This hotel is out of Pisa and hard to find even for native Italians asking for directions if you do not have a GPS. If you try at night as we did, it is definitely a challenge. Other than that, it is a decent stay. The restaurant is not great by Tuscany gastronomy standards (pretty good in general) but the lady who runs it is very kind

The Airone Pisa park Hotel is a convenient family hotel, well located close to Pisa. The immediate surroundings, though, are all but exciting, since the hotel is not directly located in San Giuliano Terme but next to the road between Pisa and San Giuliano, in a rather unappealing suburban countryside. Guests definitely need a car or should be prepared to walk to the nearest bus stop when they want to do some sightseeing. However, the hotel has a nice and well maintained garden and a pleasant swimming pool. The room was spacious, comfortable and nicely decorated. Breakfast was unfortunately of a lower standard, very poorly presented (plastic table mats, plastic cups for juices and juices offered in their cartons on the buffet).

This was the high point of our travle. We recommend this hotel to everyone. At the time we were there their fruits were ripe and we felt like Adam and Eve in the garden of eden. The staf were very friendly and the rooms were big and clean.

Rooms are without proper ventilation. Main door itself is made as an window. In winter doesn't make much difference, but in summer, I guess it is a problem. Surrounding is good except a canal at front side of the hotel. Neverthless, it is best hotel for the price. Around 2 Km from Pisa tower.

Nice Hotel, a little bit tricky to find. Nice young cats all over the terrain. Try not to be late for breakfast (not even 30 seconds!) or it will be gone! all over all, nice hotel.

We were frustrated that we had booked a room with a jacuzzi many months in advance, yet when we arrived we were told that there were a limited number of these and they had been given to other guests (no explanation was provided as to why). There were clearly alterations being made to the outside of the bar, but this meant that the awnings had been removed (since last year) and there was very little shade in which to sit. The pool is a great draw, however there are insufficient seats (5 loungers, one of them broken) for a large amount of guests. The restaurant is a real asset; the staff are extremely friendly and helpful - speaking an impressive variety of languages - and the food is excellent and very reasonably priced. Take insect repellent, though, as the mosquitos enjoy its close proximity to the pool!

we were a family of 7.The rooms are very spacious. When we found out that in one of the rooms there had been smokers ,we got immediately another room. The parents room had a very fancy bath and shower. The desk gave us also the name of a nice restaurant in the neighborhood.

This is a great place to stay if you want a central base to tour Tuscany very close to all major cities. It is a very peaceful place to stay and great if you want to recharge your batteries before going home. Hotel is very clean and staff are very nice, did not try the breakfast as I had it last year included in the price and it was not up to much then, all rooms have a fridge so get yourself something in for breakfast. We stayed in room 7 (don’t know why there was a plant right outside blocking the door) if you stay in this room then be careful when taking a shower as the water floods the bathroom floor and it has no window so it is very dark, but all that does not matter as the views from the room are fantastic. My only moan about this place is that they do not have enough sun beds around the pool as most people seem to come back in the afternoon and end up sat on the grass getting covered in ants. SO PLEASE GET MORE SUNBEDS

This hotel is just our of Pisa city so you would need a car to travel into see the sites. Overall the rooms were very nice and and the hotel was run in an orderly manner. The owner is a very nice young man tuned into not only what the younger need but also the older. The pool area is extremly nice and my two teenage boys and husband throughly enjoyed the pool. As to the restaurant located at the hotel. Please note this is not run by the hotel itself and has been outsourced. To be totally honest, I would not recommend this restaurant to anybody who enjoys good food and service. The wait staff were not trained appropriately and the restaurant understaffed and the food served unpalitable to say the least. After waiting 30 mins for our first course we were told that the course we had chosed was no longer available! When asking for the bill and after waiting twenty minutes we went to the till to find that the bill was not even prepared! If you stay away from the restaurant side I would highly recommend the hotel to any traveller or family wishing to have a relaxing time outside the hustle and bustle of Pisa City. I would also suggest that you taste the owners friends wine, which was lovely as an afternoon relax.

The restaurant pictured along with the hotel turned out to be independent and only served evening meals. I had a pasta starter, steak dinner with potatoes and aubergine, and a capuccino coffee. I thought the charge of £24stg was expensive. The capuccino was disappointing and appeared to have been made with powdered milk. There was no food available during the day from breakfast in the hotel although the staff would prepare toasted sandwiches on being asked.

Although the hotel was nice the staff left a lot to be desired. Unhelpful, didn't smile, felt as though we did not belong there. I emailed them to ask to be collected from the airport by their shuttle bus but did not even get a reply. Having said all that it was easy to get into Pisa and Lucca on the bus and was cheap. Nice and quiet hotel located in a bit deserted area.Room and bath room were big but needs more maintenance. Jacussi did not work, shower tube was driping and stream shower knob was stuck. At the price we paid (68E) breakfast should be included. (We paid 50E in Firenze and got very nice breakfast so a hotel out of town in winter time should offer it as standard). We paid each 5E for continental breakfast which was minimal.

This hotel was well beyond our expectations. We were absolutely thrilled with our stay. The bathrooms were the cleanest I have EVER seen. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel. They are hard to find (especially at night), but worth the effort. The staff are extremely friendly and have a good command of English if needed. Also, the beds are wonderful, the rooms are warm and the water pressure was great. I've stayed in five star hotels that were not nearly as nice.

This hotel is an ideal base for Pisa and trips to Florence, Lucca, the coast and other parts of Tuscany. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only draw back being that there are no restaurants within walking distance except for the one attached to the hotel, which although we did not try, we guessed that it was not really suitable for the boys- a la carte. The rooms are very clean modern and we had a room with 2 boys aged 15 & 12 plenty of room we stayed for 3 nights. My Mothere had a lovely double room to herself . Rooms had a fridge, useful. PC internet access available for guest use, very useful. We would return.

Like others, we found this hotel hard to find and you definitely need a car to get there. We found the restaurant next door good and convenient. They should get in the breakfast business because the competition from the hotel is nil. It was the worst breakfast we had in Italy. (chemical juice, dry rolls, commercial jam and synthetic yaourt). On the other hand the room was very comfortable, clean, spacious and quiet. In short go there to sleep not to eat.

Fantastic jewel of a hotel (when you can actually find it). I agree with all the other reviews written, the "immediate left" you have to take is on a blind corner which you can't see unless you have gone past and are coming back the other way! Apart from that, the hotel is in the countryside and idillic surroundings. The swimming pool is fantastic, clean and large within grassed area with trees for shade and sun loungers. The hotel is very clean, large rooms and immaculate bathrooms, all rooms have a fantastic view of the fields and mountains. You can just hear the "pop" of a shotgun as the rabbits for dinner are shot. The front desk were very helpful in booking us tickets for Florentine museums as before we got there we didn't realise you could purchase tickets on-line for a specific time and avoid the queues. Right next door is a wonderful little restaurant where we had the freshest seafood pasta and the Florentine speciality of a whole T bone steak which is ordered by the weight, grilled on a charcole grill and served whole carved up - fantastic with the local rocket and tomatoes! Would definitely stay here again, wonderful place to relax into the Italian pace of life before hitting the bigger cities and siteseeing of Pisa and Florence.

We had a pleasant stay at tha Airone Pisa Park hotel. The swimming pool was beautiful, the garden was very nice, the room was perfect. Also the restaurant next to the hotel was very good. Not so good was the breakfast, which was extremely frugal. In the end, we found the hotel a little too expensive.

I decided to ignore reviews that this hotel was difficult to find because I could see the location on my Satellite Navigation Equipment. However this hotel did not really come up to expectations. I found it unreasonable that no glass was supplied for a glass of water and when I asked for one, to then be given a plastic cup. We asked for an early morning call but it never came. We were pleased to find a Restaurant next door but this also did not come up to expectations.

A good, basic hotel for those with no children. Bar and restaurant facilities are more homely than efficient. Staff very friendly and helpful. Although only 1.5 miles outside Pisa, taxis cost about £8 and are difficult to get, especially after about 7.00 pm. A car is recommended. Although infrequent, local buses do run on time and are very cheap. next to no public transport on Sundays. a single free Internet terminal is available. Local TV only, no satellite. Pool and pool area not suitable for young children and whilst OK for adults, the pool area is "rustic" but clean. Overall, this is a new start-up, just getting off the ground. Ok for adults not looking for sophistication but rather a farmhouse type atmosphere. such a beautiful area I'd still go back. Recommendations: Improve the shuttle service; satellite TV, if only for news!; improve quality of seating and surround at pool.

The hotel offered a good standard of accomodation although it is a little off the beaten track, if you like to drive abroad it is a great base. The owners didn't speak much English and my Italian is limited but we got by, the shuttle service is good and cheap compared to the local taxis. I didn't use the restaraunt as there was a convference going on and this is where it was held. There isn't much to do if you go back early in the evening because the bar is very limited and expensive 1.50euro for a small water. The rooms are very clean and well equiped. I found the grounds to be smaller than shown on the photographs and there was a lot of Aircraft noise during the day as the hotel is directly under the flight path, this didn't bother me but it could bother others. There is a local bus stop at the top of the road 5 mins walk you buy a ticket on the bus and you can get to both Pisa and Lucca from there. It is only 10.20euro return by rail to Florence and the rail service like the bus service prides itself on running on time. There is plenty to do in Pisa and the surrounding area and I would definately use the Airone again becaus as I said ealier it is a good base.

This hotel is just outside Pisa but very easy to get into town and to the airport. It is in a pleasant situation, the swimming pool is good, rooms and service excellent. The one drawback is that there is no restaurant in the hotel. There is one next door, nothing else in walking distance. Unfortunately we had our worst (and most expensive) meal in Italy at this restaurant. Some of the food was inedible and very disappointing. We were aware that other diners too were dissatisfied with their food. Unless there is a radical improvememt we would suggest vistors to this hotel drive elsewhere to eat.Breakfast at the hotel was limited to coffee, plain roll or croissant, obviouskly not the place for food lovers ...

This is a very pleasant, clean and tidy hotel for those who have rented a car and wanting a quiet base. The quad room that we had is excellent for those with children. Don't be encouraged though by the promise of satellite TV and a mini-bar. Instead you will get a small fridge and a selection of mostly dire Italian channels no matter how much you play with the tuning! Breakfast is a feeble affair not worth paying extra for if you can just book a room.

Once we found it, we were very pleased with this hotel. But it is quite hard to find as it is outside Pisa, closer to San Giuliano Terme and cannot be seen from the main road. A better map would help. Free internet access was appreciated. Only negative was obvious lack of good relations with next door restaurant which was fenced off from the hotel and could only be approached from the parking area at the back. Family owned and run and we felt that the family made a real effort to welcome guests. I was also pleased with the quick response of the chamber maid to my request for an extra pillow. I recommend this hotel.

We arrived early and were invited to use the swimming pool until our room was ready. The pool was brilliant, with a ledge to stand on all around the pool - even in the deep end. It was set in gardens with sunloungers (there could be a few more)so you could always choose to be in the sun, or in shade under the trees. Our room was spacious, comfortable and perfectly clean. We liked the room, the service, the hotel, the location and the surroudings very much! If we are coming back to Pisa we would choose the same hotel.

All you could wish for and probably more for the price paid. Excellent hotel in rural surroundings with superb pool area. Although out of Pisa centre, splendid hotel shuttle bus provided at very little cost

Es un hotel muy acogedor y tranquilo, recuerda a una casa rural. Para llegar hay que pasar por un pequeño camino de tierra. La piscina es muy agradable y dispone de juguetes para los niños.

Very hard to find the hotel. Nobody that I asked, in Pisa, had ever heard of the hotel. I got very useful help from an italian student and he called the hotel and asked them to come and pick me up, but no, no car available. No food available at the hotel (the chef had his day off).

We are a couple from Norway and have never been in Italy before, we wish to travel around by bus etc. The employees should have inform better about bustickets, opening times for the restaurant (closed at wedensday) and all theese practical things. Otherwise Giovanni was very kind, but I think it was to much for him to think of.

Hotel lovely, staff very friendly. The only gripe being that the hotel taxibus was unavailable 4 days out of the 7 we stayed as the driver had another job and the hotel was outside pisa and it cost us a lot of money for taxis.

Very nice hotel in the "outskirts" of Pisa (go get a rental car!), quiet and welcoming place, modern and new equipment, we really enjoyed the stay! Maybe you should book at hotelpisa.it because it is EUR 20 cheaper.

The hotel was friendly and efficient. Breakfast was limited (rolls, the option of 1 juice only, and coffee). The food at the restaurant next door was good, and the service willing but very busy. Much of the immediate surroundings are new, and in time the gardens and outside terrace should mature to add considerably to the appearance of the hotel and grounds. The sizeable pool was good for adults and children, and better in reality than in the website photos. All in all a reasonably priced and acceptable place to rest.

I loved this place! I stayed there twice, once on my way into Italy, and once on my way out. The 30-ish owner Giovanni was wonderfully nice and quite friendly -- on our second time there (one week later), when my niece came in before I did, he immediately remembered her and that she was with my group. We had a four person room, with one king-size bed and two twin size beds that comfortably fit my wife and I, our 18-year-old neice, and our 4 year old daughter. We used the pool each time we went -- it is a very nice pool and big enough for laps. The rooms are recently redone (the bathrooms are very nice, modern, and spacious for Europe); even the floors are new hardwood floors. The place is simple, but very nice and clean. Also, there is a computer in the main lobby that is available for using the Internet -- I used it each time, and it was very helpful. The setting is wonderful, beautiful in the countryside, really on a farm, but just outside Pisa. You will need a car to get to and from this hotel, but it was less than 10 to 15 minutes to the Leaning Tower area. My only issue is that it is a bit hard to find as it is off of the normal Pisa maps, so look at the map on the website carefully -- in fact, e-mail or call Giovanni and ask for directions (his directions to the airport were excellent for us.) Even so, staying outside of the city was very relaxing and much better than staying inside the city. One other thing, the restaurant on the hotel property is EXCELLENT! We ate all over Tuscany and our meal at the restaurant next to the hotel was each time the best we had in all of Italy and the prices are reasonable. The tomatoes were the best we had; the pasta was excellent, as was the rabbit. Honestly, I would stay there again just for the food. Not only would I highly recommend this place to anyone with a car, but I will stay there again myself.

We really enjoyed our stay at Arione. The rooms were very clean and better than the photo's. The price was very reasonable. It seems to be a fairly new business. Overall a very pleasant stay. Would highly recommend.

Setting and rooms were teriffic. Apparently our price did not include breakfast, which wasn't clear to us in the reservation process. They were nice but firm about that. The location was hard to find, but convenient and very quiet.

We booked this hotel on the basis of needeing a break from our tour of Italy. The hotel exceeded our expectations. A quiet country setting about 6km from Pisa. The facility and staff were first rate and I would recommend the hotel to all that want some time to regroup before continuing on in Italy. A beautiful serene setting in which to relax.

A very comfortable hotel, with very helpful staff/management. Although the restaurant is run separately, the people there were also very friendly and competent. (The person whose review complains about the price of the steak Fiorentina obviously can't read a menu properly, so ignore their complaints!) Definitely an excellent choice for visiting the Pisa area.I would have no hesitation in returning.

We had enormous difficulties in finding the hotel from the map provided and found it by chance. Explicit instructions need to be given - a dot on an indeterminate map is not sufficient.

the hotel is quiet, isolated near a lost canal in the country largely outside the city and at the end of gravel country track and very difficult to find with the "map" given. The room is very nice spacious modern and clean. The breakfast is continental minimal. A big effort is to be made to find the hotel, otherwise a very good surprise

Family of four, best hotel we stayed in. Had trouble driving to the place at night. The man behind the counter volunteered to drive and meet us at a location and drive us in. The written direction could be improved. USE MAPQUEST to get driving direction. Breakfast was mid range. Would definitely stay there again.

We ate at the restrant at the hotel and was treated not too politely. We had three children and they epected us to be quiet. It is hard with kids. We flew in but had to pay for the shuttle service to the hotel. In there adverstisement they will pick you up if you reserve directly thru the hotel. The location was quiet, but located far from the train station. Overall the trip was just below excellent.
