We were very pleased with the hotel service, i.e., maid, desk staff, bellhop. We were directed to the third floor for ice but the bin was bone dry. The vagrants howled all night long. We vacationed in San Francisco for eight days spending the first four nights at the Renoir. We have seen a mixture of married couples, some with families and singles that stayed at the hotel. Nothing seemed out of line or out of the ordinary.

We need you help with the standard on this hotel. I made a list so you can read what happened us. We though we should spend a nice New Year in San Francisco. 1. We arrived at the hotel on Tuesday the 30th of December 2008. At that time we were not in their register, even though they had withdrawn the money for the room. After an hour, at around 11 pm we received a temporary room. The staff was polite, and apologized 2. The next morning, they still didn’t have a room for us. We left our bags in the temporary room, and they were going to move them to our new room. When we returned after luch, there still was no room. Finally at around four we got a room, and it seemed like a good room, as what we had reserved a queen sized bed, and we had a view in three directions 3. The room was extremely cold. The radiator on the wall only worked for one hour, so it turned in to be a refrigerator. We mentioned it to the staff, and they were going to give us a space heater. We went out in town, and when we returned the room wasn’t made up, and still no heater. We called the reception, and got the heater after an hour. Unfortunately the heater fan was so loud that it was difficult sleeping. We had to heat the room up during the day 4. The curtains of the window facing east didn’t close, so there was a two foot gap, letting the morning sun shine right on the bed. 5. To get hot water in the shower, you had to leave the water running for 17 to 22 minutes! 6. The restaurant in the hotel was closed for renovations, so we had to leave the hotel to get breakfast. 7. We had booked the room for nine nights, but due to the condition of the hotel, we checked out after four. The nighttime front desk clerk said that we couldn’t get a refund, except maybe something for the missing breakfasts. The daytime clerk said that he would try to rent the room out so that we possibly could get some of it refunded. So we should be very grateful to get some money back. Our -balance is $ 297.24.

This is the worst hotel that I have ever, in my life stayed in. The room was very small, it was freezing cold because the window kept sliding up and the heater was only on for about 2 hours during the night. The shower was also very small and not very clean, there was mold all over like no one had cleaned it in a long time. The bed was so hard that my joints were sore every morning when I woke up and the blankets smelt dirty. We hung the maid service tag on the door to get our room cleaned, but it never got cleaned. Showers took forever not only because the lack of space, but the water took 17 minutes to actually heat up!!!! The walls were so thin thin that we could hear every thing going on outside our room. It was like we were sleeping out in the hallway. Oh yeah, the "crackheads" yelling outside at all hours of the night didn't make it any easier to sleep either. I wish I could get my money back.

The sofabed was so terrible, that my daugther got problems with her back. On the ekstra bed/sofabed the sheet/blanket was so thin, that my children were freezing the first night.

The hotel itself was clean however the area wasn't the best and our room did not have a/c. Hot water took forever to reach our floor and we could hear every sound from the street. The rate for the hotel was doubled over the holiday weekend which we did not realize when we booked the room. You also must pay for parking which is doubled on holidays. I would recommend this hotel if you want a cheap place to stay that is clean. I would rather pay extra and be in a "safer" area of town.
