lake melissani is only 15min walk and is a beautiful underground cave with a 7euro entry fee but worth it and also a nice taverna very nearby to the hotel which is amazing food for a great price.

barely any towels provided to shower. at breakfeast the hardboiled eggs were not cooked all the way. i barely got a bar of soap. the hotel did not have usa chargers universal type. on the website for venere, it states all the accomodations such as hotel shuttle provided, tourist info. all this was denied. the room was not worth 100 euro at all. more like 34 euro. hostel type feel to it. all information given was wrong and inconsistant to other people. not a friendly island, wuld nver go to kefalonia again if you paid me. i dont know if its just the aegean islands but i noticed a lot of predjudice and racism stares comments, slys etc. Im from a honky tonk redneck town and i expeierenced more uncomfortable qaucking three days on kefalonia than than growing up. My other expierence five years ago to the mykonos, paros, ios, and santorini was not this remote and no diversity wiht all ignorant greeks who have never been educated or exposed to other ethinicities or races. terrible, i wanted to leave. I am greek and it made me feel embarrassed that these people were staring like they did, like they nver seen a black man bfore. disturbing. the island did not represent greece;s renowed hospitality at all, service in every resturant was horrible, ignored..and not welcoming, helpful or accomodating at all. I will nver book with venere again and i wish i could have a refund, cus that box hostel room was worth 45usd the most not 100 euro. and it was my bday, i went there for panayia, wch is my bday on the holiday aug 15th that i saved up for five years to spend there in greece and i was trying to go to the festivle in panayia in markopoulo and NOONE could give me an ansere directly how to get there, if its going, it is, it wasnt...bla bla not happy at all.kefalonia def needs some education and obama speaches cus they degraded my four year old by racial daughter up and down and mistreated her and also to my friend who is hatian. im embarassed to be greek,. Good hotel, clean and well located. But the real added value is the staff: the owner Maiki will welcome you as best friends and he will be kind and helpful along your staying at the hotel.

The hotel is very clean the apartments are very good size e the staff are very gentle.

Good position for island trip just in the middle. 30 min ride by car to reach every place. Very quite and you can't miss the manager Mr Maiki always ready to suggest places and reataurants to spend your evenings.

While the rooms were simple, they were clean. Great location: not in the center of the town, which made it quite, but within a few minutes walk. Beautiful setting on the bay, and in the center of the island, which makes it the best location if you want to explore. The best part of the hotel are the owners. They are fantastic. They treat you as if you are part of their family, and will assist in whatever they can. Be sure to ask them for restaurant reccomendations!

Our room was nice and clean with its own bathroom, free air conditioning, TV, and a balcony. It was a little small, but very comfortable. The owners were lovely and helpful and the hotel's common areas are completely relaxing and afford beautiful views. However, the property is a 20 minute walk from the town of Sami, although the walk is very pretty and along a beach boardwalk. This was a great place to stay. Renting a car is a must for the island of Kephalonia!

My stay at Hotel Athina Beach was superb! The place is clean, friendly, a great value, and close to everything. The owner/manager is directly involved and is intent on making your stay a perfect one. I wish they ran all the hotels I patronize.

We had a wonderful stay at Athina Beach. Elena was very friendly and was a great help in suggesting ways to best get around the island. She also helped us get a better price for our flight out of Kefalonia. Marcus was also extremely friendly and always had a smile on his face and greeted you every time as though you were a long time friend of his. They were wonderful to talk to and we often spent time in the hotel bar with them chatting like old friends. Although we only had a short stay (4 nights) we had a wonderful time. The staff get along with people of all ages. I would say Athina Beach caters for persons of any age. We would definately recommend this hotel!!

The hotel was quite well represented by the photos on the website. The welcoming was great and the owners were very kind in offering everyday tourist information. The hotel is located in the surroundings of SAMI, very near to the port and in a central place to see the whole island and beautiful beaches. In all cases you will need a car to see the island (that is very big).

Very nice people, good confortable and sufficiently quiet place, good services. We were a little cautious when arriving because the photos from the internet were not that great, but we did have an excellent stay and will certainly stay again in this same hotel in the future. Everything was good or even better, and the owners made it even nicer for us as for all their guests. We would strongly recommand this hotel to any person wishing an excellent central location to discover the islands of Kefalonia and Ithaca. A very positive experience, and unforgettable holidays in a superb place !
