We stayed one night at this hotel. It was the best hotel of the whole Italian experience even though it wasn't the most expensive! The stay was a most relaxing experience from the moment we entered the entrance to the receptionist to the moment we left. The staff were friendly and efficient. The room magnificent. The location perfect. We plan to return one day.

This hotel was a true pleasure to stay at. We had delicious breakfasts each morning and the setting is really special. The only slight drawback was having to park at the pay lot--rather expensive at 15 Euro a day. But that was a small price to pay for the chance to stay in such an enchanting town.

Room was very minimal. Hard bed. Water in shower swung from very hot to very cold continually. Room not as appears on web. Staff very friendy however. Very Disapointed. Worst night's rest in Italy.

This was our second visit to San Gimignano but our first time staying overnight. Now that we know where the hotel is, we will use a different parking lot in the future. We also did not know that we could have driven up to the front of the hotel and unloaded our luggage.

We enjoyed our short one night stay. The rooms and surrounding were very clean and quiet. The courtyard in the back was beautiful and relaxing. It was a nice spot to sit and enjoy a glass of wine or read. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. Be sure to ask about the well under the building...very interesting. Good location for seeing town without having to drive.

Great location within the walls of San Gimignano, a short walk to all the attractions of the city. Service was excellent when we checked in, with the concierge showing us a couple of rooms to choose from. Concierge helped us with nice restaurant recommendations, and also set up a winery tour (made the calls / faxes for us) Physically, a very attractive boutique hotel. Has a lounge downstairs near check-in. Very small elevator, barely fits two with luggage, so will most likely use stairs except at check-in / check-out. Large dining area for breakfast and a small out-door patio area. Internet access in downstairs lounge you can purchase time for but it is very slow. Room was very nice, with a large modern bathroom. Was a bit drafty, but there was an extra blanket in the closet.

This was a very lovely property within the walls of San Gimignano. The room was very clean. The staff was very accommodating and helpful when we needed a driver, restaurant recommendations, or directions. The breakfast room was very attractive and the food was plentiful and varied. The outdoor patio was very pleasant for an evening drink and conversation with other guests. We would certainly return to this hotel.

This is right in the centre of San Gimignano. The centre of this hill town is not accessible to traffic but you are allowed to drive up to the hotel doors to drop off your luggage, or park outside town and catch a bus which passes the hotel. The town is the most beautiful in all of Tuscany and I wish we'd stayed longer than one night. Our whole room was covered in original frescos, and beautiful but had no view. I would recommend this hotel and will be returning.

Our stay in the hotel was fantastic. We were in a room in the third floor, very clean and quiet. In relation with the breakfast I'll include regional products in it, as for example cakes and all kind of cheese.

An atmospheric hotel in the heart of town. A good choice for walking to one of the many fine restaurants. Car parking is down the hill away from the hotel, but is safe with security cameras in the public carpark recommended. Not expensive either. Nice courtyard garden in which to enjoy your aperitifs.

We stayed only one evening in this enchanting town. The hotel was a delightful surprize. Very clean and a combination of historical and modern which surprized us since we were in an ancient town and the building was built in the 1400's. San Gimignano was rich with history and facinating to read and learn about its past. A must see in tuscany which is why it was extremely crowded.

This hotel is ideal for anyone who wants to spend the extra money to stay directly inside of the castle walls of San Giomignano. The hotel staff was very pleasant and they even let us have a choice of bedrooms when we arrived. They serve breakfast in a lovely little dining room on the second floor, and on a terrace when the weather is permitting. Our room was very wonderful as well, and had a great view! Definitely will be returning here during our next stay in the city.

A wonderful little hotel on the main street that allows you to see the real town before the swarm of tourists. The photographs on the web site providing a guide to finding the hotel was very useful. The breakfast could have been a little more interesting. Overall the staff was very helpful and we will certainly recommend it to friends. Steve Hall

We loved it! The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a pleasant triple room with a large window over looking the patio, hillside garden and park area. It was lovely. The breakfast room and patio were beautiful. A very nice buffet breakfast was served, in a charming room. The town after 4:30, when most of the tour buses leave, was fun to stay in. I can easily recommend the hotel to my clients and friends.

This is a fantastic hotel. It is charming, beautiful, and reasonably priced. There is free internet and the hotel staff are incredibly helpful and competent. The town itself is magical and so is the hotel. I recommend it with unqualified enthusiasm to anyone. It is also within a stone's throw of a number of amazingly good restaurants. The breakfast at the hotel is also very nice and the breakfast room is charming.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay. No surprises. Bathroom nice and clean, room very nice and clean, linen was wonderful. The breakfast buffet was very elegant served on pressed linen, fresh flowers and a steady stream of friendly attendants serving espresso, tea, etc. We actually went back and stayed again prior to flying out of Florence. Advice: Dont rent a car, a cab is about 20 and everything is close by. Hotel parking is $30 a night! We loved not having the expense or hassle of a car. All in all a lovely stay in a fabulous location close to everything! Very upscale.

The hotel was very nice and the staff was friendly and helpful. The location was very good and the town of San Gimignano was our favorite in Tuscany. The only issue we had was the price was fairly high for what you got, but that was the case in most of Italy.

We had a lovely stay at this Hotel. We were allocated a large room at the front of the Hotel on arrival. This was a really nice room, however it was very noisy with the noise from the street outside. We spoke to the receptionist who arranged a move to another room the following day. We were shown the room first and although it was smaller it looked onto the terrace of the Hotel and was very peaceful. The Hotel staff were excellent. Breakfasts were great. The only thing missing was a courtesy shuttle service to/from the train station in Poggobonsi as when we arrived there were no taxi's and as the station is unmanned we felt it would have been ideal if we could have paid for someone from the Hotel to pick us up.

You really need to pay attention to instructions on how to get your car upto the front of hotel. We made the mistake of parking in lot nearest the city entry. Which translated to a quite a long walk with luggage to the hotel. An unwelcome excercise after having spent the day walking the city of Siena. Otherwise, the hotel and its staff were quite good and well situated. On Thursday mornings its the town's open market day which was quite an experience that I'd recommend to those planning to visit San Gimignano.

Driving into the old village to drop off luggage was a chore, but expected in an old town with limited car traffic. Front desk people are nice and helpful. We had anticipated a room with a terrace or garden from the pictures; reality was a small room, 3rd floor, facing the street which was extremely noisy with foot traffic in the evening and with delivery and construction trucks at 6 a.m. Air conditioning was minimal so no way to block the noise without suffering fromo heat. On seeing the room I requested another but the hotel was fully booked. We decided to move on instead of a second night, and the owner was sweet to offer us a larger, back room with terrace at the same price for the second night (we had already made reservations elsewhere and left). I'm sure the quieter, larger rooms are as depicted in photos, and the hotel is lovely otherwise. I would just make sure to insist on a quiet room when reserving.

Very basic room on upper floor (we heard lower floors had larger rooms?). Distant views were pretty but encumbered by the many television antennaes. Our two rooms were at the end of a hall around a corner so we were able to move freely between rooms in relative privacy. bathrooms were average. Breakfast room was nice and served a good, simple breakfast. The location was at the far end of the city so do not stop at the main entrance and walk to the hotel for check-in info as I did; a good long walk with the family sitting in the car. Also walked right past the hotel; unassuming entryway. San Gim is certainly worth the visit; great medieval atmosphere and good shops & restaurants. Not necessary to say in the city, however and there are many options in tuscany that we would choose as a 'base' next time.

We spent a couple of nights at the Antico Pozzo in late May. The location of the hotel is excellent, on the main street of San Gimignano inside the city walls. The room was fairly spacious and comfortable, the only drawback being the noise as it was on the same floor of the breakfast room and we were regularly woken up at 8.30 (although that is not so early after all). Overall we had a nice stay and we would recommend the hotel.

We were on the top floor which had sloping ceiling so the picture of looked very different to the ones on the website and the room was very small. We didnt pay too much attention on how to get there, and when we caught the bus we got off at the first bus stop, but if you get off at the 2nd bus stop, it takes you very close to the hotel. We had to walk uphill with all our luggage because the bus driver didn't tell us there was another stop even though we showed him the name of the hotel. Very rude! No complaints about the hotel itself, a very nice stay.

Not easy to find when you go by car. The noise level in the rooms concerning your neighbour is enormous, when he uses the toilette or takes a shower you'll shurely thing the whole hotel crashes! This is no joke! But I think the italian architects never heard anything about noise protection at all! The location however in the centre of this city is great.

Charming and friendly, clean and obviously well run hotel. Central but our front room although right on one of the main streets was quiet and cool (air con essential in July 37 degrees). very good breakfast - most ate in rear courtyard, which later in the day is very warm indeed. had to leave at 4.45am to catch flight and needed the hotel to be opened up - no problem. Recommend for adults. Not a child's place unless babies, which were well received and looked after.

L'Antico Pozzo is ideally situated on one of the main streets in San Gimignano. If you know the town, you know that even the main streets are peaceful and quiet. From the hotel, it is an easy walk to all of the attractions in the town. The hotel staff, especially the night porter (whose name I forget), were extremely helpful. The hotel is nicely renovated and decorated.

My wife's favorite hotel of our trip. Excellently located but San G. is awkward to get to by car, forcing you to back up 200m to the front door of the hotel. Maps and signs could be improved. The room was a little on the small side but so well appointed and the hotel itself so charming I almost feel guilty whining about so minor a matter. I would absolutely return.

We had originally booked a double room. Someone suggested we book the deluxe double. It was terrific. The room had a vaulted ceiling with a handpainted cherub and pastoral scenes. The room had many antiques and lovely appointments. We ate breakfast on the terrace outside with linen tablecloths and many coffee refills! The location of the hotel was ideal as it was near everything. I would recommend this B&B 100%. We just happened to be in San Gimignano on a Thursday when the open air market was in town. The prices for leather were better than in Florence.
