The room was decent. Everything was dated but seemed to be clean. For $50 a night, I wasn't expecting much. Was nice of them to provide free computers and free Wi-Fi...

We stayed one night in this hotel. It is located on a mainstreet in Oceanside property. The building is nondescript and it is hard to locate, if you weren't looking out for it. The signage is hard to spot. The hotel is close to the Oceanside beach attractions and about 30 minutes from downtown San Diego by car. The hotel is undergoing an exterior facelift, but also needs a bit of renewing inside. For example, the sink in our room had seen better days with deep scratches and the curtains were missing some rings. Neither of these things took away from our enjoyment of our stay. The windows appeared new and our sheets were clean and smelled nice. So, otherwise, both the public areas and guest rooms appeared to be clean and neat.

Stay at Dolphin was quite surprisingly pleasant given the negative reviews before. But the hotel appears to have a lot of new recent upgrades. A pleasant, clean, well-kept hotel, with friendly service. I would stay here again. Many thanks to Dolphin for their kind care and advice. However, there is a need to review its strict cancellation policy. Overall, a nice, inexpensive hotel! I can definitely recommend to others.

I can honestly say I have never had a more awful experience in my life in regards to a hotel. The air did not work, the tv did not work, and the door knobs fell off. There were extremely strange people staying there, and they kept knocking on our teen girls room asking them to drink with them. The entire hotel was undergoing renovations, and only a few rooms even had doors. The only positive thing I have to say regarding this place was that it was clean. We left after being there for an hour, and got another hotel.

This is not a place I will ever return too. The staff was o.k., but the cleanliness of the room was the worst I have ever experienced. Undusted rooms unvacumed floor, the bathroom had not been cleaned the ceiling fan and vents full of dust. Nothing was clean about the room.

I wanted to stay at the Dolphin Hotel so that I could stop off the train, which it is convenient for that. My room still had masking tape from when they painted it on the windows, there were not blankets on the bed (it was cold)l, the sheets were wrinkled, you could not park on the main street in front of the hotel, they would not refund your money, there were vending machines in the reception area. It did have free (off and on) wi-fi, it was inexpensive and located in the middle of town. It was an adventure, but I would not go back.

This is an old hotel, and it looked like a lot of areas were undergoing repair or construction. My room's bathroom was rather old and the water pressure was not great. On the up side, it was the most affordable hotel near the city center area that I could find. I guess you get what you pay for.

It is a lovely building. I was so thrilled that it is still in the condition it's in, which is very good. It made me miss those style of hotels from my childhood!

I was not impressed at all! We checked in and my name was not on the reservation list. I was given someone else's room. Went to the room and it smelled. Pulled the sheets and there was hair. Asked for replacement sheets and was given a bunch of sheets and pillow cases. One of the windows had plexy glass and could not be closed. The bed was in terrible conditions. The carpet had not been cleaned. The refrigerator was unplugged and leaking on the carpet. The microwave was filthy. Someone was caughing up a lung all night next door. NOT HAPPY!

It was my worst experience in US so far. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. There was no room service at all and the price quoted definitely did not make any sense for the services offered. I would like to say that do not go to this hotel. They are cheats. The rooms do not have A/C. The bed linens are old and not cleaned. Some bathrooms do not have shower curtains and no door locks. Overall a horrible experience!!! Not worth the money at all.
