Hotel Casolare Le Terre Rosse - San Gimignano

Beautiful setting and a family run hotel where the key team were very helpful but unfortunately the service in the bar restaurant left a lot to be desired (breakfast team were great).Those with children would be put off by the owner attempting to instill strict rules around /in the pool - ball throwing/play not allowed!

Having read previous reviews on Venere I was not dissapointed with the Hotel.Had a four night stay, great location from where I visited several beautiful locations, Volterra,Montepuluciano,Certaldo and of course San Gimignano.If you dont want to travel the hotel has beautiful grounds and pool in which to relax.Service and food very good and would certainly recommend a visit.I would certainly stay there again.

Really can't fault this hotel. Really friendly staff, excellent rooms, great facilities and wonderful location. Highly recommended. Don't know who awards stars to hotels, but he was feeling mean when he only awarded 3...

very comfortable hotel, in agreement with the website. Staff efficient and cheerful, especially Sara. Very quiet due to location away from the city of San giminiano, though it is only 5 minutes far. Everything on site for the days you don't want to move and not far from other cities (Firenze, Siena..)

They need to offer some soy milk or rice milk for those who do not drink milk-

The staff personnel were great! The grounds and location were wonderful. Nice quiet areas outside in different areas. The a/c was weak so we slept with the window open but that was noisy as we were over the kitchen.

Perfect place to have a heavenly Tuscan vacation. Good breakfast. I wouldn't recommend dinner though. Food not up to par with the resion, horrible wine list as well

I would propose to have more choices in breakfast. Quality of fruits juice and coffee machines are not adequate with the level of this hotel. I recommend Certaldo, a lovely place to visit, and the Castelo of Oliveto ( you must reserve for tasting wines)

The modern decoration does not fit the ancient San Gimignano. The hotel is a little bit far from the town.

This was an excellent hotel in a terrific location. The facilities were as described and well maintained. The staff were very pleasant. The food, both breakfast and dinner, was not good which was the only disappointment. There was, however, a restaurant nearby which made up for this shortcoming. I enjoyed my stay in this hotel and would recommend it to anyone visiting this part of Tuscany.

This was the fanciest hotel we stayed at; it is quite a luxurious place, in a pleasant location amid the rolling hills near San Gimignano. We probably did not take advantage of the amenities, such as the pool, as much as we might have. Our only complaint was the high price for internet access--most of the less expensive hotels we stayed at provided it free--we never saw anyone using it here. There is a penitentiary a few kilometers down the road from the hotel, but that is more of a curiosity than a drawback--it must be one of the more scenically located prisons in the world.

Because we were staying for only one day, we got the roooms that were situated in the dependance, a separate building only 20 Meters from the road.

The environment was most pleasant and the location stunningly beautiful. This was one of the best accomodations that we experienced while in Italy for 2 weeks.

We had a wonderful stay here. The Hotel was excellent with a central location to Sienna, Florence, and of course, San Gimignano. Staff was very helpful. Price was very reasonable. Suggested to our friends and they enjoyed their stay as well!

This was a wonderful hotel; we loved the pool, the quiet, the nice staff. Only one minor complaint: there was an occasional sewer vent smell on the patio and in our friends' room, # 76.

We had a three day stay in this hotel and found everything to be extremely comfortable. A good centre for touring Tuscany.

i enjoyed the stay, only a little cold in the morning. You should prepare some quilt.
