About Hotel Villa Sonnino

Villa Sonnino is located in the middle of Tuscany Region in the Medieval Old Historical town of San Miniato in a pictoresque landscape renowned because of the Rocca of Federico II as its natural background.

Villa Sonnino can be easily reached by the freeway connecting Pisa with Florence. The Hotel is wholly surrounded by the shining greenness of its woods and vineyards.

The ancient village of Cigoli with a renowned santuary can be visited on the hill facing the Villa. Villa Sonnino was built in 1500 and later on restyled by the Architect Arnaldo Ferri in the early 1700 by the family Grifoni.

In this Villa many noble families such as the Pesciolini and the Conti and at the end of the last century the Sonnino family which the present name comes from.

In these years the Villa has been again brought to a new life and to its old luxury so to have you as guests and to welcome and celebrate at best your happenings.

The avenue and its wood-park lead us to the amazing hall and then to the inner places of the Villa, from the typical stairs to the halls. Another building worth to be visited in Villa Sonnino is the chapel in which the "Trionfo di San Carlo" is shown in a fresco; the painter of this is the same artist who created the decorations inside the Villa halls.

Because of Italian holiday during our stay the restaurant was closed - unfortunately. English spoken service staff was not in place, although the remaing staff was very nice and tried their best.
