Hotel San Sebastián - San Sebastián

We had breakfast at the hotel and it was very good. service and selection were outstanding. the hotel is located just a block from the Playa la Concha and the view from the top of the nearby funicular was fantastic. the little amusement park was very retro and a delightful place to people watch. the room itself was amazingly quiet given the main street just outside. open the window and the sound of traffic was very objectionable, but close it and you heard nothing.

In general good hotel but not a four stars.It is a bit far from the center,at the left side of La Concha beach while the lively city is on the right side. Anyway if the weather is good it takes just a nice trip along the promenade by the beach to go the other side.

The location is perfect for pedestrians who prefer walking to Playa de Ondarreta a few 100 meters away. Several busses stops just in front of the hotel and there are many shops, supermarkets and bars in the neighbourhood. The surrondings are relatively quiet and apparantly safe.

The Wifi does not work in all rooms. You need to be close to the router or on the ground floor. The front desk courteously refunded me for the wifi card (No question money back warranty)

This Hotel is Called The Hotel San Sebastian which is part of the Occidental Group. Please note this name does not appear on the Web Site and we had a great deal of difficulty finding the hotel as it is not known locally as the Occidental. Iwould be grateful if you would rectify this error.

The staff were very helpful on arrival (the only hotel out of 7 we stayed at in August in Europe) who help us with our luggage. The restaurant was of cafe standard but with restaurant prices. A bit away from the life of San Sebastian and on a busy road.
