The area was excellent for the Santa Cruz area of Seville. The deskclerk was friendly and knowledgeable. The room itself was not unattractive and quaint, , but smelled a bit moldy when we arrived. My greatest objection was the lighting, which was of very poor quality, and made staying in the room for any period of time a bit depressing. Reading was difficult. In addition it was a bit cold when we were there, as it was raining off and on, and the room felt chilly. The maps provided were inadequate, and it made orienting a bit difficult. I think it would be most adequate for young travellers, who are willing to trade comfort for relatively low price. We did not eat in the hotel, as we oreferred tapas to whole meals, so I can not reveiw the meals. Breakfasts were fine. The bathroom is clean and pretty- and the most pleasant part of the space. The shower is so narrow, that it made using it a bit tricky- always banging into knobs etc.

Pleasant hotel in great location, very central in the Santa Cruz area. Guests be advised to look up location prior to arrival and VERY difficult to find as the Santa Cruz area is mostly pedestrian and Calle Gloria is a tiny little pedestrian laneway. Staff friendly and helpful but brush up on your Spanish. Room spacious and interesting, but bed not very comfortable and air conditioning noisy. Bathrooms need more thorough cleaning. A good stay for the price and recommend it for the budget conscious. You can't really go wrong. Just don't eat at the Hosteria as it is very expensive and you can eat better for less elsewhere. Also, breakfast is just very ordinary continental style and nothing exciting.

~We stayed for 5 nights at beginning of February. Days hot but nights drop to minus 3 or 4 degrees. This is just the best area to be. Right in the centre of the historic area and loads of restaurants and Tapas bars and access to all the major sights a few minutes walk away. Plus easy access from the Airport bus drop off point. Staff brilliant. Room very basic and very cold in February. No heating and needed extra blanket! Also room very dark with no outside window so not a place we wanted to spend much time except for sleeping. However for the price paid we have no complaints and would stay there again.

I was travelling with a friend. We stayed for three nights. Our room was very simple but clean. The location of the hotel couldn´t be better. It was walking distance (close) to everything. There is a restaurant at the hotel, but we didn´t try it. The breakfast was ok.

Fairly tired room, though very clean seemed a little un-cared for. The location is right in the very middle of the old town though, so I imagine comparable places to stay would be smaller/more expensive/both. A fair choice if location is your over-riding criteria, maybe not if you want somewhere a bit more homely/with character.

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. Actually at first I was offered a room with a small window to a restaurant inside the hotel and it was rather noisy, but then they gave me a very nice and spacious room with a small balcony. The staff are really very nice, helpful and polite. The surroundings are absolutely perfect.

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel. It is difficult to assess value for this city hotel. It was adequare. No frills, but you can´t beat the location. The room came with continental breakfast which was coffee, juice and warmed, dry bread. You would do better to eat elsewhere.

The hotel is also a restaurant on the bottom floor. The sound of the kitchen travels right into your room. There was also no TV in the room. It's nice when you're having a little siesta to prepare for dinner to have a TV to unwind.

Stayed 3 days. Staff always polite and helpful when approached. Clean linen and rooms. AC was a bonus. Close to transport and attractions. Easily located. However, night staff could be quieter: 1. when talking in the evening after 22hr00 2. move furniture around in the dining area quietly after 22hr00, if working late or complete moving it earlier, that is before 22hr00. This would make the stay very pleasant.

This hotel was in a perfect location, quiet and within easy walking distance from all of the sights we wanted to visit. The hotel staff were helpful and gracious. The room was kept clean and the air conditioning worked well. It was spacious enough for us to sleep and have access to our luggage and clothes but a little tight on walking around space. Very quiet and peaceful location in the heart of the old jewish quarters.

While this hotel is in a wonderful location in the Santa Cruz barrio, we thought the staff was totally inattentive and more focused on running their restaurant than assisting their hotel guests. The first night of our stay, I had to kill a cockroach in the bathroom. Not a good start! The staff was so disconnected from their guests that they didn't even recognize we WERE their guests when we'd come in from site seeing to change or relax. It's a good place to stay as long as you don't mind cockroaches and don't plan on spending very much time in your room.

FAR less expensive than I would have expected for a hotel with this location. Rooms not very big and not very modern, but perfectly OK for sleeping in. Food nothing to write home about, but OK, and anyway there are many other places where you can eat nearby. The first time you go there, take a printout of their map showing you exactly where the hotel is. Like with everywhere else in that part of town (a warren of tiny alleys and squares), taxis can't get closer than about 50 to 100 yards away, which may be a problem for some people, but inside there's a lift.

Stayed in the Hosteria de Dona Lina first week in Sept. This is a very basic no frills accommodation .No Tv minibars room service etc.etc..What you will get is spotless clean rooms, if a little small, decient shower/toilet again small but serviceable. Good AC .(Essential in July/Aug/Sept) But the big plus from this property is location..location…location. It is right in the heart of the wonderfully atmospheric Barrio Santa Cruz. The Cathedral de Seville and the Grilida Tower is literally two streets away. Great tapas bars and restaurants down every little side street. Little hard to find at first…Because of the size of the streets there is no vehicle access.Just find Calle Mateos Gago at front of Cathedral and your almost there!!. The front desk staff are not the most helpful in the world but are Ok if in the mood!! No problems with this accommodation and for the price would certainly stay again

---- The biggest problem with the establishment is finding it as it is in the middle of a maze of buildings but once you do that it's smooth sailing. Rooms are clean and functional, though it really is time to change the mattresses. The staff, though quite friendly and helpful, do not speak any english. Sound isolation is practicaly non-existant. Location is excellent though and the price was very low so it was well worth it.

a lovely low key hotel, right in the centre of Seville. A bit tricky to find at first but once you know your orientation all major sights are within easy walking distance. The decor is lovely and the rooms and public areas incredibly clean! It was a bit noisy at night, but as we were out all day we were so tired we slept no problem! For the afternoon siesta instead it was very quite as the restaurant is closed from 3pm till 6pm (ish). Would definitely stay here again, and having air con when outside temperatures reached 40degrees was a saviour!

Location, location, location! Staying at Doña Lina is all about location, it's absolutely perfect! You can literally walk to all the sights in 2 minutes (the Cathedral, Real Alcazar, the square etc.) and it's located right in the middle of the Barrio Santa Cruz, meaning you can eat tapas to your heart's content. And sure, the shower could be bigger, but the room's clean, quiet and big enough to have a little siesta in between discovering the city. We'll definitely be back!

Very good location in old town. The room did not have windows to outside, but into covered courtyard.(Not recommended for someone who is claustrofobic!)Front office staff are also the waiters at the restaurant and are not very friendly or helpful. The rooms are upstairs from the restaurant and not soundproof at all. At night you can very clearly hear kitchen and restaurant until it closes. The shower must be the smallest one I have ever seen. Seeing that this was the cheapest we could get in centre, I guess you get what you pay for. At least it was clean.

Just a delightful room and overlooking a similar delightful square. Get a map at the train station tourist office and then take C bus into town from the airport. You can now take a trainlink that carries you close to the historical centre and the walk to the hotel is 5 mins, once you know the way. It is also very close to the tourist office, incase you didn't arrive via train. Just keep asking asking people but the map really does help. The restaurant does get loud after closing as the workers clean up. But the singing was really quite fun. The food at the restaurant was good but there are so many more exciting choices to make just beyond the next bend in the street. The hotel is in the restaurant so the staff are already quite busy to deal with hotel guest needs.

There is more to a book than its cover. While the location is excellent, the decor is nice and clean, this place has some issues to deal with. The major issue is noise. The design of the building lends well to internal and external noise travelling straight to your room. Above the restaurant is a patio that extends to the roof, this area is surrounded by the rooms. You hear everything!! Then there are the beds. The mattresses are 20 years beyond their best by date. I’m not exaggerating when I say that the mattress springs would creak when you so much as sneezed. Rolling over would wake me up. To top off this experience the staff at Dona Lina are the most miserable I’ve seen. I have travelled extensively through Europe, Asia and Australia and never have I seen staff with such low morale. The only bubbly person was the female room attendant.

But,for its excellent rate, convenient location and the welcoming atmosphere,we definitely recommend this cozy and clean hotel. From the train station to the hotel take Bus C1 destination to Prado del Sebastian, get off before Puerta de Jerez at Jardin Murillo, walk across the park and along the wall of Alcazar Garden, turn left onto Lope de Rueda, going up a few steps toward Santa Cruz then first left onto Calle Aqua, 2nd/3rd right to Pimienta and turn left onto Gloria.

we were visiting my daughter in Sevilla so didn't spend much time at all in the hotel, except to sleep and shower! The location was great for visiting just about everywhere, so I would consider going there again just for that reason. The one thing I would have liked is a chair to sit and relax in after a long day's hoofing round the city- you don't always want to crash out on the bed, as there's a good chance at my age that you'll fall asleep and miss the next bit of fun!

A quaint hostal located in the barrio. We arrived in Seville by train and took a taxi. It would be difficult to find the hostal without a taxi driver's local knowledge. Anyway the position in the city is really great, the prices are fair, the staff is friendly. the room and the bathroom were really big and clean. then, the hotel is very concerned with environmental problems: it has double glasses, solar-energy and central turn-off of the lights. I appreciate this. Seville is great, wonderful food and wine, good restaurants, beautiful architecture. visit the alcazar and try lots od tapas.

like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Once found it is an absolute gem of a location. A bit noisy at night. ate lunch in the restaurant and wouldn't recommend doing so.

We stayed 3 nights at Dona Lina. It was hard to find at first, but everthing in El Barrio De Santa Cruz is hard to find. The location was great. The staff was great. The accomodations were much bigger than I expected. Free WiFi was a major plus for me. The matresses were not so comfortable, but a great room for a great price in an amazing location.

The staff and the services were great but for the price I paid for the room I expected a bit better room than what I got, especially when I found out that the actual prices of the rooms for the period I was staying there, were a lot less than what I paid. Otherwise the staff were fantastic. Kind regards, Harmik Mansourian.

You can take the Bus C1 (10 mins) from the Train Station and then walk another 10mins to reach the hotel. You can confirm the route/stop from the Tourist Information located within the Train Station. The entrance of the Hotel is via the Resturant that it also runs. I was given a 1st floor Single room with the Window opening to the Resturant; so privancy and noise could be a concern to some. Located in the historic center, this is very convenient for site-seeing. Rooms (air-con) and Toilet were in good/new condition, clean and spacious.

A small and pretty hotel, in a suggestive position. Difficult to find, a little bit far from main roads and not accessible by car, bus or taxi: not indicated for people with big luggage and older people. Darkness and humidity in the room.

The place is a bit difficult to reach by foot leading bags by the hand owing to the rough pavement and the taxi stop out this site. We stayied one night only and had supper in the little square below the hotel "al fresco" under the trees. Near our table held friendly talk a english man and a famiily caming from New Zeland.

Our stay was great due to the closeness of all the main attractions. Plus all the eateries nearby with Tapas galore. Just a good two days enjoyed.

Clean but very basic. Best quality is its location: in the Barrio near everything

I would say this is a very clean, basic, well located hotel, with great bars and restaurants on your doorstep situated in a lovely square near most of the main attractions in Seville. On the down side there was alot of noise outside on the street from early in the morning - deliveries and church bells and I was staying with my girl friend and they gave us a room with two single beds, when I queried this down stairs they said that I didn't specify that I wanted a double bed - now I've stayed in hotels all over the world and a double bed is the standard, not the exception. However I would go back cause it was great value - just specify what sleeping arrangements you want

Accoglienza ottima, personale molto gentile.

The L shape of the room did not allow double bed, not even actual twin beds. Quiet room overlooking a pedestrian street. Staff competent and courteous.

If you book a single room I think they tend to give you the smallest room with no windows directly above their interior restaurant. So its not worth the price at all. The area is very touristic. Next time I would stay in an other district and go there only to visit ...

Very well located place. It is really in the centre of Santa Cruz neighborhood. Close to all main attractions such as Cathedral and Real Alcazar. Lots of Tapas places near by. Room was ok and had a nice shower.

The hotel is directly above a restaurant. The room smells like fish all the time (probably directly above the kitchen). It was very loud, because you could catch almost every word of the staff chatting. Room was very clean but with bad matresses. The location of the hotel is excellent.

Very clean and very quiet, at least it was in February. Beautiful Seville tiles everywhere. The rooms are to a high standard, but quaint, the result of 9 rooms being squeezed into the narrow frontage. Only 2 rooms face the outside alleyway, the rest onto internal courtyard, so no views. More B&B than Hilton. NB: The thin plastic card on your room key activates the lights! Restaurent has excellent food but wine is a ripoff. You can dine and breakfast well and more cheaply out of the Santa Cruz area.

Pros: Perfect location, 50m from the Cathedral. Daily cleaning of the room. Spacious bathroom. Cheap. Cons: (1) We (a couple) had a double room with separated beds and no way to have a room with a double bed (it was full). This is not specified on Venere website (if I'm not wrong), you should differentiate. (2) the bedroom was narrow and dark. (3) A bit noisy due to the restaurant at ground floor. (4) no window in the bathroom.
