Brilliant hotel for staying near the Alcázar in Sevilla! The rooms in the hotel were spacious, quiet and adequately decorated for the price paid. Outside there were also a good number of cafés/cervezerías within easy walking distance. My only gripe is that insulation between our room and the one next door was a little thin. We could hear people next door having a heated discussion about one thing or another (their TV could also be heard - or maybe they simply had it on too loud). Oh yeah, and the bathroom fittings were a little old (and loose). In particular the holder/rail for the shower head felt like it was about to come out of the wall during use. Otherwise though, I'd give this hotel 90% and would recommend it to others!

staying in this hotel was fine, all good. room large, cleaned, also great bathroom. double glass to reduce external noise. Breakfast not best quality, but you could eat all without quantity limit. great position, ten minutes to alcazar and cathedral. Simple to find with Car. if i should return in Sevilla, i think i'll return at Hotel Alcazar

Not too difficult to find. Try to get directions before you leave though as it can be quite bus in Seville. The hotel does have parking but you have to pay. I would suggest dropping bags off first then move the car as the reception needs to give you directions. When you drive to the parking you need to look upwards as the signage is high up and it is easy to miss. The entrace is very tight so if you have a very large car you might struggle! Great location for the city, right opposite the alcazar and about 5 mins into the centre. There are a couple of cafes outside where breakfast is good and much cheaper than the hotel. There's plenty to see in Seville. A trip to the Alcazar is well worth it. Alo walk through the tabacco factory, now part of the university and go up the Giralda for a great view. If you are travelling on to Cordoba or Granada, Carmona, about 40 mins from Seville is a nice old town to stop in.

excellent location for all the tourist sites, and only a short walk to airport bus stop. trams, bus and metro stop also just around the corner. we requested a room with a view and were not dissapointed, room 401 looks across the park, alcazar palace and giralda tower. Busy road outside but with windows shut no problem at all. Air conditioned hotel and rooms were a god send after the heat (41C)outside. Room was quite large with lots of storage space, clean but decoration bit tatty. Now the down side! Breakfast-boring very little choice, same meats and cheese every day,not in chilled tray and sweaty urgh.1 x cereal, 2 x jam etc. VERY POOR. Overall a very pleasant stay ,great city and friendly locals.

We stayed in Seville for 2 nights. The hotel was easily located. The room was clean, roomy and quiet (we had requested a room not facing the street. The hotel is a short walk from the cathedral, the Alcazar and the Juderia and also close to the tranvia station. Our major complaint is the parking/baggage situation. The parking structure is a block away. We initially parked in a public parking lot, walked to the hotel and got a map and instructions to the hotel's parking. At the bottom of the ramp we were faced with 2 padded pillars(!) and a very narrow space to maneuver the car. After several minutes of backing up and pulling forward, we managed to park the car, scraping the rear fender in the process. There was no elevator to street level, so we lugged our bags up the ramp to the hotel. No ramps in the hotel and no assistance offered to/from parking. At departure, we double- parked in front of the hotel to load. This was the only negative, but a major one for us.

I was able to book a lower price through you, venere.com, than directly through the hotel. I had made a reservation with the hotel, later, apparently due to economy, I noticed your website had a lower rate. I asked the hotel to match your price. They said they were unable to do so, but allowed me to cancel my reservation with them.

Hotel personnel were friendly and moved us to a different room because of bathroom plumbing odors. Rooms were ok but the paper thin walls were a problem every night especially since the air conditioning was not working the three days we were there and had to keep the windows open adding to more noise at night. Breakfast buffet very plain and bland.

During the Feria or Semana Santa surely you don't get back the price you pay.. better to chose some hotel in another town next time and pay the taxi for driving home in the night.. Otherwise, nothing to complain... EXCEPT ONE THING! The toilet is too little. There's very little space.

My boyfriend is used to 4stars hotels: so it was happy about this choice. Althought, I THINK it would be better to stay in somewhere more Spanish with people who doesn't speak any English. The staff is VERY KIND, always there and helpfull. The room was ok, but with 2 twin beds instide of a single big one!! The location is confortable BUT in a very BIG avenue behind the park: I think it would be better to stay in front of the park, in the very city center. Anyway, it's ok, I just thought 3stars hotels were better than this. I mean, I didn't find any difference between this hotel and the cheapest ones I was used to ... Anyone: if you decide to choose this hotel, you will enjoy for sure!

Beautiful and clean hotel in a great location, but the walls were very thin. We could hear everything going on in the hallway where they could presumably hear us as well. The bathrooms were also a little small, and there was no room safe. Overall, great value.

They were very nice and let us leave our 4 suitcases there for a night before we checked in. The rooms are very nice. Location is on a busy street about 1 block from the bus station so it was very convenient for us, but not as charming a location as our other hotel. Easy to catch a cab at 5:00am the next day.

We had a nice and quiet room at the back of the hotel, but I suppose the rooms with windows on the main road are much noisier. There's no need to have breakfast at the hotel, because there's a nice bar next to it where you can have "café con leche y un croissant" for about €2. The hotel is very well located: cross the street in front of it, walk through the park for 2 minutes and you'll be right in the centre. The main square with the cathedral and the alcazar are just ten minutes away on foot. I do recommend this hotel!

From the Alcazar, it was easy walking to the bus and places we wanted to visit on all sides of the hotel. Next door was an excellent bar for breakfast. The staff was English competent and helpful. Our room was quiet because it was not overlooking the street and park on the front side and because no construction work was occuring nearby. Our room had a balcony on the back side.

The location of the hotel is perfect if you are traveling without a car (and also if you are coming from the airport by the express bus). It is a clean decent hotel and the average price we payed (55-60 Eur) was very good comparing of what we've got. The room was spacious but we didn't have a window looking to the gardens. In the end that wasn't bad because we didn't hear the traffic from the avenue in front of the hotel. Also we were all day long out in the city so it wasn't really a problem. A negative think is that we could hear loud voices or music from the rooms around. We needed a hotel close to the old city area and not far from the modern center. As we had rent a car from our 4th day (we started from Seville 3 days) and we had to pick it from the airport (better price) the short distance from the airport express bus terminal (about 250-300 meters) was perfect for us. As a conclusion I'd recommend this hotel for somebody who would like to visit Seville for 3-4 days and doesn't want to spend money to taxi from and to the airport.

Great location for seeing the sights of Sevilla. Staff extremely courteous & very helpful. Rooms clean & comfortable although a fridge/minibar would be useful and/or tea/coffee-making facility (there was a hot drinks machine on the ground floor). Refurbishment of the reception area was underway which is the only reason for slightly lower marks given for Public Areas & Services & Faciltiies Offered (presumably not a long-term problem.)

Excellent location opposite Alcazar gardens (see photo)- we walked to all of Seville attractions. We had requested a high floor with view - and were delighted. I was worried while booking about very busy street, but quiet enough at night and the location for a large hotel was fine - Hotel parking in another building (next block), but convenient and staff helped organise - probably easier than finding an 'old town' hotel with parking - and of couse did not use the car for two days of sightseeing. Staff helped book Flamenco show and gave directions. Would certainly stay here again.

The Alcazar was a really good base for visiting the old city of Seville - only a short walk across a park to the Santa Cruz area. We asked for, and got, a room with a view of the park. It was very clean and had a balcony. The only disadvantage was that it was a bit noisy as there is a main road between the hotel and the park but we felt it was worth it for the view. The location and view were excellent, right near the Bario Sta Cruz and across the street from the Jardines de Murillo. My balcony had a view of the Geralda. Breakfast was acceptable, if mediocre. Staff was very helpful with transportation, less helpful with other aspects of Sevilla life. WiFi does not work anywhere in the hotel and that was a major deficit, requiring a walk to an internet cafe.

Wonderful location, across from the Jardines Murillo, yards from the Barrio Santa Cruz. Terrible problem with those wafer-thin walls through which you can hear everything in the corridor and adjoining rooms. I was allocated a poky, dark room at the back of the hotel so I wasn't encouraged to spend much time in it. Reception not particularly friendly - business-like.

Despite its uninspiring surroundings near the bus stop the Alcazar was a pleasant surprise; the rooms were clean & spacious and we were fortunate enough to get one with views of the old city centre. The location is great, walking distance to all you need to see. Otherwise the bus stop is just 100m. and it's a stop for circular bus that goes to all main tourist spots. Service of staff excellent. The map in Venere is close to reality but on the opposite side of the street. It's ok if you walk as you just cross the road but if you drive that means trouble looking for U-turn as in my case.

The location of the hotel is perfect & within easy walking distance of most of the main tourist attractions. There are also a few good restaurants about 5 minutes away - try "Modesto" for excellent service & quality of food. We requested a room with a view and they duly obliged; we were on the 4th floor and looked directly across to the Giralda. The size of bedroom was quite spacious but the bathroom was a little small. The one drawback was the parking! Unfortunately the hotel car park is not directly adjacent to the property but quite close and although they gave us directions, it took quite a while to find, and when we did, we wished we had the smallest car manufactured as the parking spaces were very tight to say the least - still we managed to negotiate it without damage.

The only disappointment was breakfast, so after checking it out we decided not to bother. There was no tea for us tea-drinking Brits (would that have been so difficult?)and what was on offer didn't inspire us. Otherwise we were very happy with our stay, our room was small but spotless and we had a nice view of the park. Reception staff were helpful and on the day we were leaving allowed us to leave our luggage at the hotel after checking out, as our flight was several hours later. We would go back there.

I had an interior room on the ground floor looking out onto a closed courtyard. It was loud, dark, and not very private. One afternoon a champagne cork was in the middle of the floor, maybe someone threw it in through the window, but I certainly didn't put it there. The breakfast was sufficient, but uninspired. The hotel is ideally located, only a few meters away from Seville historic centre and the Alcazar gardens. The location of the hotel is perfect and was the reason why we chose it and we were not disappointed. Thanks to the web site, we knew what to expect. The rooms were a bit small and very dark (= cool in the summer which is certainly a good option) and very clean. Fortunately, our neighbours were not noisy because we could tell that the insulation was not great : you could actually hear someone having a shower next door as if it was in our own room! However, we did not hear any noise at night, it was fairly quiet. The hotel is a bit expensive for the quality it offers but we reckon accomodation in Seville is expensive. We paid half as much for a charming hotel in Cordoba!

The Hotel Alcazar is NOT a 3 *, is more like a 1*. The staff is quite abrupt and unfriendly. The cleanliness is not the best - we stayed in a double room and the en-suite was stinking! It smelled of sewage - the smell made me want to throw up every time I went in there. We stayed just one night (thank God) so we didn't say anything about it. In hindsight we should have - it was €115 a night for that! When we were checking out we asked at reception if they could phone a taxi for us because we were going to the airport. We were told to get it on to the street which wasn't a problem in ay other of the 3 hotels we stayed in Spain.

The hotel was very well located because it was five minutes walk from the bus to the airport, and ten minutes walk across a park to the Santa Cruz area, the Giralda and the Alcazar. It is a modern hotel, on a main road, but the room was double glazed and air conditioned so the traffic noise was not a problem. Walking back through the park even late at night was safe with lots of people around. We overlooked the front of the hotel with a great view. Ideal location in Sevilla for sightseers with children. Easy walk to the Cathedral, Palacios, beautiful parks, plazas, and gardens, restaurants and entertainment. Great staff took the initiative to change our room locations after learning that we had young children with us. The rooms were very comfortable and quiet except for the LOUD guests in the room next to ours - they toned it down when we asked them. The breakfast was a poor value though - basic rolls, coffee and juice. Parking is not on the property, and costs an additional 14/nt, but is close and secure. I had a hard time sleeping at this hotel. I could hear neighbors on both sides of me, in the bathroom I could hear my neighbors from upstairs through the vent and on some occasions, I could even hear people at the front desk. The location is right across the street from the part of Sevilla that you want to be in, so it is pretty close to the action but not in the action. The room is also the smallest one I had on my trip to Spain. If you plan on sleeping a lot, I would not choose this place, otherwise, the hotel was great.

The hotel is excellent. Reception staff were first class and extremely helpful. The location was perfect, a very short walk across the road to the main centre of the 'old town'. Our bedroom virtually overlooked the main gardens of the Palace of Alkazar and a perfect view of the Giralda. There are some excellent restraunts very close to the hotel, turn right outside the main reception, across the road and about 100mts. We rented two rooms for two nights. The double room faced the front of the hotel and the Alcazar gardens across the street...lovely. The room was not particularly well furnished; the bathroom was small but all marble. The single room we rented was at the back of the hotel with a very moldy smell. The room was cramped but the bathroom was similar to the other one. The hotel can be noisy with the central staircase/elevators echoing voices. The location of the hotel is perfect for visiting most of Seville's highlights. You can walk to many interesting places in town; a taxi to the center of town is 4 euro or so. Perhaps this convenient location is why this hotel's rates are what they are.

Beautiful hotel in the city center. It wasn't very far from Sanchez Pisjuan Stadium and old city. But hotel should have more holes for electric equipment.

The hotel is well located for sight seeing, but is very basic in facilities. There where lots of school parties passing through the hotel, which meant that the hotel took some time to settle down at night. Breakfast very poor, better off with room only and going to one of the local café’s to eat. Worth staying for 1 to 3 nights for sightseeing but any longer find somewhere else.

nice location in regard to desired sites to be visited and to public transpotrion. Two nights we had to contend with a noisy group of high school students. I would return to this hotel again. A good value for the money.

Very nice, clean hotel, located very close to the wonderful old area of Santa Cruz. Staff very helpfull and competent. Noise from adjacent rooms and hall can be a bit loud. Overall, good value for money.

We had no complaints about this hotel, the staff were friendly (though overworked)and their English was way better than my Spanish. The standard of cleanliness is very high. We had a room with a balcony, but most don't, so maybe better to ask for one. One minor negative point - there's no tea/coffee making facility in the room, but the cafe next door is cheap (much more so than anything over the road in the town centre)and welcoming. The best point, however, is the location, a two minute walk from Santa Cruz and a 10 minute walk to the cathedral or Plaza Espana. We would definitely stay here again, no worries.

We did not know Seville and chose the Alca'zar because it looked in a central position. It was even better than that -- right opposite the Alca'zar gardens, across from the Christopher Columbus monument, and near the fascinating Santa Cruz area. The very helpful staff gave us good advice about many things, such as what to see, how to get there, and where to eat.
