This was the third time we had stayed at Le Renaie. This speaks for itself. It is close to San Gimignano, which is a favourite place for us, as well as easy to get to a train to many other Tuscan highlights. Great walks around the area. And the surroundings are spectacular

It's a nice, comfortable hotel with very good dinners but very poor breakfasts (the orange and coffee are disappointing and if you're not early much of the food has run out). Most of the staff were pleasant though one or two were distinctly surly. It's not luxurious and disappointingly it doesn't really have great views of the countryside though the countryside nearby is lovely and the approach to San Gim is great. We would probably stay here again because it's realtively inexpensive but it's definitely no more than three star.

We loved Le Renaie and its surrounding area! Service and welcome was top quality. One point was that there was no tea & coffee making facility in the room and this would have been a good idea, I realise that this is not usual in Italy, but why not?

The hotel Le Renaie is a very quiet location where you can appreciate the reading, sunbathe in the beautiful swimminpool, relax on the hydromassage and eat at the Leonetto restaurant. Very interesting are the surrondings like as obviously San Gimignano where you can enjoy the medieval intact fascination and have a lunch or dinner at the terrace of La Griglia, or at Perucà or take the "fiorentina" at Le pietre tonde. Wonderful is also Volterra with his archeological sites, and most of all the medieval city of Certaldo alta, far from San Gimignano 15 km. We reccommend you to take the funicolare, visit house of Giovanni Boccaccio and the Palazzo Pretorio and then to have a lunch in the wonderful terrace of Osteria del Vicario.

The Hotel was lovely, very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We very much enjoyed the meals in the restaurant, and had a very relaxing stay. However, the rooms at the side of the hotel, over the reception and towards the back are a little noisy from the road. The decor in these rooms could do with updating, but the cleanliness and room servicing was faultless. The rural position of Le Renaie was very convenient for visiting San Gimignano, which was, at times, very busy and was also in a good position for touring Tuscany. The stay was better than we had hoped for and we were sorry to leave.

Our stay at Le Renaie was exactly what we were looking for: Comfortable, quiet and tipically Tuscany style. Perfect for day trip. close to every attraction: minutes from San Gimignano, close to Sienna and the Chianti. Relaxing and quiet to spend your evening, with great food and wine at the hotel restaurant. We were delighted with our stay at Le Renaie and would highly recommended the place.

Although not as quaint as some of the other places we stayed in Tuscany, Le Renaie was a clean and comfortable hotel. Our room had a balcony that overlooked the pool. The gardens were well kept. The hotel was a short drive to San Gimignano however Pancole was little more than a few houses along a street. We ate dinner in the hotel's restaurant- I would highly reccommend the Bistecca Fiorentine a 1.1kg T bone steak speciality of the region.

A wonderful view, and great food for breakfast and dinner. The spa was welcoming, and the location was great. We could hear our next door neighbors very clearly through the wall, however. All in all, the stay was great.

We were extremely pleased and surprised by the accomodations at this hotel. I feel they should update their photographs online as they have obviously done considerable work updating the rooms versus the pictures we saw. They were spotlessly clean and looked newly painted and furnished. Also, the garden is just beautiful and well maintained and deserves to be featured in photos. Overall our experience here was excellent in every regard. The food at the restaurant was very good and the staff was friendly and helpful. I do think that once your reservation has been confirmed that directions to the hotel would be a good idea. It is not far from San Gimignano but certainly not that easy to find without some assistance. We were quite fortunate to find a local gas station attendant who was pleased to give us directions to Le Renaie as he had been married there. A charming fellow - but for others who might not find him also - directions in advance would be a big help. I would recommend this hotel to anyone - it was one of the highlights of our vacation. The evening breezes on the porch, the garden, the food and the beautiful location.

We had a lovely stay. We were warmly welcomed and felt our stay there was an excellent choice. It was a bit of a drive from the heart of San Gimignano, but the view of the countryside was spectacular!! we had lovely outdoor breakfast every morning, the buffet choices were really great. The staff was very nice.We had read some reviews regarding the dinner food not being that great, but we had a very vice dinner one night outside in the veranda. We had nothing but good things to say. And on the days that were a bit hot, it was nice to put the A/C which we could control, unlike other hotels we stayed at which let you roast to death of heat until they "officially" turn on the air on June 1st, no matter how hot it may be before then. The only thing that I would like, is that they install shower curtains in their barthrooms. the bathtub/shower had none, and it was a challenge to keep it from spashing all over, I don't get it, it doesn't take that much to put a rail, and a curtain! we did have to ask for more supplies, because the maid had not added more on a daily basis.Overall, we would stay there again , if visiting that area.I'm very picky, but definetly think it's a nice place.

A lovely quiet hotel, with excellent service. We enjoyed our stay there very much. The evening meal was a bit expensive and it was a pity that on the weekend for breakfast they provided coffee and juice out of a machine, whereas in the week it was not. NB: The hotel is up a partially unmade road, which was not stated on the map!

The only problem: Meal on second day had extremely poor quality of lamb-chops. To my detailed critique given to the waiter -though told to the "chef"- there was no answer at all, even when I asked again next day. Theis was strange, but maybe blamed on the inability of italian restaurants to provide proper cookery as for meat (my general personal impression). Nevertheless, all other meal was O.K., especially the wine.

Unfortunately this year they had allowed additioal guest from outside apartments to use the pool. So at certain times the poolside was overcrowded, especially with noisy kids
