The hotel did not offer breakfast; I stayed in a room without any view; no ventilation; the building is very old and, unfortunately, surroundet with a lot of homelesses, drug dealers and drug adicts.

The correspondance between web pages and actual property is scandalous. For Example, the hotel was not located in Nob Hill as indicated but in the most unpleasant district !!!! Moreover the price is highest than what we found by walking around in San Fransisco !!! I won't recommand this website to any friends.

How to reach Hotel Mark Twain

By car
From Highway 101/from San Francisco International Airport:
Go North on Highway 101. Take exit I-280 N-Downtown San Francisco and get off at Sixth Street (a right hand exit). Go forward off the freeway up Sixth Street. When Sixth crosses Market, it becomes Taylor Street but keep driving forward. The hotel is on the left past Ellis Street.

From Bay Bridge (East Bay):
Cross Bay Bridge. Stay in left lane and exit at Fifth Street. Go slight left onto Harrison Street for one block then make a right turn onto Sixth Street. After Sixth Street crosses Market Street it becomes Taylor Street. The hotel is on the left side past Ellis Street.

By BART train
From the San Francisco Airport or East Bay:
Whether you are coming from the Airport, the Peninsula or the East Bay, get on any train that is going towards downtown San Francisco. Get off at Powell Street station. Follow the signs out of the station towards the San Francisco Visitor's Center or Powell Street. Walk up Powell one block to Ellis Street and make a left on Ellis, then walk two blocks to Taylor. At Taylor, cross the street and turn right. The hotel is only half block away.
