Hotel Area Central - Santiago de Compostela

Location away from historic city center, but price made it worth the inconvenience. Difficult to find as the lobby is almost non-existent in a large shopping mall. Parking garage was so dark and dingy that it was scary. But rooms themselves were very nice and clean. Breakfast was lovely! Staff was helpful, once we found them.

A convenient regular bus service available to the old town from directly outside the hotel. It is a 25-30 minute walk to the cathedral. Could not get a useful WIFI signal in the room so I had to use the internet in the hall.

The hotel is difficult to find from the main highway - it is not signposted. I suggest you google earth the site and take the Lugo Avenue exit (which is signposted), rather than the Roma Avenue exit. The hotel is located over a shopping centre and the hotel car park is difficult to find and impossible to access until after you book in. That requires you to park in the shopping centre carpark and find your way through the maze of shops to the hotel. However, it is an easy 20 minute walk to the old city. and at night - walk up the steps to the park across the road from the hotel for glorious night pictures of the cathedral of Santiago.

The hotel is located within a new shopping center, so you have easy access to most things that you might need. This made it a difficult to find. The hotel uses good quality materials like marble, but its decoration is extremely dry and functional. It is walking distance to the historical part of town but it is a long (at least 30 min) walk. Luckily there is an efficient, frequent, and inexpensive bus that takes you very close to the historical parts. The room was extremely noisy, you could hear the elevator through the night and the cleaning staff.

This was an unusual hotel, situated in a shopping mall, all the more interesting for that! Reception only located on the ground floor, rest of hotel on upper floors. No public rooms except for breakfast room. Room was very good, clean, reasonably equipped, and spacious. Would have welcomed coffee facilities in the room. all staff were courteous, friendly and helpful. Advert details said about 15-20 minutes walk from Old Town - spot on! Walk is pleasant. Did not use breakfast room, but plenty of places in the mall for a decent breakfast, coffee etc. Would recommend this hotel and would stay there again on another visit. It's good value for money.

Nice, hard-working, English-speaking people running this place & living in the building. Rooms are clean but nothing special. Decent-sized bathroom. Nice, spacious lobby but people talking there late at night so a bit noisy. In-between stations, not esp close to tourist attractions but central enough. I went for a long weekend with my girlfriend at the end of Feburary. Fantastic rate and well positioned within the Area Central shopping centre. I would recommend this place for couples who like a bit of luxury. The bathroom was lovely with a spa bath. The number 11 bus went to town very frequently from just outside the entrance and it was very cheap indeed. The walk to town was about 20 minutes. The large supermarket just under the hotel was brilliant for wine and local foods. I thoroughly recommend the hotel for its cleanliness, friendliness and value for money. Only downside was the view from the hotel room... However I would definitely return there if i was back in Santiago de Compostela

An excellent hotel for the price and location. Not a tourist hotel specifcally but never the less perfect for somewhere to stay in Santiago with excellent staff and easy access to almost anywhere. We have stayed there three times now and found the level of service to be of the same high standard each time.

The hotel is descibed as being a few metres from the old town and train station and it is not. It is also wrongly located on the map shown. The actual location of the hotel isn't even on the map. It is about a mile from the old town up a slight incline but as I was with my mother we had to take several taxi journeys. Had I been on my own I would have walked. The rooms were very warm but as our room windows opened out into the shopping centre there was very little cool or fresh air. I would be very wary about visiting this hotel in summer!
