This was my first time, I would stay again. It is very well located to access central San Fran. it was clean and comfortable.

The neighbourhood of the hotel is not secure at all : We saw a lot of 'crazy' and 'drug-addicted' homeless during nights and days. Marijuana is also very easy to find all around the hotel which is however well located in city center.

We loved our stay at the Cova. My husband and 2 teen children were impressed. The employees were competent and friendly, and the mattresses were perfect. Shower water temperature was hot and had strong pressure. The complimentary breakfast was wonderful, there was a nice assortment of breakfast foods. The staff working the breakfast area was attentive, kept the tables clean and continually brought out food to replenish. We will definitely stay here again when we travel to San Francisco in the future.

The area is not for the faint at heart. Plenty of homeless and drug addicts, some of them going right after you. The hotel is pleasant enough, but we hurried to and from the hotel- as soon as you enter Tenderloin, it gets bad. Breakfast room was too small as they had a group in the hotel where 50 people were having breakfast at the same time. we ended up standing around 20 minutes until we got a table.

My stay was good on 26 july, but when I came back on 16 august I had a voucher already paid but they told me there was no availability due to technical problems and they offered another hotel in chinatown. As I started calling 1-866-...for help they immediately found a room for the night.

How to reach COVA Hotel
By carFrom San Francisco international airport (SFO):
Take US-101 N towards San Francisco, then take I-80 E toward Bay Bridge/Oakland/Seventh St/US-101 N. Take the 7th Street exit toward US-101 N/GG Bridge/Downtown. Make a slight left onto 7th Street N. Turn left onto McAllister, right onto Leavenworth, then left onto Ellis Street where the hotel is located.
From San Jose:
Take I-280 N towards San Francisco and exit at 6th Street. Continue along 6th Street to Market; 6th Street becomes Taylor. Take Taylor Street for around three blocks then turn left onto Ellis Street.
From Santa Rosa:
Take US-101 S towards San Francisco and across the Golden Gate Bridge onto Lombard Street. Turn right onto Van Ness, left onto O'Farrell, right onto Hyde then right again onto Ellis Street.
