The Nisanyan Hotel is situated in the picturesque village of Sirince, in the hills above Ephesus. This Ephesus hotel Turkey is only a short drive from the archaeological remains of Ephesus as well as the Aegean coast's stunning beaches. Izmir International Airport is a 50 minutes' drive away as well.
With commanding views over the village and the valley below, the Nisanyan Hotel is situated in the upper part of the village. As well as enjoying stunning views, guests will be able to get a real taste of Turkey's rich cultural heritage. Antiques decorate the lounge area and good books fill the shelves of the hotel's library. The English-speaking staff are also always on hand with handy sight-seeing tips and lead tours upon request.
When you return to the hotel after a day's exploring, guests can relax in the outdoor swimming pool or with a home-made meal in the restaurant and a drink in the café. In the lounge room, there is a piano and a wide collection of CDs, featuring Bach, Haydn, and some Turkish music. If you need to contact the outside world, then there is also an Internet point too.

Without a doubt a stunning 'hotel' and environment- more an experience than a hotel. However, when we arrived we were informed that we had only booked for 2 people not 6 and that they were full- an experience shared with another couple the following day, except they did find space for us unlike the more unfortunate Canadians who went elsewhere. It would suggest they have problems regularly with their booking system. Our problem did not end there however as on check out they wanted to charge £140 more despite me checking at the time of arrival that the price for our stay would be the same despite our apparent upgrade (apparently our 4 children had been allocated a quadroom in Sirince that was a 10 min drive away- something that we were certainly not aware of from the venere booking site). It took half an hour to sort out and this only occured when I asked to speak to the owner of the hotel. This was the most luxurious place we stayed in Turkey and it was the only place where they argued about an agreed pre-booked price. Fortunately I had the booking with me so on both accounts I had evidence to back my case.This said we would return there but I would book directly with Nisanyan.

First impression of the beautiful location was spoiled by the cold and unfriendly hotel reception staff, who also were determined to over-charge us. The Turkish pension staff were fantastic, and made every effort to sort out these initial problems. It was much better to stay in the pension in the village than up at the hotel on the hill. Very expensive compared to other options.

Directions on how to find the hotel were OK but there could be a sign just before you enter the village pointing to the dirt road on the right which leads up to the hotel.

How to reach Nisanyan Hotel
By airplane
From Izmir International Airport: the long way is to take an airport shuttle to Izmir Bus Terminal, then take a bus to Selçuk, and then a minibus to Sirince. Alternatively, it is more direct to take a taxi from the airport to the highway. The taxi driver will drop you off where you can wait for the bus that goes to Selçuk. Once you reach Selçuk, there is a minibus up the hill to the village, where the hotel will collect you. However, the easiest and most convenient way is to ask the hotel to arrange a transfer for you prior to arrival.

The restaurant serves delicious dishes, reminiscent of hearty French countryside fare, which are prepared with freshly grown vegetables from the kitchen garden.
Each meal is accompanied by a vintage bottle of locally grown Turkish wine, a real discovery for wine lovers.
