For its price, the value was outstanding. Great location, breakfast included and reasonably spacious rooms.

The walls are too thin so it gets very noisy at all hours, and the curtains are not well adapted to the windows so it is very light - NOT GOOD for those who have trouble sleeping. The doors all have a window above them, with no curtain letting more light in. Breakfast is just about acceptable. The Hotel and it's street are not shown on any local maps as most have the index printed right over the location, and locals do not know it - although it is VERY close to the tram stop or the old town. Ask the Hotel to send you it's own leaflet as that does at least show a map in better detail. NOT a Western Standard 4-Star Hotel but location (once you find it) and price make it acceptable for those with limited time and wanting to be right in the heart of Sarajevo.

Up side is that the Hotel is extremely close (2 minutes) to Sarajevo Old Town - slightly up hill from the tram stop at the drinking fountain. Down sides are that you will not find the street on many maps. Signposts are worse than useless. Locals do not know the Hotel, or the Street it is in (we were sent the wrong way twice when we asked, while 3 other folk had no idea). Buy a good quality map, or go straight to the Tourist Office by the Museum at the Latin Bridge - the street at least appears on that map! Also the open interior and lack of carpeting / glazing means it is very noisy (internally footsteps, conversations & telephones can all be heard, externally - you will know when it is prayor time !) And the curtains are not well matched to the windows / the interior doors have uncurtained windows. Oh, and the Breakfast is pretty poor. Go for the location, not the luxury - 4 Stars in Bosnia is 2 Stars in the West !

First night I stayed in a big room, but it was very noisy - it was just above the main enterance - so I was not able to sleep at all that night. However, day after I asked for a new room and alway kind and welcoming staff provided a new room wich was big, peacefull and very clean! If there is 1 thing I could complain about, than it was not very strong water preassure in the bathroom and not very good breakfast selection, but that was just a minor thing. I had an amazing stay and was very happy with people working there.

I Stayed at the Hayat for 2 nights. Pretty good location (5 minutes up a steep hill from the old town). The room was quiet, modern, and clean, with a decent shower in the en suite. Staff were helpful. Paid £37 a night for a double room and I can't grumble really. There's not much character to the place, but I can't really fault it either. I'd consider staying there again at the price I paid.
