EME Catedral Hotel - Seville

The furniture of the Deluxe room was very basic, only one night table for a double bed, no cupboard, no chairs and table. The room was very small. At this price level a bigger room with more facilities could have been expected. The cleanliness of the bathroom can be improved, the shower was leaking and water from the room above was dropping through the ceiling lamp into the shower. The sealing and the corners around the shower were moldy. The cocktails at the roof top bar were sometimes not adequate to a so-called five star hotel (too much sugar). The bathrobes, bathshoes and PC in the room which all were promised on the website were missing. The closure of the washbasin was not functional.

The best place in the center of the city

Overall experience was good, the biggest negative was when we checked in (Dec. 24, Christmas Eve) at around 5pm, while the receptionist was helping us, some manager(not sure) jumped in and offer us the Christmas Eve Dinner for a discount from E200 to E150. It was some multi-course menu that did not have an Englisth translation. I told him that we (family of 4) will think about it as it was expensive for Spain and not knowing what you are getting. Then this manager gave some story about everything will be closed and only limited restaurants will be open. Without saying it, he was hoping we will sign up for four, 600 euros (about US$850!), on the spot. I declined once again. It turned out plenty of restaurants were open which we anticipated and they were near by too. I found that very dishonest; I did not ask for any other advice from this hotel for the rest of my Seville stay. In short, except for the experience with this one person, the hotel is lovely, most of the other staff appears pleasant.

Great location, helpful and friendly staff and fantastic breakfast.All the important sites are within walking distance. Stongly recommend the B&B formula.We had reserved and stayed in a Fusion room with a view, but it did not match the picture and description provided on the website.The hotel is new and modern, but if cleanliness and maintenance are not improved, the property will very likely deteriorate quickly.Our stay was in late October and therefore A/C was not really needed.However, I am not sure that A/C would be very effective in the summer .Finally lighting in our room was poor, making reading somewhat akward.

Great location. The room was small but it was a fair price for the location of the hotel. The room was clean and the bedding was good quality. Overall it was a great place to stay.

This hotel is great. The design is very good; and the location is fantastic (in front of the Cathedral and “la Giralda”. The first price for the room is worth : 120 euros (sure this was a very good offer). The hotel is new (march 2008). If I was selfish, I would keep this information only for me; just to make sure that this hotel is not invaded by tourists in the future. Do not hesitate : GO THERE. Very good staff and very good restaurants inside the hotel (Be careful : close to the hotel at your right when you leave the hotel there is a bar call “Bar Gonzalo”, never go there : the food is disgusting!!!)

Excellent hotel, very well situated, BUT total absence of soundproofing between the rooms !

Very poor quality- rooms extremely small- room had a bad odor however the employees were nice and courteous.
