Lovely hotel, great location and the staff were very friendly and helpful even though we turned up in a very scruffy condition after having camped. We couldn't get into the Michelin starred restaurant and didn't have breakfast as it was £12 each, there's a lovely patisserie up the road for that.

1. no hot water in the shower in the morning was a big no-no for us 2. no meals to be had in the area for dinner, except for the hotel itself (which was very expensive), to get dinner would have meant going out by car to the next town

Well above average 3 star hotel whose staff were most welcoming and saw to all our needs. A first class(but pricey) restaurant is attached -worth a try-but the hotel is very well positioned for many of the local eateries. And what a staircase! We would recommend the hotel to others and return to it ourselves.

Staff are excellent. Choose a room with a view of the Chateau if you do not want the road noise. If you are OK with the road then the view of the river is great and the rooms are well shaded. The car park is secure and convenient.
