Gran Hotel Lar - Seville

Room smelt and there was no fresh air. Air conditioning worked very bed, in the room was very hot and we couldn't sleep. if we opened the window it was even worse. In the morning there was a lot of noise so we left the hotel at 9 in the morning and came back as late as possible. We put on the door warning not to disturb us but they didn't care, cleaner anyway came inside. The only good thing of this hotel is location - it is really near the center.

A five night stay in Sevilla at Hotel Lar ... and next time I won't make the same mistake, even if it will cost 150 euros more to get a "real" 3 or 4 star hotel!... Lot of noise until 1 A.M. and a guaranteed wake up call by your neighbor shower or worse at 6 or 6.30 A.M. ! Compare to French standard , Lar is a "low-level" 3 star hotel and nothing more. No charm there ! Out of ... "age" ... including breakfast room seats ! Except the 2 young ladies at desk, staff is quite boring you. Internet isn't free !!?? ( 2011 in a "4"star ?) and you have to pay 1 euro each 15 mn to use their 2 computers. For the safety box It's 1,90 € / day ...!? and you have to give 10 euros deposit !... ( To replace the key ??!) Location is not too bad ... a 15/ 20 minute walk from Bus station (Prado)/ Plaza de Espagna or from the real historic center, and 10 mn from Renfe (railways) . More or less 15 / 20mn from airport by taxi. Anyway, Sevilla is fantastic... and LAR needs a full check-up !

Old building, old sanitary endineering, very bad internet connection in the room despite to high charge for it. No refrigerator in the room. No view. I would not stay in this hotel once again.

They helped us solve a problem about our room. When we address the problem, they immidiatly changed our room. They were king and helpful during our stay. We asked them to keep our baggages for one more day and they did it without charging us. Overall it's close to train station and easy access to city center by walking. The hotel looks old, but price/quality ratio is as expected.

Once we arrived at the hotel, it was an unkind surprise that they did not have any available parking space in the hotel's parking garage. We did not expect it. Mainly after knowing that no reservation in advance was required(we called them some days before the arrival to check it). Taking into account that we arrived during "Semana Santa" (probably the biggest event in the city/region after "la Feria de abril"), when cars and "procesiones" take completely over the city, it was not the best welcoming news at all. Futhermore, the room was very big and comfortable and the hotel is very well located (close to the city center)

We stayed in a double room for 2 nights ... the air conditioning hardly worked at night and almost stopped working altogether during the day... we complained to the reception after the first night but there was no improvement whatsoever ... the air conditioning controls were broken and the plastic casing on top would come off ... other than this issue ... the hotel was decently clean, within 15 mins walk to the major monuments .... and room relatively spacious ... but the building itself doesn't have any local charm whatsoever ...

El hotel es muy lindo y el aire acondicionado anduvo muy bien. Las habitaciones son grandes al igual que los baños. Está bien ubicado, ya que se encuentra a 10 minutos de la estacion de tren y a 5 de la giralda (centro historico). Las habitaciones son muy limpias y el personal es muy atento. El unico defecto es que cobran muy caro internet y no esta incluido el desayuno.

I really wished I'd stayed at another hotel. The air conditioning did not work very well and in the middle of summer in Sevilla, that is like stepping into an oven. It was always hot and stuffy in my room. The rooms appeared far nicer on the web than in person. I don't think that they should be considered four stars at all. Also, the hotel restaurant's food was mediocre at best and the prices were ridiculous! The hotel was conveniently located to lots of restaurants and just off the main drag. It was within walking distance to a lot of sights, internet cafes, laundry mats and shopping. Great location, not so great hotel.

Nice hotel, spacious and clean room and large bathroom; a bit old furnitures.
