Grand Hotel La Torre - Sauze d'Oulx

I asked especially for a room on the top floor hoping for it to be quieter. Sadly they put a group of teenagers in the room next door, who arrived drunk and loud late every night, making a lot of noise. It's a shame because I'd only returned to the hotel after staying there the previous week because I'd preferred it. La Torre and Grand Hotel Besson were similarly priced and I chose La Torre based on the previous stay, but I wonder whether I should have gone for the Besson instead. It was good for the previous week's group trip, not so good if staying there as a couple. One thing I will say though, is that the staff are very helpful, especially the nice lady on reception who wears glasses. We left her an easter egg as a thank you :)

There were 2 main problems: 1. The breakfast was very strange. There was a very large selection available but half of it was cakes which seemed inappropriate for breakfast. 2. The rooms were very cold. It took 2 or 3 days for them to warm up after we arrived. Also the location of the hotel isn't very convenient if you are skiing, as there is a bit of a walk from the lifts (but they do provide a free minibus to take you there)!

This is our fourth visit to La Torre, having stayed once in the resort at another hotel (never again!), we will continue to visit La Torre as long as we continue to visit Sauze. The hotel is excellently situated in the resort of Sauze D'Oulx. Previously we stayed half board, this time we stayed bed and breakfast, perfect! Breakfast is amazing, what you can't eat or find at breakfast is not worth worrying about. The evening meal although perfectly adequate and of good choice, is expensive and we enjoyed the delights of the local restaurants and found excellent value for money and variety, particularly the pasta house.... lovely staff, lovely pasta. We encountered a few technical problems with our car this visit and on many occasions this visit called upon the recepetion and management staff of the hotel...particularly Marco the hotel manager, they were efficient, polite and couldn't do enough to help us. We are intermediate skiers and find this resort offers us as a family a varied selection of easy, medium and hard slopes... well maintained and a pleasure to ski. I would without hesitation recommend La Torre and hope that you enjoy your stay as much as we did...four times and again next yeaar (all being well).

A lovely hotel, a classic building tastefully renovated, clean rooms, helpful staff and an excellent breakfast especiaaly for Italian standards. Sauze d'Oulx as a mountain location at 1.500mtr is nice and cool in the summer and you can take the chair lift to get even higher. Lot's of restaurants and the town has a lovely Italian family atmosphere in the evening.

An excellent hotel. The food and service was extremely good, and the rooms comfortable. I would certainly recommend La torre for anyone staying in Sauze D'Oulx.

We stayed at the La Torre for 3 nights while on a skiing break. While the hotel is in a good location and clean, I felt they could make more of an effort in the rooms. It's a 4 star hotel but ther was no kettle, no information and a very poor hairdryer. We went to Bergamo on leaving and stayed at another 4 star hotel and there was a big difference.
