We got a very good rate through Venere for a junior suite which accommodated our family of 5. When checking in, the desk clerk asked whether we needed the sofa bed made up. We said yes, but had to ask again in the evening because no one had come to do it. Other than that, service was fine. Breakfast was not exciting, but not bad except the mixed fruit (melons and citrus) seemed mushy like it had been frozen. I would prefer fresh fruit. This is an older hotel but the lobby was fine and our room seemed recently redone with fresh carpet and wallpaper. People who like older buildings with some character will probably appreciate this hotel--tall ceilings, moldings, etc. However our room was not the best--on the first floor and overlooking a parking lot, a bit on the dark side. A jr. suite on a higher floor would doubtless be more pleasant. We did hear some noise from the room above us, and we were unable to adjust the temp. or turn off the fan, whose noise bothered my husband at night. However, none of these were major problems.
