This was an OK hotel. We stayed one night before a tour and were given an EXTREMELY small room, but it was quiet and clean. When we returned from the tour, we were given a bigger, more comfortable room, also quiet and clean. The desk staff were helpful and polite. We would stay here again, because it is central and very reasonably priced, but we would insist on the bigger room.

This is the 3rd time I've stayed in San Francisco and the 2nd time at the Grant Plaza. The hotel is okay. If you're looking for something nice and comfortable I wouldn't stay here. But if you're looking for a great location and somewhere that's in the middle of everything...stay here. That's why I keep coming to this hotel. It's so easy to get around from the location.

The room was very small decor outdated, there was a charge for the ICE! I would not stay there again. It was in a good location as it is IN China town but i was not impressed. the pictures are a little deceiving.

I was looking for a nice place to stay downtown San Francisco for an acceptable price, and this hotel ended up being exactly what I wanted. The room was cozy, but big enough for leaving my stuff and sleeping. What else did I need? I would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody who wants to stay in a central area, though of course you have to be aware that this means you'll hear all the city noises!

Excellent location, 1 block from Chinatown entrance gate! Room and shower a bit small but great deal for the price. Clean and quiet room. Will stay there again next year.

Great location in China-town (depends ofcourse if you like that - we did!!). staff very helpfull with advices of what to see and where to eat, etc. no breakfast but nearby places to eat. perfect for walkink to most SF attractions.

Our room in the Grant Plazza hotel was very small and a bit scruffy but for the price , this was what we were expecting. Our reason for choosing this hotel, was its excellent location on the China town/ Union Sq border

This hotel advertised "Entire property is air conditioned" and "Garage." The property is not air conditioned; the garage is not part of the hotel and must be paid in cash. The hotel is very convenient to two cable car lines.

The 72 rooms over 6 floors are comfortably furnished and available with either one double bed, twin beds, or two double beds, all with private bathroom and opening windows.

How to reach Grant Plaza Hotel
By carFrom South Bay/San Francisco International Airport:
Follow 101 North to I-80 East towards Downtown/Bay Bridge and take Fourth Street exit. At the stoplight continue straight onto Bryant Street and follow Bryant for one block to Third Street. Turn left onto Third and go 8 blocks to Sutter Street. Turn left and go one block to Grant Avenue. Turn right and proceed 2 blocks to Pine Street; the hotel is on the left.
From East Bay/Oakland Bay Bridge:
Follow I-80 West across the Bay Bridge. From the right-hand lane take the Fremont Street exit. At the traffic lights, veer right onto Fremont Street. Follow Fremont for 5 blocks, crossing Market onto Front Street, then quickly turn left onto Pine Street and go 5 blocks to the corner of Grant and Pine Streets to arrive at the hotel.
From North Bay/Golden Gate Bridge:
Follow 101 South across the Golden Gate Bridge. Follow 101 South through town along Lombard Street and turn right onto Van Ness Avenue, continuing on 101 South. Turn left onto Bush Street and follow Bush 10 blocks to Grant Avenue. Turn left onto Grant and go one block to the corner of Grant and Pine Streets; the hotel is on the left.
