Hotel Via Roma - Salzburg

Location quite good, approx 15 min walk from centre, quiet area, hotel rooms expensive for what is offered and not corresponding to a 4 star hotel really, breakfast was extra 9€ each, too expensive for what is provided, staff ok, good location for people with cars as there is a private car park

The room was large (pleasant surprise to us) and spacious and despite the fact that we also had a baby travel cot installed, we were able to move freely without bumping into each other. The window was to the road and we were worried about the traffic noise, but there was hardly any traffic after 10p.m. so we slept well. The bathroom was also good sized and clean with all the necessery hotel toiletries provided.(Must say, once used, they were not restocked.) The staff spoke perfect English and were professinal and helpfull. All in all, this hotel has a feel of being family run and well loved and cared for, and yes, we will return for another long weekend break.

We rate the hotel as all 10-s: it is excellent and we appreciate the boss / staff for our pleasant stay and successful work in Salzburg. If WiFi internet is not strong enough, one can use a cable instead.

The family room was incredibly spacious and clean and one would expect that at the price quoted. Very disappointed with breakfast at 9 euros per person. It should be included in price of hotel. Would re-think returning due to price of breakfast.

Excellent hotel, 10 minutes walking from the city centre. Clean, big, confortable room. The breakfast was really good with a big choice.

The hotel is a good walk from the main square, but its a great value if you like large size rooms. The hotel rooms are either new or newly refurbished and extremely spacious (we had a 2 bedroom) -- almost an apartment like feel. The breakfast was very good. There is a separate restaurant downstairs, but we did not eat there. Also, parking at the rear of the hotel is limited so we parked on the street without any problem.

This hotel was a great find for Salzburg. We stayed there for one night during Euro 2008, and would have stayed longer, but unfortunately they didn't have any availability because the city was so crowded. The hotel is not in the center of town, but it's within reasonable walking distance (about 15 minutes). We were shocked at the size of our room, it was huge! The bathroom was very nice and modern as well, so there is really nothing to complain about. The rate included breakfast, which was served in the hotel's restaurant, which was very nice. If we had stayed longer, it would probably be a good place to have dinner, but unfortunately we didn't have the time. I recommend this hotel to anyone going to Salzburg, and would definitely be staying there again.

Excellent room at rear of hotel. Large, well appointed bathroom, comfortable bedroom. Easy to find from the South, close to city centre - 20 minutes walk. Friendly staff, good breakfast. Excellent, secure parking at the rear of the hotel, with nice gardens. For people with cars this is a top place to stay.

Breakfast was good You can go walking to Salzburg center (20-25 minutes).

Excellent location near town centre, large rooms and very good breakfast

A very small public area,smokefilled and rather depressing, but the indivual room was GREAT! Bathroom was large and very well appointed. Our room overlooked the Fortress and Nonnberg Abbey both beautifuly lit at night. There was an attached Italian Restaurant that had great food. The breakfast was very good and the seating was in a nice sun room.But if you dislike smoking Austria is not the place for you. My husband and I both suffered from congestion and headaches from the quanity of smoking. Location was good and not to far fromt the Old City.

It was a good hotel to go with the familly, enough close to walk to the center. Be carefull to not forget a bag on the parking, it can disappear very fast. Although the parking is convenient too. Room quality is well corresponding to the price.
