The location was very good in the center of the city. The breakfast was very good. Twait staff is attentive & charming.

Nice, quiet and very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It's very small, very similar to a bed and breakfast. I live in LA and I like to go up to San Francisco for a weekend now and then and hotels can get pricey. The Cornell Hotel de France is perfect for a quick weekend getaway.

Really lovely small hotel in central San Francisco. Room was small, but suited my needs. Lots of art on the walls. Free wifi.

I was traveling as a single, female and loved this location. The rooms were clean and small, so if you plan to spend a lot of time at the hotel, this one may not be for you. But there is a lot to see just outside the hotel door! Breakfast was provided but I chose to eat at some of the cafes nearby so I cannot comment on the breakfast.

Lovely place, nicely decorated. Free breakfast and wireless wifi made it a good deal. Staff were great. Phone was broken, but staff let me use the phone next door in the suite.

The hotel was in an excellent location. I found one of the staff memebers to be rather unhelpful. It was a holiday weekend and I was inquiring about MoMA hours, she handed me a phone book and told me to call myself. As the phone in my room was not working she begrudgingly looked it up on the interest. Also, on the webiste it stated that there would be complimentary shuttles from the airport, which there is not. It also mentions that you may get on any shuttle going to Union Square, which you cannot. Breakfast was excellent, but only served for I believe 1.5hrs. I did not have a chance to eat at the restaurant because it is not open Sunday and Monday.

Great location and unless I find another bargain like this one, I'll continue to return when I have to stay in the city. Definitely meet my expectations.

The location is superb, three steep blocks from Union Square and close to Chinatown, so take this into account if you plan to walk. The personnel is friendly and unobtrusive and the hotel, small and quaint, with a definite French charm. Rooms are definitely small but quiet. Tip:If you do not find a hairdrier in your bathroom, ask for one, the front desk will provide it.

It was a good hotel. Although it is in the middle of a hill, the location is very central and there are cable cars just in the corner. There was no conditioning air in the room I stayed, just a fan. The room is quite small but is quiet and clean. There was free wifi internet in the lobby. Although there is nothing exciting about the hotel I would recommend it.

This was a great place for the price. The room was small but had everything that we needed. The location was excellent not far from Chinatown or Union Square. The breakfast was large and satisfying though there were only 2 choices--french toast or eggs & toast with fruit juice, fruit, coffee or tea--in a pleasant environment. The hotel was short handed at the check in area which I would consider a problem at times.
