I stayed only one night at Harborview Inn, but will definitely choose the same place when coming back to San Diego. The location is excellent, next to Little Italy with its great restaurants and charming cafes, 30 minutes to Balboa Park, 20 to Gaslamp District, less than 15 to the Union Station and the harbor. The room and the bathroom was big enough for one person. I had problems with opening the (old) windows, but since there was a fan / heater this wasn't a problem. I agree that the breakfast is rather poor, but you can either head to one of local eateries (from Starbucks which is just around the corner to cafes and restaurants serving mouth-watering breakfasts in Little Italy) or use a microwave which is provided (and there is also a fridge). The staff was really nice and helpful. Finally, the price for a private room with a bathroom is almost the same as in hostels/hotels with shared facilities and without any breakfast at all.

Great place for the money. Everyone was friendly and the stay was worth it. It is close to downtown, but a bit further (which is why the price is reasonable). They allow pets for $10 a day which is so great compared to every other hotel in the area.

Room was very clean. Very noisy room which was to be expected given the location next to the freeway. Easy walk to harbor.

On your website there was one queen bed room for three people, fortunately the employee was so kind to give us a room with 2 queenbeds for three people. Check better next time! We were the first clients for that hotel throught venere.com.
