Hotel Doña Carmela - Seville

Very nice week end in Sevilla, we were two friends, and we went for a tennis match. The hotel is really interesting, comfortable, the personal very kind, always motivated to help you. The shuttle to the airport and to the center (included in price) is perfect.

The shuttle bus service is an excellent tool to visit Seville without additional expense. It's free and takes you right to the heart of the city. It felt like staying in a hotel right in the heart of the city, with the added advantage that the location is quiet, safe, and easy to roam around. Just in front of the hotel you can find a supermarket with amazingly cheap prices. Beer is easy and cheap to find in the surroundings and before you know it, you'll be making friends with the locals, even though most of them do not speak English. The only difficulty I faced, was the fact that only one of the receptionists was able to fully understand my conversation in English or in Italian.

We reserved a room for two kids an their parents. The space of the room was like a double room and too small. The room was next to the elevator and you could hear it. Since we were tired from the day, it did not harm. The description of the hotel and of the location is correct. However, as a tourist one should consider whether it is better to stay right in the center of Sevilla.

I would suggest the Hotel. It provides many good services. A free bus connects to the city center. Internet is available and the restaurant offers good quality and good prices both for beakfast and dinner.

El Hotel esta en excelentes condiciones, el personal es muy amable y atento, sin embargo queda bastante largo del centro de la ciudad. Para llegar se necesita ir en bus público x aproximadamente 30 min y luego agarrar un pequeño tranvia dependiendo de donde quiera ir o ir en taxi pero es mas caro.

Very good ratio quality/price. The hotel is in a strategic position if you have a car (we do not tried the shuttle service): it is easy to reach the hotel from motorway (close to the junction), and it is easy to reach the downtown (simply go always straight away).

Nous avons apprécié le buffet de petit déjeuner très varié, la possibilité de dîner sur place le soir, la possibilité d'une place de parking au sous-sol, la navette de minibus de l'hôtel vers le centre-ville et retour à certaines heures (un gros plus pour cet hôtel à 10-15 mn du centre en voiture), l'anglais parlé à la réception.

OTTIMO RAPPORTO QUALITA' PREZZO. UN PO' FUORI MANO MA L'HOTEL METTE A DISPOSIZIONE UNA NAVETTA PER RAGGIUNGERE IL CENTRO (5 MINUTI) E PER CHI E' IN MACCHINA CI SONO BUONE POSSIBILITA' DI PARCHEGGIO NEI PARAGGI.

It was a 4 places room - this hotel is for travellers who need one or two nights there

The location is a bit far from city center, but it offer free shuttle service (scheduled) and is served by bus nearby (24h). I stayed in the top floor, the room was a bit hot and the AC unit was noisy. And the breakfast... Just arrive early or there wont have much left.

This is an ok hotel for the price - a good value. Rooms and the hotel overall were clean and well kept. The location is ok - near enough to central Seville. But the location surroundings are not so nice (an unattractive neighborhood). The restaurant was reasonably good. Overall, Ok value for the money.

A bit out of town, but free shuttle service provided. Poor buffet breakfast is included, but great little hotel restaurant for lunch or dinner, at a very reasonable price. Lots of free parking nearby.

Si bien queda algo lejos del centro, el servicio de bus que lleva del hotel ida/vuelta resuelve el tema. La calidez y predisposición de quienes atienden es para destacar.

Recomiendo totalmente el hotel, porque aunque está alejado del centro, te acercan en un autobús propio del hotel y gratuito. El servicio es muy bueno, el hotel es acogedor, limpio tranquilo y los precios muy aceptables. El hotel ha ayudado a que la estancia sea todavía más agradable.

The hotel itself was quite nice but very isolated from any bars, restaurants or shops. Having said that there was an excellent courtesy bus for dropping off and picking up wherever youn wanted to go. The hotel restaurant was over priced and not much choice on the menu. It was also in spanish and our phrase book was useless, therefore our meal was not very enjoyable. Overall it was a pleasant stay (overnight) but we would prefer to be more central next time.

Hotel veramente carino e confortevole....se avete la macchina e' l'ideale perche' la struttura e' situato a circa 7 km dal centro della citta' che comunque e' facilissimo raggiungere....se non avete la macchina c'e' una navetta dell'hotel ad orari prestabiliti...ottimo rapporto qualita' prezzo.....consigliato

Great hotel, although outside the center of Seville, the hotel compensates with a bus service to the city center, and to the places where there are events (april fair, bullring, etc)

The only problem is that the hotel is far from the centre of the city, but there is a convenient bus line for that.

The hotel is fine overall, with a very good restaurant offering good day specials (Menu del dia) for just 11 Euros per person. However, it also has some drawbacks: first, make sure you are on your own car if you go there, since the free shuttle bus provided by the hotel to go to Sevilla center is only at certain hours, with long breaks (e.g. from 4pm to 8pm), so we could not use it. Also, be prepared to ask for directions: the hotel is hard to find because the provided map is too general, a local area map would be of great help in order to understand to exact route to follow (there are roundabouts, you have to know where to go..). Room: in our case the hotel did not provide a real double room as indicated on the reservation form: it was a twin room instead - which disappointed us a lot - whose only window was on an internal small courtyard, providing very little fresh air (the air conditioning, in april, was not operating). Breakfast: just fair, they could add at least some pastry (a croissant?) since the only thing you get is basically fresh bread. Overall judgment: this hotel can be value for money if you can pay it not over 50-60 euros per room per night, but at the Semana Santa rate (120 Euros) we found it too expensive and out of city.

The surroundings are absolutely awful, it seems to be in an area that has been hit by a bomb and has been destroyed apart the hotel: there are car thieves and prostitutes.

It was very dissappointing to learn that the hotel was actually 1/2 hr drive from the centre of Seville. Many city taxi firms were reluctant to take us back to our hotel because of it's location. There was an excellent public bus service which took you into town but very hard to try and find the bus service back to the hotel because of the road works and diversions in the centre of Seville. I would not use this hotel again because of it's location.

Rooms and breakfest ok. noisy rush-hour on the street in front of the hotel in the morning an in the afternoon. later in the night better. easy way to the city by car or taxi. price ok

I booked the hotel bvecause it waas advertised as a 5 minute walk fromk the city centre. This proved to be incorrect--a taxi ride took 20-30 minutes and the hotels transport 30-50 mins depending on traffic. For a short trip the hotel is unsuitable as it is too far out and it is a pity that the inaccurate description was allowed to be used on the web site

A prima vista l'albergo non sembra particolarmente promettente. Tuttavia una notazione particolare va fatta alle camere che sono ben arredate, allegre, moderne ed accoglienti. Colazione non ricchissima ma sufficiente. Nota dolente: l'albergo è completamente fuori dal centro città. Un problema per chi non ha una auto al seguito.

The Hotel is pleasant as a whole, but very far from the city centre, and very difficult to find if you don't have a map of the sorroundings of Seville.If we hadn't had the car, it would have been a real problem. I think it should be clearly mentioned on the web page.

Good distance from the city center and it's well served by bus.

The hotel service and rooms were very good but the location was a little far from the city centre. But, there was a direct bus (no.72) from the hotel till the city centre..the ride took 15-20 mins. The hotel provided a free shuttle service for rides to and from the airport/train station. Internet was not free but could be bought for a minimal charged and used in the rooms on private laptops or on teh public computer.

Fantastic base to explore the city, away from all the hustle and bustle, but not too far to enjoy the most beautiful scenary and culture of the city of Seville.
