so it's just as well we decided to wait until leaving Seville to pick up the car. While coffee is served on the Terrace, I hadn't expected them to stop serving coffee at midnight, while the bar was open later. The bed was well past its sell-by date.
