Civic Center Motor Inn - San Francisco

My girlfriend and I checked in for a weekend away to the city. The staff was extremely nice, and even let us park our car while we went to brunch before check-in. The room was clean, but showed obvious wear from when it used to be a smoking room: old sheets with an old cigarette burn, as well as lingering smell from smokers. This would have been OK to look past, but the room we had (235) shared a wall with the ice machine. Being a Saturday night, many people decided to get ice and party in their rooms, which kept us awake. Additionally, at 4:00 AM, however, a group of people in the adjacent parking lot began screaming and yelling, which sounded like directly outside of our door. The walls are paper thin and do not insulate sound at all. The screaming finally stopped at 5:00 AM, and we did not have a good night's sleep, to say the least. The hotel staff told us that if this happened again, to alert them immediately and they would try to deal with the problem. Overall, for the value, I think the price was a bit too steep, but the staff was friendly and willing to help.
