COVA Hotel - San Francisco

Our room was clean and they wouldn't let us check in 20 minutes early that doesn't even make sense. They didn't try to explain the shuttle to us, just pointed to a schedule.

The staff at reception were very welcoming and friendly. It is very close to the main shopping area (Union Sqare) where you have all the shops you could ask for (designer and high street)This hotel is very clean and the Personal is very sympatical and professional, Good breakfast. the shuttle is very welcome to drive in downtown. I a very happy to choose Cova Hotel. The price is not so expansive than the other in San Francisco for the same comfort.

Cova hotel was clean, comfortable, & reasonable value for money. The location is within reasonable walking distance of public transport, shopping, & restaurants however be prepared for the homeless people on Ellis & surrounding streets, & catching a cab on Ellis was almost impossible.

The Cova hotel has a depressing '70s decor which needs to be updated. We had trouble understanding some of the reception staff and I believe they were speaking English! My daughter has severe intolerances to lactose and gluten which were made clear at the time of booking. I was very disappointed with what little food they provided for her breakfast and also not knowing or bothering to find out if the cold meats on offer had either gluten or lactose in them. I was also very disappointed with the tea and coffee facilities in the room. You had to heat your water up for making tea in a coffee filter machine, so the tea had a musty coffee flavour. YEUK! The phone wasn't working in the room and I had some important calls to make, so I reported it to the reception who were unsure if I wanted it fixing or not! The room service lady was excellent. The room was (old) but immaculately clean. The beds were comfy and made really well, the sheets were lovely and fresh, the complimentary toiletries were fantastic and the towels were fresh, clean and fluffy :) One last thing, if you go back to the hotel at night, don't walk, get the courtesy bus to pick you up from either Union Square or Fishermans Wharf. We (Mom & 20 year old daughter) were quite frightened by who crawled out of the woodwork wnen the sun went down!

Nice hospitality, good room, excelent breakfast, excelent shuttle to transport us to downtown and fisherman warfs.

Breakfast was ok....not geat just ok

this was my first time, I would stay again. It is very well located to access central San Fran. it was clean and comfortable.

The neighbourhood of the hotel is not secure at all : We saw a lot of 'crazy' and 'drug-addicted' homeless during nights and days. Marijuana is also very easy to find all around the hotel which is however well located in city center.

We loved our stay at the Cova. My husband and 2 teen children were impressed. The employees were competent and friendly, and the mattresses were perfect. Shower water temperature was hot and had strong pressure. The complimentary breakfast was wonderful, there was a nice assortment of breakfast foods. The staff working the breakfast area was attentive, kept the tables clean and continually brought out food to replenish. We will definitely stay here again when we travel to San Francisco in the future.

the area is not for the faint at heart. Plenty of homeless and drug addicts, some of them going right after you. The hotel is pleasant enough, but we hurried to and from the hotel- as soon as you enter Tenderloin, it gets bad. Breakfast room was too small as they had a group in the hotel where 50 people were having breakfast at the same time. we ended up standing around 20 minutes until we got a table.

my stay was good on 26 july, but when I came back on 16 august I had a voucher already paid but they told me there was no availability due to technical problems and they offered another hotel in chinatown. As I started calling 1-866-...for help they immediately found a room for the night.
