Grand Hotel La Sonrisa - Sant'Antonio Abate

Great place to stay if you are visiting Pompei and Vesuvio. Welcoming stuff, good breakfast, fast internet. We hope to stay in hotel again when we return to Napoli-area. You need your own car to stay here comfortably. With public transortation might be a problem... (There are no free hotel's shuttle busses)

The hotel is really stunning: big and confortable rooms, good service and cleaness. It's a good choice to visit Pompei & Ercolano's archeological sites and Amalfi's coast.

We loved this hotel - it is in a class of it's own for the sheer 'uniqueness' of it. We loved the rooms which were like something from a 50's film set - the decor was fantastic and the man on reception who booked us in was the epitome of the type of person who should welcome you to a hotel! Nothing was too much trouble for him and he couldn't do enough to help us. We would have liked to stay longer but there was so much to see (Pompeii, Herculaneum, Vesuvius, etc) and we were on a whistle stop from Rome. The only problem we had was finding it from the directions. I would recommend this hotel to anyone! Thank you.

La Sonrisa is an experience in its own... built on a 18th century villa, it is as extreme as only the best in Naples and surroundings can be (very baroc, fancy, and a bit "exaggerated"). We liked it a lot, service was warm and welcoming, the room and the structure were excellent in some aspects although they need restoring a bit in others. All in all, it is not a full 5 star hotel but rather a 4 star, we will return as it is worth the money and the experience

Excellent hotel, very good relationship between price and quality

This is a lovely hotel, as expected (from former comments) they did cater two weddings while we were there. However, they were able to serve a delightful dinner in a separate area. The pool was closed because of the weddings, but was open the next day. The breakfast was excellent, the best we has on our 3 week vacation with fresh pastries and eggs cooked to order. The weddings did not bother us as it was nice to listen to the live entertainment. We also found it to be easily accessible to the ruins in Pompeii.
