Well, we booked the room with street view as it was cheaper - if you are a light sleeper, do not book a street view room - traffic was noisy. Loved the decor, staff was helpful and friendly, breakfast was worth the price for us, little off the beaten track - not much in neighbourhood and takes about 10 min by bus. Overall, I would consider returning again.

The hotel is a bit old but very clean and quiet. Not as far from city center as expected (15 min on foot). Food/shopping nearby. Free internet in lobby. Free parking. Good value for money. I would definitely stay there again.

Nice old buildings, clean rooms, bathrooms, fresh interior well designed, nice furniture, TV, good wireless access to Internet, friendly qualified personnel. Good breakfast. Would recomend if you dont care about distance to city centre. However bus-stop is just opposite the entrance. Thanks Turnerwirt !

High price for such type of hotel, but seems that's overall situation in Salzburg. There is very convinient bus stopping across the street. It takes 15min ride to the old town. The room was facing the street and it was noisy and hard to sleep at nights. If you're with car there is free parking. There was no elevator and if you have heavy suitcase you better have good muscules.

Colazione standard molto buona. In complesso ottima struttura!

When we arrived the front desk staff was very helpful in getting us to our room as well as getting us around the town. Everyone was extremely pleasant and helpful. Though it was slightly outside the tourist areas the public bus stopped directly in front of the Hotel which was VERY convenient and made getting around the city easy. I would stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay , although it was only for a night, and had our first snow in Europe. The breakfast was disappointing as there was not much variety and the apple strudel had mould on it in various places. We asked the waiter to take it back to the kitchen before any other guests ate any.

This hotel was a great find. It was very clean and a good location. Showers were hot and had good water pressure. Rooms were great, and more spacious than expected. There occasionally was the smell of smoke in the public areas (despite them being a non-smoking area), probably from the staff. The staff were friendly and moderately helpful--not overly helpful. Breakfast was a little sparse: bread, cold cuts, cereal, cheese, yogurt, fruit, but not great selection of these. It was enough to get the day started and was open at 7. The walls were a little thin when we were next to a family with teenagers. The location on some of the city's main bus lines was handy--never had to wait more than 10 minutes for a bus. I don't think it could be considered practical walking distance from teh train station (especially with a suitcase), but the busses are actually a great way to get around in Salzburg. Perhaps the biggest drawback is the lack of dinner restaurants within walking distance (at least we never found any), so you will have to plan ahead. We needed a room for three and a room for four, and this was the best place to accomodate our group. The photos were an accurate represntation of the hotel and rooms. We'd stay here again.

Friendly comfortable hotel. Quad - room big, bathroom a bit small but well appointed. Our room faced the side (side car park), so no traffic noise, just a bit from late coming guests. I knew the room had no air con, so left windows open during the night - barely adequate. Begin. August in Salzburg was an oven! TV good reception but we couln't plug in the Play Station of the children, not all hotels can do this. Hotel is well connected by bus to central Salzburg, but you need to watch when the last bus comes back, as we were left stranded when our performance ended so late. Plenty of friendly, reasonably priced taxis though. Good breakfast buffet. Note - no lift, all the luggage has to be carried up. Would recommend it to anybody despite the lack of a/c. Perhaps they can offer fans to guests? Dining in Salzburg is a doddle & nearby restaurants are ok. Parking is free and within the hotel.

We travelled as a group of seven and stayed in the annexe of the hotel, which was gave a feeling of privacy. The rooms were on the small side but well presented and clean. However, there was no air conditioning in the room which meant that we had to have the window open which was a little noisy at night. Also, the 'double' bed was two beds pushed together with two single duvets, which was a little inconvenient. The breakfast was plentiful and varied enough to suit everyone. However, we were told it was not possible to eat in the restaurant of the hotel in the evening as it was only for groups(!?). The area the hotel was in had shops, pubs and restaurants close by and was very clean. The bus stop was directly opposite the hotel and the city centre is 10min tram ride away and is 1 euro 80 each way. Also, hotel pickup for tours of salzburg, mountains, sound of music, etc. is available. Overall I recommend this hotel and would stay there again as it was good value for money.

The hotel's own website suggested two buses to get to them but, if people are willing to walk, a number 2 bus from the airport's all you need, so long as you know to get off more or less at the end of the hotel's road and are happy to walk for 8-10 minutes (with light baggage?) The recommended bus routes made the place feel far more isolated and far from the centre than it actually is.

The hotel room was clean and spacious enough for three adults. The employees were most gracious and helpful. The bus stop to/from Mirabel Platz was right out front of the hotel. The front desk recommended an excellent restaurant that was about two blocks away--well within walking distance. Breakfast was included and was most sufficient. The only drawback was lack of an elevator, but that is common in European hotels and was not a big issue. We were able to leave our luggage there at checkout and pick it up several hours later. We would certainly recommended this hotel and would stay again.

The service level was above and beyound of my expectations, room was neat and exceptionally clean and (most important after a long day) very quiet. The bathroom was sparkling-clean but a bit small, though still functional. The only minor inconveniece I had was that I had to take a bus to reach to the city centre; but then again the buses ran every 15-20 minutes so that really was not much of an issue. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend that property to everyone who is looking for a good accommodation slightly away from the buzz and tourist crowds of the Old City.

The hotel was further out of town than expected (7 tram stops) but the trams stopped just outside and were very frequent.

What we found was exactly what had been promised. The cost of the room was exactly as stated. Also as expected, reaching downtown Salzburg required a long walk, or bus, or car+parking (the latter not so difficult to find). We found breakfast quite good and kindly served. Only two things were little appreciated: a few spiders in the room and some unremoved ice in the parking area. We could come here again.

Alberghetto davvero favoloso.

Though a little hard to find, that may have been due more our lack of language skills then the directions, we loved the hotel. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and very quiet. It is located quite a ways from the main attractions in Salzburg, but this presented no difficulty. We drove and parked (which is a little more challenging in Salzburg), but you could also take the bus, which stops right across the street. Breakfast was filling and of a good quality. The people were friendly and efficient. In general, the hotel added positively to our stay in Salzburg and we would definitely stay again.

Could give a more clear and detailed instructions about how to get there by car. It would be good if a little fridge is provided in the room. Thanks very much

Whilst the room was good, there were over 40 stairs to negotiate with luggage to get to it. No assistance was offered to carry cases. The attitude of the Manager was "You can't expect to have a lift in a 2 star pension"

We 7 person were on two room of the pension. The room was very clean, quiet, and spacious. Even the price was very reasonable. I would recommend to the group who want to stay on the outskirts of the town - to avoid crowds and much more affordable! Bus stop is just in front of the gate to the city center.

A great stay in Salzburg helped by the convenience of Turnerwirt. Easy to find, breakfast OK and well priced. Lovely room even in the extreme heat.

Very nice hotel. The staff was helpful and friendly. The rooms were semi spacious. The problem was that there are no lift or elevator, and we had to bring our 5 suitcases to the top florr, which was either 4-5. the staff didnt offer to help in that situation. so, ask for the lower level. the location was kinda far from the center, but it was located in a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood. the breakfast was sufficient enough: cereal, meats and cheese. the rooms were clean, but no shampoo were provied.

A family of 4, we recently stayed at the Turnerwirt in Salzburg. We were quoted a rate of 140 Euros a night for a room for 4. It is difficult to find a room in Europe that is large enough for a family so we were happy to find one when we booked it in advance via the internet. Upon arrival, the lobby smelled heavily of cigarette smoke which was an immediate turn off. Yes, a lot of people in Europe smoke, but we stayed in many other hotels during our trip and never experienced the problem elsewhere. When we got to the room, we were disappointed to see that the vinyl flooring and furniture were full of cigarette burns. The bedside rugs were very old and tattered and dirty looking. One of the twin beds looked to be at least 40-50 years old with no mattress cover on it other than a thin sheet. The coverlet inside the linen duvet cover looked about as old and the whole bed felt and smelled damp and musty. Luckily, we had brought along one of our own beach towels which we used as an additional barrier on the old matress. While we didn't expect a 5 star hotel for the money, we did expect a certain level of quality and cleanliness. To us, it was little more than a skid row hotel. We also thought that we would be closer to the town center. On a positive note, the breakfast was adequate.

Ottimo albergo situato in una zona molto tranquilla nelle ore notturne e ben collegato dai mezzi pubblici con il centro. Pulito e confortevole. Il personale è gentilissimo e parla perfettamente l'italiano.
