Great value hotel for this tourist city. Within walking distance of all major attractions plus, next door there is a remarkable Flamenco show most nights. (Not Tourist Flamenco). Cannot drive to hotel but hotel's web site gives directions to nearby parking station and walking from there. GPS may have trouble with Seville's tiny lanes. Hotel staff will come to the parking station to rescue you if needed. Any of the tapas bars nearby are fine eating places. Hotel is modest by star ratings but is huge on value, friendliness and location.

Rooms was lovely, spotlessly clean with view onto courtyard. My only issue was the noisy plumbing system. Everyone's bathroom seemed to empty really close to our room.(room 11) Staff were excellent, helpful and friendly and breakfast was really good value compared with buying in town. Location is ideal and I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel is very well located and central to many sights, the staff is very helpful and accommodating to questions, the flamenco show that is held next door is excellent and is very well soundproofed from the hotel. Rick Steves had booked the entire hotel for a group after we had left. There is only wifi in the lounge so if you only want to connect in your room you're out of luck. The lounge area is very pleasant though and the hookup simple. They have a coffee machine that dispenses various kinds of coffee (con leche for example) for 1 euro that operates all day/night.

The hotel is in the lovely Barrio quarters of Sevilla, with quaint winding roads, great restaurants and access to attractions such as the Alcazar, the Catedral etc. There's a fantastic flamenco and musical performance right within its premises - very convenient! Rooms are not luxurious but clean and spacious. Overall, a restful stay in a great location!

This is the sixth year I have stayed at this hotel and it provides everything I need for a happy stay in Seville. It is perfectly placed for visits to the top tourist spots and, not being adjacent to a road, is very quiet. The staff have been the same people year after year which means that they too must be happy there.

Pleasant and reasonably-priced hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic location for exploring Seville however a little tricky to find when navigating by car. The street of the hotel itself is not accessible by car and the nearest parking is about 5 minutes' walk away so bear this in mind when travelling with luggage.

The Hotel Alcantara was a bit more expensive than other places I stayed during my Spanish trip but it was a case of getting what you paid for. the room was small but very clean and comfortable, with a view of the patio. It was also very quiet - most of the time all I heard was birdsong and the cooing of pigeons, despite being near a number of bars etc. free wifi access in the lobby the staff were extremely friendly and helpful - more so than any others on my trip. they were also patient with my attempts to improve my Spanish. the flamenco shows in the building next door are also a plus (if you are into that sort of thing). location is brilliant - near fabulous tapas bars and attractions (including the Arab baths) and barrio Santa Cruz is gorgeous - very pleasant place to be. only drawback (for me) was that the price was a bit higher than other places but for Seville, it was quite reasonable. There were also places with a bit more "personality" but that is a minor point. I would definitely recommend the Hotel Alcantara highly - it's one of the most pleasant places I've stayed in my travels.

The location is perfect and the staff fantastic. They even lent me a charger for my laptop (at no charge) when mine died. The hotel is located within the historical (walking only) area. Within a few blocks (with no traffic) you can find everything that you planned to see in Savilla. The hotel booked our Flamenco Show for us and it was fantastic. Only 2 or 3 blocks away is Ave Santa Maria la Blanca, where you will find the best value for good meals. I recommend Cerveceria Mezquita for a very good breakfast at a low cost.

Nearby restaurants were terrific. Pedestrian (but historically central) area, impossible to access by car - necessary to park in garage and roll luggage to hotel (about 2 to 3 blocks away). Would have liked a hair dryer. Staff was superb - mapped several different routes for us upon departure, changed currency, always welcoming. I wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Alcantara! The location's excellent...easy walking distance to the Cathedral and Alcazar, around the corner from the Arab baths, and near many great tapas bars. My room was very clean, on the small side but comfortable and pleasantly decorated, with air-con and an ensuite bath (shower/sink/toilet). The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. There's a flamenco venue directly adjacent to the hotel lobby where you can catch an inexpensive show most nights of the week. The only "downside" was that I could hear a certain amount of the noise from the show from my room. But, this was not at all an issue as far as sleeping was concerned, as the shows were over by 11pm. I would definitely stay at Alcantara again!

Alcantara is in an ideal location in Seville-just 5 minutes from the Cathedral. Staff were very helpful indeed and very friendly. Rooms were clean and a reasonable size and lovely and quiet for the centre of a big city. Of course the location of Hotel Alcantara is excellent set amidst the narrow alleyways of old Seville and being only a short walk from the cathedral. It also has the advantage of a flamenco show next door which they do not seek to promote (due to some disagreement between the owners!) but which is excellent value for the uninitiated at only 14 euros. The Hotel staff were always wiling to offer advice and could not have done more to facilitate my stay of 4 days. The rooms were a little on the small side and the facilities somewhat limited (other than the wireless internet) but what do you expect for only 55 euros per night. This place is truly a bargain

Don't even think about finding it on foot, a cab is mandatory. Don't even think about departing from it on foot - a cab is mandatory. It's on a tiny, unmarked street (at least for North American standards) in old Seville. I got a small map from reception when I first looked to venture back out after checking in, took two turns, and was lost for an hour. If you pre-arrange a cab to pick you up in the morning to get to the airport, expect a Mercedes with no meter, a driver with a cheeky smile, and total oblivion when you complain about an off the top of his head invented fare of $30E for a 15 minute cab ride to the airport. The staff have an arrangement with whomever, and you'll be paying for it....but at 6:30 a.m. do you have a choice...remember this hotels address is 100 Nowhere, Seville ! Oh, and to use the internet you have to rent a laptop and sit in their lobby...:-)

A good hotel for a two stars, with large rooms and well located. Breakfast with good relationship price/quality. Easy to go to Cathedral and Giralda and bus station. The only problem we had was in the airport, with taxi driver. He said that the streets Ximenes Enciso and Fabiola were "cortada" and stoped a little far, in another street, and we had to walk. After, we saw other taxis in Fabiola street, close to hotel. Maybe, as the price is the same, about 22 euros, he decided not spend more time driving until Fabiola street.

close to perfect, great location, very, very helpful and friendly staff with great advice...only one thing i would change- more comfortable beds and nicer sheets and could have been decorated a little cozier- is a bit austere- i understand clean and sharp but needs a bit more character

This is a friendly hotel in an excellent position in the heart of the old Jewish quarter. The staff were helpful and spoke good English. The only negative side is the closeness of a Flamenco evening which kept us awake both nights. Ask for a room on the far side of the central courtyard.

This was the best hotel we stayed in during our two week trip to Europe! Our room was a good size, bathroom was very nice, and the location was excellent! You will definitely need a good map to get to the hotel, but it was in a great location, very central to all. The hotel itself was wonderful and we enjoyed our stay very much. The rooms and bathrooms were immaculate, and we had a great view of a Spanish courtyard. Only good things to say from us!

This perfectly located hotel and it's lovely staff provided a beautifully clean, comfortable and quiet room, and also served a simple but good breakfast. We enjoyed our stay in this hotel and although it is low on charm with absolutely no views, it is very reasonably priced and must surely be one of the best value hotels you could choose.

the location is excellent, employees were very eager to help us, rooms are kind of bare, but clean, they were spacious, we had no complaints, would stay here again, an excellent value for the money

We were quite happy with the hotel, good size room and bed with desk and big bathroom. The window looked out onto the quiet central courtyard. Location was great, on a small little walking alley very close to the Real Alcazar, and the Giralda/Cathedral. Elevator and good air conditioning

This is quite a new hotel. It is not very big but with a touch of personality. At first, it is quite difficult to find but once you find it, everything is just within minutes of walking distance e.g. bus terminal, sighting seeing spots and restaurants. Air-conditioning is quiet and not too cold, just feel comfortable. Room is very clean and staff is helpful. The only thing is that breakfast is not included. However, we enjoyed our stay very much in this hotel particularly it's location which enable us to take a break away from the midday hot sun and went out again in late afternoon.

We didn´t expect too much of a two-star hotel, but it surpassed our expectations. Of course you wouldn´t reach it by car, because the street is too narrow. It was clean, our room was absolutely quiet, the people behind the desk were helpful and the most important sights were at a walking distance. Plenty of restaurants and bars within reach. We can warmly recommend the hotel.

This hotel was centrally located and, contrary to other reviews we read, was very easy to find. We got a map from the tourist information desk at the train station and had absolutely no trouble following it to the hotel. The heart of the historic city is a block away. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable for two. No hair dryer, but in the summer heat that hardly mattered. Showers worked well. Staff was helpful and friendly. Although the room didn't have a safe, small lock boxes were available 24 hours at the desk without any hassle. We would recommend this hotel.

The hotel was very good for the price. Very clean and ideally located in the Barrio Santa Cruz district. Unfortuntely, on arrival we were given a twin room rather than the double room that we had booked (and as stated on the confirmation e-mail). When we approached the man on reception he patronizingly explained to us that a double room meant that two beds were present in one room. Apparently a twin room is the same. In order to get a double bed we needed to ask for the matrimonial suite (I don't re-call this being an option when we booked) which would cost more money. We have had the same problem with online bookings in other hotels in Europe but have always been allocated a double room after pointing out the mistake. Unfortunately on this occasion it was late at night, we had been travelling most of the day and were not in the mood for a confrontation with someone who thought that we were in the wrong! Otherwise the hotel is perfect if you just want a simple but clean place to stay!!

A map might have been useful. The instructions to locate the hotel were not accurate. That was compounded by the Corpus Christi festival and parade the day we arrived.

A friendly, welcoming hotel, with very good modern facilities for a two-star, without the charmless impersonality of chain hotels in this class. Great location in the historic quarter of Seville, consistently helpful staff. Thoroughly recommended.

The rooms are bright and roomy and overlook a lovely courtyard. The location could not have been better. It is easy walking distance to the Cathedral and Alcazar and any number of very good eating places. The staff were exceptionally helpful even when we unable to arrive on the day we were scheduled - they re-rented the room so we were not liable for that night eventhough we realised we could have been. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Good location in barrio Santa Cruz. Walking distance to main places of interest. Downside is that all the local bars & restaurents are at best poor value for money at worst tourist traps. Breakfast at Alcantara was reaonably good value for money.

This hotel was below the standards of others we found through venere.com. The location is good, but the rooms are tiny, the bathrooms inadequate, and the heating/cooling system downright erratic.
