4 stelle "cadenti". Buono il parcheggio, la posizione, la gentilezza del pesonale. Camere vecchie, necessitano di manutenzione:il letto è una branda;il bagno é stato disegnato non da un architetto ma, forse, da un idraulico; mobili vecchi

The photographs and description of teh property gave both my wife and I high expectations for this hotel. Sadly the experience did not live up to these expectations. The Hotel is used by coach groups who insist on creating as much noise as possible at 0630 hrs when they depart which seems to be about every 2 days! The staff gave us little information when we checked in and it was almost impossible to get someone to serve at the bar. I shall not be recommending this hotel to anyone.

This hotel is superbly sited high above street level so receives outstanding panoramic views of the sea and foreshore park areas just below it and around it. The very busy and noisy CBD area of San Remo and it's train station are quickly accessible to guests by bus from a nearby bus stop or walking but we were very glad of the peace and quiet of the hotel site. The best of both worlds, as we trekked about the Italian Riveriera region and returned to blissful elegance at the Grand Hotel & des Anglais.

People and service make the difference for us. We were greeted warmly and treated professionally throughout the stay; the staff were very helpful with directions and recommendations. English language newspapers were available which I really appreciated. The Director/Mgr was attentive and responsive at all times---we will remember him. The dining room was quiet and "simply" elegant. Our room had a view of the sea which added to the tranquility of the hotel. The added advantage was the availability of parking (I had just spent 23 Euros per day 7 days in Nice). This hotel made our brief stay in San Remo very comfortable and memorable. Its just a charming and elegant Hotel. Ray and Priscilla Garcia, So. California/USA

Old, dilapidated and rundown best describe this hotel. Communal areas are acceptable, but bedrooms are a massive let down. Stayed one night in Sept and our room, although having a fantastic sea view, had dirty sheets, ants in the shower, a cracked and broken toilet seat and was generally dark and dank. The TV was from the 1970s. Breakfast service was surly at best; bread rolls were hard, tea was terrible, cutlery and cups were slightly dirty. The only choice of eggs were boiled, which were actually quite good. Definitely, not a four star hotel, maybe 15 years ago - not worth the €150 a night stay - would avoiding unless you enjoy disappointment or have broken down on the drive. the town centre itself is a massive letdown as well.

The only disappointments we experienced related to the coffee and rolls at breakfast. We have always loved Italian coffee but this was poor. The rolls were indifferent. The donner was excellent both in quality and price-the wine charge was very competitive. We found the staff all very friendly, helpful and keen to assist. The rooms were very comfortable and the room care excellent. The sea view was splendid/

The Hotel doesn't deserve the stars it has. All furniture and finish is old and poor. Wouldn't go back. Cleaness is ok. Breakfast cheap. Service minimal.

I booked 3 rooms for my family to stay for the weekend, I was promised if it was possible they would be upgraded to double rooms with a sea view, which, upon arrival (and proof of the promise) was honoured. My family were very happy with the hotel, a small walk from town but a nice one if you cross the road and take the sea side road. I would definitely reccommend Venere and the Grand Hotel des Anglais.

As with most "grand" hotels in San Remo, this suffers by being a little frayed at the edges. It was once a beautiful hotel and still is today, to a certain degree, but alas it's glory days are behind it. It sits, perched in the hillside and commands stunning views of the surrounding area. We stayed during the Monaco Grand Prix weekend and by and large enjoyed the stay, but considered the rooms to be a little over priced. Finally, the barman requires particular attention - he is an asset to the Hotel. The other staff are also courteous and helpful.

Good points: The staff were very nice, friendly and extremely helpful. The outside of the hotel and the public areas were lovely. Things to improve: The room was rather run down. I was sent an email by them telling me my room would have a "sea view" but I did not get one and as it was it was dark when I arrived I did not know till the next day so I did not mention it. The restuarant was only open at set times (6.45 for dinner). The bar was not open at all while I was there. As I was travelling alone I would rather have used a hotel bar than one outside.I felt it was a quite expensive considering there was very few facilities.

The elationship between the railway station and the hotel on their map seems somewhat out of date! An "old fashioned" hotel with character. Good evening meal at reasonable price

The grade in your web- it is over rated, this hotels should not be the 4 or 5 stars you have register them in.- prices are high for the value and quality of hotels.- you need to make all kind of neccesary adjustments so people from out of you country do not go just by the picture, ( everything look nice on pictures) most important thing you need to be ethic and honest on your sales or offers!!!!!!!. but, still my regards, Lourdes H. Mckinney .
